  1. Fantastic show this week!
About mining modules: I would love to see an internal station for the mining modules. Something that an engineer or mining specialist can hot spot into ports and adjust the properties of the lasers. Having to get out and manually change them is one of my least favorite aspects about the process. Especially when I forget my space suit or helmet.

  2. Nothing stops the fact that it’s an old mechanic that really can’t be fixed. If you been playing for 4 years or more and were even a little interested in you already mined your heart out that plus economy means until crafting I don’t see most people want to mine either way.

  3. So weird, I only started mining this patch for the first time. Bought a prospector and have had a really easy time finding rocks to mine. I picked ARC L2 based on Reds mining cheatsheets and fly a specific path out of the hangar every single time and never have a single issue finding decent mine-able rocks

  4. larger S3 as moles S2 lasers should be able to just scoop smaller rocks, like 3k mass for example in the case of the arrastra, maybe 2k or some other relation for different sizes.

Higher extraction power, so you dont have to battle small rocks with huge power fracturing lasers.

  5. Quantainium is one thing, quantum fuel is another product…… extracted from quantanium.

Think of it being crude petroleum and the actual fuel extracted from it… diesel, gasoline, kerosene

  6. They need to convert the Roc-DS into a big boy miner, give it the same lasers as a prospector. So Arrastra cracks and then you send out your Rocs to breakdown the smaller rocks. Then the Arrastra hoovers up everything.

Would be nice to see a hover version of the roc too so you'd be able to use them in space too

  7. To be honest, I hope these mining missions are quite limited, and also the salvage missions should be more limited as well.
What was interesting of this profession was the sense of wander, aimlessly flying and finding random stuff to mine/salvage, getting a mission that sends you to a specific place to salvage a big ship is a big step back, same applies for a good rock to mine.

  8. More like Red-MINE-stersC, amirite. And yeah, having the Arrastra and the Orion be able to tune their lasers on the fly, the same way the medical tool can (and the multi-tool addon can't), would make a ton of sense. Here's a question: do you think the next level of mining (arrastra/orion) will finally bring on the Aaron Halo? Or has that idea been scrapped?

  9. I think mining missions should be refineries/mining stations requesting different quantities of the “trash” mineables. That was a great idea.

I also think updating scanning so we can actually scan an area, see the results, select to asteroids we want, then go to them, as opposed to now, which is checking each. And. Every. Rock you find.

On salvage, once the actually materials that make up “RMC” and “CM” are determined, the value/aUEC will work itself out.

  10. mining needs an ORCA setup, galaxy should be able to carry two prospectors to sites and needs have more cargo space to support to say out longer.

  11. To make the Roc and Roc DS useful and fun to use I suggest CIG puts gem deposits inside and on astroids. So it's worth scraping before cracking ❤

  12. eco system mining is hard to do, i can see the point but the ds has to be rebuilt with a two people in the cab that way the guy on the arm can't get instant sniped. and having the ability to help with larger mining rock braking wouldn't be a bad idea the vehicle bay could have the ability to switch out the laser arms for it.

  13. I wish the roc didnt get such a bad rep. It would be nice if gem mining had more depth instead of "its entry level, low money" when it should be a viable way to make money, not necessarily quant money.

  14. I agree Red! If you are paying that level of money you want all bells and whistles. It's like getting an Ecoboost Mustang, then getting a GT, then a Mach 1, then a GT500. You want the value and capability to increase directly proportional to the price tag. If I had bought my GT500 and received EB performance, with a new badge, I would be pissed!

BTW Thank you for your charts and graphs. I've posted those, with full credit to your site of course, on our org page.

  15. I do think there is still opportunity for the arrastra to be able to do gadget things without gadgets. The is an entire viewing area underneath the ship towards the bow thay does what exactly? They easily could do a vulture thing and make that array a gadget beam. I really wish they had made this with the intention of a command ship and fleet guardian, because as is its marketed as a ninja miner that may or may not be able to finish the job it started, and also can be a fleet support ship.
