NO WAY
Not yet pointed out here is that the reason why Saber/Richard Lionheart is that badly injured is cause of he protected the Church in a way that would not be damage by GoB but puts his own body on risk, hence why he is so beaten up.
And see how his Catholic origins comes when he said God with a Capital G, and Gilgamesh answer with "gods" which Richard thinks as Gil being a Polytheist. A good small detail to add.
It was dirty gill getting jumped by all his counter
when are yall doing one piece
A few things:
I, ishtar is want to marry gil but is very jaded gil that he refused her
II, Berserker is also from gil story it's a divine beast that took both gil and enkidu to beat it
Justice for ilyasviel this been coming for Gilgamesh
Don't worry he'll come back as a new class 😁
The King of Jobbers shines again
You know who's not a bum though? My boy John Strange Fake
Man why did they cut out so much of Gil vs Richard fight.
The thing with John was explained when he made his entrance again after getting slammed. But the anime decided to cut it for some reason. They will probably explain it in the future so just wait for now. Honestly, as an adaptation wise, this is probably the worst episode so far. They really cut a lot content in the anime. John literally threw hands with Alcides and made feel fear for a moment. I was really hyped about that part getting animated but they deadass skipped it 😭
BRO GOT JUMPED
They took his car keys, like cmon
Jester actually was talking about berserker when he said he didn’t know the holy grail could summon something of that caliber, that thing is no joke….
If you know the lore Ishtar has 100 percent reason to walk on Gligamesh like that😭 W Ishtar, he the ops
So much cut content.
1. They didn't show how John got revived and the the FGO easter egg.
2. Richard Excalibur spam was too slow and short.
3. They didn't show how Gilgamesh defeated Richard.
4. They didn't show that Gilgamesh was straight up about to overpower Alcides before Ishtar did her thing.
Gil has another version of the key and can reopen the vault, but he couldn't move because of the hydra venom.
also, Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Ishtar and True Berserker all came from the same time period and know each other.
Gilgamesh killed True Berserker.
Ishtar proposed to Gilgamesh and he refused her and insulted her that's why she hates him.
Enkidu died because of Ishtar.
When your GOAT is washed
I completely forgot that Tine could've used her command spells to move him.
I think the berserker is Magellan or DaVinci
Also she couldn't use command spells because Gilgamesh kills anyone who tries to use command spells on him. like instantly.
She realized he was the king it's ,and's , but's and maybe's 😂😂😂😂😂
Well damn, I was not expecting Gilgamesh to be the first to go out, this Holy Grail War is wild
Bro really left the key to his house in front of the main door thinking "i live in a peaceful neighborhood, surely nothing will happen…….
Spoiler: Gil will comeback as his Alter Ego
Gilgamesh really went "I understand it now" 😭
The grail did not summon Ishtar. Jester aka the Vamp said that the grail can summon something of this caliber to the black fog/mud that was going around the city. Isthar put a curse on Gilgamesh and Enkidu so that if they were ever in the world together at the same time she would get summoned too. In a way it's like a curse so basically she summoned herself or you can say the world did.
When the ex shows up but she has the key to your garage
To explain this for the layman, this is like if you are playing Marvel Vs Capcom and you are about to land a Super and your biggest hater shows up and unplugs your controller mid match, drugged you and then pulled out a glock and blasted you. You could never have accounted for that. And neither did Gilgamesh.
Why she didn't use command spell
Well as a mage she's kinda good, as a master? , she is too reliant on gill
She Forget that, this is a war "master and servant" War
In defense of Tine and Gil, the gate closing and getting struck by the arrows were all one instance and I wouldnt expect my number 1 op to just show up in a random GW…..but letting ol girl monolog and blast my servant wouldnt happen lol
btw tiné forgot she's gil master
It was the real John, however False Caster's Noble Phantasm allows him to basically force "story elements" onto the world. As such, he made John the Main Character of his new story and literally revived him on some plot armor bs.
Fake caster healed Jhon, but for some reason they Just didn't show it
Alcides is such a fraud. He pretty much failed in nearly every regard and his only W took literal Divine Intervention.
1. Got violated by Jack. Had to be glazed by the animators to hide just how f'd up he got.
2. Failed to snipe a child in the hospital. Twice.
3. Couldn't kill Jack. Got fucked by Flat instead.
4. Couldn't even kill John (he had Dumas' plot powers tbf)
5. "Yeah, that hydra venom totally did nothing."
6. Animators had to save him again cut out that he's about to get overwhelmed by base Gilgamesh.
7. He was only able to get the Hydra Venom arrow in through the help of the very thing he hates, a God.
Glad yall enjoyed the episode! I'll answer a couple questions below:
That was the real John. John died, but Caster (Alexander Dumas) has the ability to alter the stories of humans. John is not only revived thanks to this, but also has superhuman strength and abilities. Hydra venom is also very relevant as it is historically what killed Hercules. Unfortunately, this episode left a lot of stuff out because it adapted almost an entire volume of the book, but when John is smacked into the wall he has a 10 hour dream (2 minutes in reality) where he can see Dumas' past. He doesn't just get up and start beating ass with no explanation.
Sheera did well to notice Enkidu helping Gil at the end there. Enkidu is still far away as they don't want to get involved with the curse (tsubaki's servant, the black cloud thing).
Tine didn't rescue Gil with a command spell partially because she was too infatuated with him. She saw herself more as one of his subjects rather than her partner, so she froze up and didn't properly act as a master. Not her fault too much, she is of course, still a child.
Flat is an interesting character. He's one of the most capable mages alive despite his goofy nature. He can really put belt to ass with his magecraft that allows him to mess with the magic circuits inside things. He's considered a genius.
Saber didn't necessarily lose, though he probably would have, but he ended up going down because he was protecting the church/Ayaka. Gilgamesh tells him he's weak because he hasn't found a proper reason for winning the war.
Ishtar is a very relevant character in Mesopotamian lore. I won't talk your ear off, but basically she's the goddess of beauty, and she wanted to court Gilgamesh, but Gil is too much of an incel and rejected her. Ishtar holds a grudge against both Gilgamesh and Enkidu because they killed her divine bull.
The key Ishtar grabbed is from early on in Episode 0. Gilgamesh carelessly threw it away after he got summoned, not thinking anyone would show up that could turn off his gate of Babylon. Unfortunately, Ishtar being a goddess and all, was able to do so. I know it's been a couple years since you guys saw episode 0, so that's why it may not have clicked right away.
Can't wait for next week.
Unlimited John works
Enkido did more for Gilgamesh than Tine 😂
This anime is amazing!
To give context to everything that happened
John comes back to life BECAUSE of Caster's Noble Phantasm. John expects himself to die, but mysteriously feels no pain and is not losing consciousness. He is then surprised when he sees a vision of a time when False Caster, in his original life as Alexandre Dumas, met Edmond Dantès (this happens after his neck is broken) John is then healed and empowered by "Musketeers' Masquerade" (This NP lets him re write someone's life based on his literary work, usually used to boost someone's overall strength when fighting something far above them, THIS is how John came back to lfie and got the Hydra's venom. AS for when he wrote anything about John, I'm unsure.)
If you have seen the other Fates, then you probably know by now that Gilgamesh losing because of his arrogance is a defining character trait for him, and it usually happens because his taking a fight seriously means the story ends within less than a day. Tine herself is still 12 years old despite being ingrained in mage society, so her not teleporting Gilgamesh simply comes from inexperience. As for why Gilgamesh threw away the key aside from arrogance, it's because that key would genuinely be useless for any creature in existence besides Gods/Gods from his pantheon (Ishtar used her divine authority as a God to shut Gilgamesh's vault.)
Ishtar is special in this Holy Grail War because she is neither Servant nor Master. She is an echo of the real Ishtar from the age of the gods, brought about by a literal curse put upon the Textures of the planet (the condition was if Gilgamesh and Enkidu ever met again). She shut off the Gates by physically closing the vault with her divine authority (aka divine power). I won't get into any of her abilities, as that might spoil future episodes, so I just stuck k to t what she did in this scene.
Lastly, Gilgamesh couldn't move due to Huwawa. Huwawa is a true deity who is the pseudo-parent to Enkidu and was killed by Gilgamesh and Enkidu for the sake of fame and the proof of strength (This is why Huwawa hates Gilgamesh and Enkidu.) Again can't tell you much without it being a spoiler, so I'll stick to what was shown this episode. Huwawa has two abilities that were shown in "Scream of Fear" and "Mana Burst (Calamity)". "Mana Burst (Calamity) " this means Huwawa can replicate any type of phenomon humans perceive as a "calamity" (earthquakes, snow storms etc.), this was used in the form of the rainbow beam that tore holes through buildings and spawned flowers (It was a ray of disease that would normally spread to tine and Enkidu but didn't due to outside play.) AND "Scream of Fear" is simply a scream that paralyzes opponents (Which was used on Gilgamesh)
Laslty thhe Hydra poison used on Alcides did affect him greatly to what extent I can't say, but he did not absorb it like a juice box.
Hopefully this cleared up any confsion, if have any more questions, I can for sure whip up another essay.
Just FYI Ishtar and Gilgamesh have had beef ever since the original legends from thousands of years ago. She asked him to marry her and he told her to kick rocks and she's been angry at him ever since. Generational hater
Gil kept monologuing so much, the Grail spawned in Ishtar and Huwawa to shut him up😆
Can they stop calling Enkidu she???
Ishtar wasn't summoned by the grail, what Jester was talking about was the sound he heard. That was Berserker's roar, which stunned Gilgamesh to be hit. So the thing summoned by the grail was Berserker.
They should explain John's revival next episode, but Musketeers Masquerade is what revived John. It lets Dumas combine things he has access to and aspects from his literary works and life. When he gave John his arm, he mixed him with the Count of Monte Cristo, who faked his death and was reborn as an Avenger. Their conversation was so focused on revenge at the time because John was meant to be a reverse-Dantes who turns his back on revenge in favor of upholding "justice" like Orlando says. So when John dies, the NP rewrote it as John being reborn following his ideals.
Only drawback is Dumas can't use the Count of Monte Cristo ingredient on anyone else now.
Normally when Gil gets beaten by his own "hubris" it fees like an asspull, this time it actually feels well written.
The strongest character was the first to die
Im pretty sure he isnt dead or comes back, Idk tho its been a while.
15:27 John was already under the effects of Caster's NP when he "died." Yes he did get hit but Musketeer's Masquerade can give him temporary immortality and buffs all his stats which is how he survived getting bent like a twig. Caster put his NP on John when he gave him the arm and signed his name in the air and shit which is also what he did to Flat. Also extra bit: the dagger that John used to stab Alcides was hinted at in a scene in one of the earlier episodes, they were the hydra daggers sent to Caster.
Showing ALEXANDRE DUMAS as a white guy is a disgrace.
Nothing gives me greater joy in the fate universe then watching that smug asshole getting the smile wiped of his face
That's why you don't throw away key bois, especially your treasure key
Damb gil, should've use face scan security
It's bothering me that Sheera's using she/hers pronouns for Enkidu. I mean that's valid, just never something I've heard it used before. Usually it's he/him or they/them.
