No need to say how much I loooved Banana Fish, and honestly I had so much hope for this character after 1st part (Eiji's rescue after Shorter's death) , but in the end I was really disappointed in his VARIOUS twists and uselessness in the plot… I think he really had so much potential but remains the biggest defect of the series. Would like to hear your thoughts 😁
Also my favorite Banana Fish character! 🙂 He was so fun and interesting and his friendship with Sing gave me hope in the dark dark Banana Fish world.

As I know and checked Dawson, his brother and their friend were med college students who wanted to make some money by making and saling drugs. And they accidentally created Banana Fish. And only than Corsica found them during Dawson's experiments at Iraq. Hired brothers and they continued to work on BF under Corsica. Isn't it it?
I really think Yut Lung is a really good written character, still I can't like him as a person.
And about, how can Shin stay so calm even the his step brother is dead? Like, I'm the same kind of person, huge part of my family is dead and I loved them more than myself. I even saw them dying I still can't feel anything about it. I never cried over their deaths. Just, I don't even feel sad about it. I dunno, maybe there's something wrong with me?

In my opinion, I think Yut Lung is the character has the most suffering life in banana fish, rather than Ash. Ash has a brother who love him but Yut Lung didn't. When Ash 14 years old, he meet Blanca who teach him how to survive and protect him from Marvin (at least). When Ash 15, he meet Shorter, who became his best friends, and met Eiji – his salvation. At least, Ash still have people on his side, even when he die, and Yut Lung have no one on his side until he die (Because Sing left and live with Eiji after Ash death). Ash had a happy death when he knew Eiji’s soul always with him, and I think that Yut Lung not really happy when he death. In fact, the author hate Yut Lung so much, she even said that she wants Yut Lung live to face the sin he committed (but she changes her mind after that). I really love Yut Lung and Ash, I hope they have a better life in their next life 🙂 I also love your analysis, could you analysis more charaters in BF? Even some villain characters as Dino or Foxx. (sorry my English is not really good)

I still hate the guy lol i understand that he's a traumatized boy but he lashes out at everybody and he only blames other people for his problems. He wonders why nobody loves him but he doesn't understand that he's the reason why.

I love Yut Lung! He is objectively my favorite character. Everyone else is great but there is something about Yut Lung that keeps bringing me back to him. I especially love watching him be a primadonna at times bc I think it's pretty adorable–
A very nice video. I rarely see any praise for this character and he's so great. I'm weak for narrative foils and Banana Fish gives us this cunning man to serve as a foil to Ash.

I like to think that eventually blanca comes back to yut lung and they stay friends. But reading that he was killed made me so sad. Yut lung is definitely an underrated character in this series. He's so well written.
I understand that he's a traumatized kid too just like Ash but I still hate him, I don't give a fuck about his sad backstory.
I didn't know there was so many people that hate Yut-Lung. He is one of my favourite characters too.
In the first time I don't like yut-lung because my brain associated him and shorter's death. He's very jealous over Eiji and Ash relationship. And I don't like jealousy.
But I read banana fish and ow gosh this life and personality are really similar as Ash. He just don't have a Shorter and Eiji. He don't have any chance to be happy. I don't like how he act but I understand.
Him and Ash have take different rout. But think of it, if Yut-lung have an attachment figure when he was young he don't act like that.
