  1. I just watched episode 8 to catch up on where we were, right now I'm trying to decide whether I want to watch the last 4 episodes or wait for Dub.
It's my third favorite game of all-time so I love the english voices, and I've waited months anyway…..but it's so hard not to watch instantly.

  2. No, humans did not create Machine lifeforms. It was allians. Thing is – when allians start their invasion on Earth, all humans were already extinct +- 2k years prior to that point. Only androids were left at this period of time who lost their purpose to live because they fail in most important mission in their existence – save guard humanity. So commander stuff use alien invasion as opportunity to rise android morale. They fabricated existence of humans on the Moon and start endless war against machine lifeforms in order to "return Earth for humans". Point is – while this war keep going, androids have purpose in their life and keep pushing. Yorha should serve as a proof of humanity existence. Machine life forms use androids as a source of evolution. So both sides use each other for their own good

  3. I am just so glad they changed a lot of details from the game for the anime, so even for game players this anime is quite new.

  4. Yes! Your reaction! Holy SHIT! There was so much difference from the game AND they added a scene from a game mod that actually the entire community thought was a hidden piece in the game. SO much higher quality also than the previous episodes

  5. Correct adam dies not Eve. It was an interesting change though. In the game he wanted to experience death so he disconnected from the system and bAm there he gets killed and experiences what he wanted

  6. Really looking forward to cour 2, that's where the story will really get going. Basically cour 1 was the appetizer before the main meal.

  7. Those four new episodes are fire. I had misgivings about the show in the past, but they managed to pull it together. Stoked for the second cour.
The changes from the game worked to keep the show fresh for series veterans and is still consistent thematically.
As a game player I have no idea what PROCESS 11 is. WTF

  8. Absolutely garbage and pointless anime adaptation of a 9.8/10 game.

    NieR:Automata Ver1.1a (3.1/10)

    – 0.1 point for 2B's A**

    – 1 point for simply existing

    – 2 point for using the music from the game

  9. this covers the first half of the game and is like in higurashi when the first part is the enigmas part and the second half is the answers, to get the full picture another core is needed just like the second half of the game

  10. That black monster was goofy af and mood breaking. Pace feels rushed compared to the game. Too many unnecessary chages imo

  11. It's crazy how they reference a lot of different stuff from Final Fantasy 14, Nier Reincarnation, and the concert readings

Anime only fans cannot understand how crazy they showed No. 9

  12. Same with the game. Ending A of the game feels meh of an ending. Then they show you the machine and 9's side in Ending B playthrough.

Then the real game starts after Ending B. They really tell you that "you just finish the tutorial"

  13. Can someone explain me what happened at episode 12? Don't read the next sentences if you haven't watched it yet! Basically I was bit confused when 9S died then he saved his backup files to the nearest robots, later on we are seeing him again in that space station but this time with his body and I was thinking, is that really him? Or another copy with lost memories. I would be thankful if anyone could explain me.

  14. It's interesting that the roles of Adam in nier are basically the devil/snake tempting 9s with knowledge and if Adam/Eve are supposed to be the gods of robots then it makes sense that the council of humanity is trying to make 9s a android and the mortal enemy of robots the devil what better than a disobedient curious to a falt android

  15. I could explain everything, as I'm sure countless others could, and I do like the anime – but it has a fundamental flaw. The original story was so impactful specifically because it was interactive. All I'll say about the ending of the game is that it was specifically because you recieved help from and gave it to (hopefully) other players, that the message of the game meant anything. I look at the anime as someone else telling you the story of what happened to them, versus the game being you experiencing what happened personally. The anime can have all the plot beats of the game and explain the world the story takes place in, and that's all important information on a technical level – but the details of the story are actually entirely secondary to the message the story is trying to impart. And I feel that message comes across strongest by interacting with the game.

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm talking nonsense to anime only people, because I'm trying to not spoil things for you. This is a story about connections to others. Why those feelings are important, and why even the machines want them. I felt connected to others when I finished the game, even for just a moment. It's one of the few games to ever make me cry during the ending (I cost alot of people their save data through tears), and I'm just afraid no matter how good the anime is – it won't be able to capture that simply by watching it. Hope my rambling made sense :).

  16. Your theories are all good but you are missing some datas or information from previous games/lores. Why humankind got extinct etc. Tbh I don't think the anime can explain all of thag clearly unless there is a drakengard 3, drakengard 1 and nier replicant anime. Than… nier automata anime will be somewhat understandable from purely anime point of view

  17. So humans have been dead for over 800 years in this universe because over 1000 years prior Nier killed the shadow lord. The shadow lord was trying to reunite all humans with their corresponding bodies. Since the human soul turned into a dark figure called shades the artificial humans thought they were demons. Even once Nier found out what the Shades were all he cared about was saving his sister/daughter (depending on whether it's papa nier or brother Nier) so he fought the shade version of himself won and doomed humanity to extinction. Because the artificial human would not have the ability to reproduce over time and the human souls were all dead because the shadow lord failed to beat his artificial human self along side his living book Gremor Noir

  18. As I watched nier automata on netflix, I marked 3 key moment based on the video explained above:

6:49 The council does not care, they manipulating both machine & android to evolve and break through their limitation by trial and error through fighting over the centuries (I mean humanity extinct in 3000, based on episode 12, while the anime played in 5000, so that give a 2000 years worth of evolution development)
8:31 "everybody pushing the boundaries, yet no one get punished", 9s curiosity, the commander finally ignoring the order and fire the laser to save 2B and 9s, and lastly 2B revealing her emotion. The development leads to the android evolution in order to prepared and welcome the rebirth of future humanity maybe? probably they use the gene on the moon to make a clone of human in earth? I dunno, coz I don't play the game.
11:44 resistance is android? wtf, I don't play the game. I thought that only Lily that was android because she got infected in the past, thanks for the explanation. Now I just realized and rewatch the episode where Lily show her past, I realized when her comrades getting shot, the separated hand and head is a frickin cable iron and oil not a bone nor blood, yep it is confirmed they all of them is an android and human is extinct.

I'm waiting for the next season, to be honest Nier Automata is the best adaptation anime from "game" that I watch so far, the plot, the art and development is excellent even though I didn't play the game but I really enjoyed it in the end.
