What is going on?!! 🤣🤣
Melinda….👀👀
Next chapter update January 19th!! 🤓❤
Melinda is a such a interesting and extraordinary character, how she refer her husband Donovan is a "alien". I mean she has some points, Donovan's head scar has generated some theories over the years, something we don't know for sure until we see the truth.
TBF, we kinda was things might go sideways when Melinda told Yor of her love of the occult, but…. WOW!!!😂😂🤣🤣
"Loid"/"Twilight" really better not blow it do to this!!!!😅
Also, note Melinda saying that Yor and "Loid" are "lively" to her. (Which by extension means Anya might be considered "REALLY LIVELY" to her.) This kinda tells you the effect Donovan must of had on her mind. She also may not be use to people behaving this friendly to her before meeting Yor.
One things for sure, most/all of her problems and troubles comes from one source, DONOVAN!!!
Happy birthday!! 🎉
Second.
First off, you saying “like bro, open your mouth !” Is so savage once again towards Donavan 🤣😂
And second, I’m tbh hoping it’s true that Melinda could be reading DanDaDan 👀😁👽 Jk, but that would have been hella cool if she was !
Lastly, yes I agree that this chapter was very interesting and great towards the path the story is heading 👀 so much can happen starting here on out for the operation. But also how the Forgers could potential save and be there to support Melinda and Damian.
And most importantly, Happy birthday ! Please enjoy your special day with your loved ones tomorrow my friend 😃🥳🤎 thank you for always reviewing such amazing content for us viewers of your channel. All for the sake of the Mission ! 🙌🏽🫡💛🩷🖤
Imagine Loid having to tell Handler this info, also maybe we are getting a Spy x family Dandadan crossover! But for real even Tho I do not think we will get aliens we have to remember this series has a future seeing dog and telepathic girl so anything possible.
Melinda probably has some kind of Capgras delusion (which is probably well founded)
I think Melinda is not a telepath, just rather empathetic. It may be hard to deceive her on what you really feel. Which may be the origin of her thoughts on her husband. He seems to be very closed off emotionally. This emotional distance may be something very alien to her.
This may be kind of far fetched, but when Loid mentioned he read about family abductions, what it Donovan was the reason for those abductions and thats why Melinda is so afraid of him? Theres definitely something that hes doing thats scaring Melinda, so could he be the one abducting different families for experimental use?
I also don’t think Donovan was “born” an alien, but rather experimented on to become one. We saw flashbacks of him as a child in the Martha and Henry arc, and he seemed normal for the most part. My guess is Donovan became an alien after Damian was born. Because we can also see in a flashback where Demetrius was small, he didn’t have any scars.
What a shock. The perfect, ideal, trad wife Melinda is into conspiracy theories. TBH I don’t think Desmond is an alien but there’s def something anomalous about him and perhaps “alien” is her way of rationalizing it?
Interesting chapter, lots of layers. Like seeing the subtle way Loid is working, layering actual truth with lies. That panel where he basically said "You can turn me in to the authorites the unlikely event something happens" has major foreshadowing. That's a bold move, dude. Is it just me, or does Loid seem a bit desperate to get (any!) intel from Melinda?
Despite her loopiness, Melinda is able see him for who he is (not a spy, as a person) like how she notices he's strong, like Yor and even gets him to admit he read UFO magazines and declassified X-Files type military reports. (I think the manga says Loid REALLY did read them) All the more interesting since since it shows his insatiable curiosity and low-key nerdiness.
I agree with the person who said Melinda is empathetic. Can't read tarot cards worth a darn but she seems to be an excellent people reader, maybe even an empath. That panel where Loid is hovering in space got me too. It's like Melinda can see through Loid, sense he's up to something.
Agree, Donovan throws her, because he is emotionally closed off. She's right something is off about him, whether experimentation changed him or maybe he opened himself to the occult and opened himself to the influence of a dark spirit (perhaps both) that maybe led him to do evil, and yeah, he isn't the man she married.
Melinda, being so deep into the UFO and occult stuff to the point of being loopy about it can explain it in no other way that makes sense (to her) than "My husband is an alien."
That's my theory anyway. Happy birthday!
I don't think Donovan is an alien because at no point have aliens been foreshadowed as being part of the Spy x Family world and it would break the theming. (That's not to say that they can't exist in the SxF world but that I don't think they fit with the story itself.) I do think that Melinda has noticed something "supernatural" about her husband, and all her interest in the occult has made her attribute it to him being an alien. I can totally see Melinda maybe changing her story with every therapy visit, though. Like next week, she says "Actually, I think he's a changeling" and the week after that, she's like "vampire", and the weak after that: "I think my husband's reflection forced them to switch places," and then, "Frankenstein's monster". Twilight's first instinct (or the instinct of his colleagues) is to dismiss these assertions, except for the fact that every one of her conspiracies point to there being something supernatural about her husband that she can't neatly define with her occult interests, and that could be what leads Twilight to investigate these hack fields like cryptozoology or supposedly impossible human experiments to find his answer. I think what Melinda serves to the plot here is to get Twilight to wonder if maybe the impossible is possible after all, and consider that the answer to the Donovan mystery could be beyond the laws of the world as he understands them.
This could also provide an interesting dilemma for Anya, as now she knows that her dad knowing that some supernatural abilities are real is crucial to his mission, but she's also afraid of the consequences of him finding out that she knows all his secrets because of his telepathy (a fear which I do think is well-founded, given that Twilight would be very spooked over the idea of a young child knowing his incredibly-sensitive-could-cause-a-war secrets). It could mean that Anya either tries to prove that supernatural abilities are real without making it clear that she herself has them, or is even involved, or it might be what eventually leads to Anya telling him about her abilities (and then Anya having to convince Twilight that yep yep Yor is just a city hall worker totally no assassin stuff going on at alllll!!!!! which would certainly make for some interesting drama later)
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!
You’ll let us know when chapter 110 comes out right
I was so into my Genshin Impact game that I literally forgot a chapter 109 was released. I didn’t get a chance to read it. Although I really appreciate the effort you put into the review process of chapters in SpyxFamily series. I hope I will find the chapter 109.
Happy Birthday!!!
There might be some theories about Desmond’s true origins. The whole alien plot twist does kinda fit with the whole tone with Spy x Family as a comedy story with a spy theme. And besides, there were a lot of moments in Spy X Family that wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. Hell, maybe the final arc of Spy X Family might go off the rails and add in some bizarre nonsense.
