Hey cool video! Yeah I agree a Minus One sequel would be awesome. Hopefully they could try and make that happen. Although I did see people wanting Gamera in the Monsterverse too. I just want to see it happen haha
(12:02) Yeah Toho never owned the rights to Gamera, Daiei were the original copy right owners of Gamera which is one of the reasons why Godzilla and Gamera have never crossover before (kinda like Marvel and DC). But then in the early 2000s Daiei was bought by Kadokawa (much like how Disney bought Lucasfilm and 21st Century Fox) and now Kadokawa currently owns the rights to Gamera. But another reason why the two companies never mange to get this idea off the ground is because (like what Rob from E.T.N has said many times in both streams and in videos) neither one wants their monster to lose or to have their respected monster to look bad in comparison. Basically it's an ego thing like what you said in the video. π’π¨βπΌπ€ππ°
(14:47) Actually when you look back at Gamera's history its not that farfetch to have Gamera be a villain monster. From the very first movie "Gamera The Invincible" (1965) he basically started out much like Godzilla did and deliberately killed thousands of people. It wasn't until the third movie in the Showa era were Gamera started to be come the more kid friendly hero that most people known him as. Also in the Gamera trilogy and in "Gamera Rebirth" both hinted at him going rouge or at least turning his back at humanity. Even though most people know him more as a hero I think it would be more interesting to see him be the villain for once in a future movie. π€π¦Ήββπ’π₯π
