Hmm, the first season was solid, but nothing to write home about. The Isekai part was completely forgotten instantly, and so the story is just a standard fantasy one.
The problem really is the execution around the main character Ars. By the end of the first season, Ars has shown absolutely zero competency at any part of ruling. All he has going for him is generic kindness, which is carrying the gargantuan luck of having two of the strongest individuals in the world now indebted to him for life.
I think there is something to say that being a leader who can make a ton of talented individuals work together like a well-oiled machine is truly genius in and of itself, but that’s not Ars. He’s literally just there to “WAHHHJHHHHHHHHHHHH WHATTTTT????? OMG????” at every opportunity while his retainers do literally everything for him. It’s like author makes him go out of his way to be as worthless and incapable as possible and having him act like a 5-year-old when this is a grown man inside that body.
Ultimately the biggest hurdle for Season 2 now is that it looks like the civil war is going to actually breakout, and the first season had dogshit animation slideshows. So, I just don’t see how or why they would make a season 2 knowing they can’t handle properly adapting the content.
