For those that don't understand
The chances of ishtar even being able to be here are so astronomically low that literally nobody could predict so gil is not really at fault at all for throwing away the key.
Can you argue he should have kept it? Sure but in any normal situation leaving the key in the cave is not an insane thing to do at all

Anyone who's saying that the chances of Ishtar being manifested was astronomically low is bull excuse because Ishtar had put a curse/blessing that says whenever Enkidu and Gil reunite she will get manifested by any means. This mf was just too arrogant as always and threw the key away.
Through out this scene I was soo frustrated at the girl for not using her commend spell to save gilgamesh instead of just standing there all flabbergasted and scared like a fight out of water trying to breath.
