Best of Anime 2023 – Gigguk

11. Trigun Stampede was great. I love OG Trigun and was worried, but was so pleased with this series. It did the antagonists better.

10. THIS low on the list? What a pity. Still so great, would put it higher.

9. HELL YA! personally would put it higher too, but I love the series and have bias towards it too. It definitely has some ridiculousness, but also great world building, yep.

8. Honesty, too high on the list. I still think this series as a whole rode high on the amazing animation and production values. The writing had dips in quality and wasn’t that amazing, especially after we get to a point in it. But it’s still good over all, but way too high on list and I’d put other things higher than it like.. oh.. Oshi No Ko and Eminence in Shadow.

7. Good one, but not sure I’d put it this high. It’s good though, definitely deserves the praise. Garnt “tired of high school stuff” (pretty sure he, like Connor and Joey, was not as into high school stuff/settings) puts high school stuff on the top 10 though 😛 amazing.

6. Honestly, can’t figure out where I’d put this, I didn’t watch it cause F Disney. I hear it’s good, but can’t say where I’d put it.

5. YES! GOAT! Should be higher, personally. So great. Maomao is peak! It’s so good. And the detective aspects is great.

4. I heard this was amazing, I really need to get to it. Surprised it’s not higher on your list.

3. Jujutsu Kaisen is pretty great, ngl. I’d prolly put Apothecary Diairies higher for me, but I get why this would be so high for so many 😛 I mean, hell, prolly about the same placement for me.

2. Frieren at #2? Wow. But it is so amazing, for sure. Definitely love how it tells its story, builds its character, and builds its world. So great.

1. Makes sense, it’s so amazing. Definitely worthy of #1 to me. But thinking back, the dread week to week also hurt, where as Frieren and Apothecary Diaries I was more looking forward each week, so they are higher for me.

Honestly, my top 3 can switch around depending on my mood of the day lol.

Pluto and Heavenly Delusion I really need to get to so I can decide where I’d put em.

I was a bit disappointed with the absence of Insomniacs after school on the list , even if it was mentioned along side Skip and loafer like how he did in AOTY 2021 Video with Komi san and Nagatoro – I would have been fine , but nonetheless the last Vinland saga speech was meticulously written with each words perfectly woven with love and care to convey me the message that you don’t have any enemies .

Loved his take on Eminence in shadow sometimes u really need batshit crazy anime like this which is just pure fun.

Same goes for Skip and loafer which is polar opp of it but the Sol we needed.

Glad to see Skip to Loafer and Heavenly Delusion here and so high on the list too. And he spent good chunk of time talking about them too. Sad to see many people skipping on both of them because one is in Disney jail and the other is “just another highschool drama”, but both are fantastic in their own right and well worth watching.

Vinland Saga at 1 and JJK at 3 you love to see it

Although i think Oshi no Ko is a bit low at 10, for me it was like top 4 after Vinland Saga/Jujutsu Kaisen/Frieren

Skip and Loafer fans we won.

Honestly this year is so packed with so many great anime I would be overwhelmed to pick top 10. Hell there is still plenty of good anime on my “to watch list” that grew thorough this year.

I’m quite happy with this list and enjoyed his video as always. Hope for another great year of anime.

Also on the topic of Chinese anime – Shiguang Dailiren – Link Click is great, s2 came out this year and I really enjoyed it.

I teared up at any slight mention of Vinland Saga S2 man I need to get my shit together.

Well deserved top 1, never was a doubt

I’m very pleased with how many Best of the Year lists Vinland Saga Season 2 is topping. It deserves every bit of praise for how perfectly executed this arc is in animation.

Actually my top 3 is the same. Just swapped Frieren and JJK.

One of the worst lists I have ever seen, it impresses me how much worse Gigguk gets every year. Normie takes, dub clips, shit list, etc.
