I never will understand this saying we’re breaking. Their heart is better than knowing you’re dying. Find out you’re dead eventually instead, they’re gonna hate your gut and probably end up going off and getting killed or something. This just makes everything worse.

30years to live is a really long time. He can spend that much amount of time with his wife and child happily. He's a wuss to write such a thing to her. Stories like this where the man finds stupid excuses to abandon his family and make them suffer is really infuriating.

I hate stories like this. "Im about to die so allow me to traumatize you by abandoning you instead of telling you the bad news."
It's one of the worst misunderstanding tropes cause it turns around and says "Nope theyre actually the victim, dont you feel foolish and like a dick for hating them for all this time"
