      I love the way the events of these last two episodes seem to have changed Tsukasa. I don’t think he’s given up his hatred of the “old world,” for lack of a better word, but I think Senku saving Mirai convinced Tsukasa that Senku might actually be able to change things. Rebuild a modern civilization but for the better, without the old corrupting influences. Science can be built up for good.

      Hyoga wouldn't kill the elderly randomly, he wasn't only after the strong, he was after the artistic and smart too, everything else mentioned about him was right though, as far as what he'd do to less than optimal people.

      No need to overcomplicate Hyoga's motivations. It's simply eugenics.
      A heinous concept that permeated in our world's recent history too.

      A big difference with hyoga and tsukasa is that tsukasa was appealing to something that would never work. Hyoga's ideals were extremely immoral but only keeping every noteworthy person would not only fix a population issue going forward with climate change but also the world would be less reliant on fossil fuel to give way to the billions of peoples lives, they could take their time and reinstate green energy.

      3700 years with no human emissions gave humanity a second chance to fix their planet

      If you like senku as a character, riichiro inagaki wrote another manga, eyeshield 21, where the same kind of character is now leading a football team. similar mind games, maxed out skills and way too technical over the top shenanigans around a concept of heart and teamwork. i rate it as my favorite manga. there is an anime for it, too, but as with dr stone, the manga is better

      A few episodes ago you listed three ways this could end: Tsukasa is thrashed into retreat, Tsukasa is nakama, or Tsukasa is dethroned. But there’s a fourth option, beloved of animated shows everywhere: have the bad guy do the dirty work.
