  1. 1:01 Beastars is not really "underappreciated", in fact it has been performing far better than most other animes from recent times. Look at its S2 trailer, it got like 3+ million views in just a couple of months while most other animes takes months or even a year to even reach 1 million, that's because even a lot of Western non-anime watchers have watched the show due to its animal aspect being more appealing to a wider Western audience (thanks to Disney's impact on Western culture), meanwhile most other animes from recent times have a very Japanese look which makes them far less appealing to a bigger audience. Animes like Re:Zero, Jujutsu, Horimiya, etc might be popular in the anime community, but honestly outside of said community nobody knows about them or would watch them because their style is just unappealing to non-anime fans. Even if Beastars' reception in the anime community might seem average at times, its actually one of the few animes which are also doing really good outside of it unlike most others.

  2. This S2 has been entering the top 10 of Netflix Japan and its opening song has also been in the top 10 of Japan's music charts for months now, the only reason why not many people seem to be talking about this season is simply because its currently only officially available on Japan, unlike most other animes which are being simulcasted on Crunchyroll, Funimation, etc for the rest of the world, while Beastars S2 will only get its Netflix worldwide debut in July due to all the multiple dubs they need to make for it. It was the same for S1 honestly, which only exploded in popularity in the West when it was released on Netflix worldwide a couple of months later.
