I've been drawing in anime style for about 20 years now. My love of anime as a kid is what originally inspired me to get into my field (voice over) as well.
The last few years I hadn't drawn much. My 12-year-old retired service dog passed away last week. In my grief, I decided to start drawing again, because it's good for the soul, and I hadn't drawn in nearly 3 years. I finally got around to finishing this drawing that l'd started in 2021 of an original character of mine, Xander. It's a redraw of an old piece I did in 2011 when I was 19 (original posted in comments for comparison.) I loved the composition of the old one, but my artistic skills have improved quite a lot in the last 10+ years, and I wanted the drawing to more closely resemble my vision.
I've gotta say I'm quite proud if how this turned out. Drawn digitally from scratch, using Clip Studio on an iPad with an Apple Pencil. I drew every single diamond. I really wanted this piece to be super detailed!

Old drawing from 2011
Looks good! If this is how good you draw after 3 years off, I can’t imagine how good you were before the break.
Hope you get back on the horse and rekindle that passion!
