THERE IS NO WAY THEY DID HIM LIKE THAT!!! | Fate/Strange Fake Episode 10 “Gold and Lion” Reaction

I've loved the show so far. However, this episode in particular cut a huge amount of hype moments and important information. If you (or any other anime-only people reading this) ever find the time to read the novels, then please do. (You'll probably also see me posting this comment nearly verbatim on a few other reactor's videos).

This is a list of the things I can remember that got cut (warning: spoilers for the book, but probably not for the anime since I doubt any of this got moved around):

– Gil vs Richard is reduced to little more than a minute. The fact that Richard has a skill that lets him get faster and faster, allowing him to beat back Gil, is also barely implied. Gil using the Chains of Heaven to maneuver his weapons into a "serpent" against Richard's Excalibur spam was completely cut.

– Dumas' NP, Musketeers' Masquerade, isn't explained at all in the anime, but basically it allows him to rewrite people's life stories to boost them, and is what he used to revive John.

– After reviving, John gains superhuman strength and speed and is able to briefly fight Alcides in close quarters combat. In the anime this just becomes John running kinda fast and then stabbing Alcides. 💀

– Flat's attack on Alcides did not look like it hurt that much in the anime, whereas originally Alcides was described as being about to burst at the seams, and barely held himself together.

– John's Hydra venom literally kills Alcides, but he gets a free revive from the same NP that gives him the Nemean lion pelt and the Stymphalian birds. This is sort of shown in the anime, but not properly explained.

– Sigma and Assassin vs Jester is reduced to Sigma shooting Jester once. Assassin doesn't even get to use the NP she did in the novel. Sigma's "how many bullets" question also lands a little flat imo.

– Alcides vs Gil is also cut down a fair bit, and doesn't have as much push and pull between the two as in the book. Nine Lives also just kinda looks like goofy will o' the wisps rather than a group of titanic snakes, although that last bit doesn't really detract from the episode.

That's just the major cuts. There are lots of minor changes as well, which I didn't mind so much. However, these were some of the things I was looking forward to the most, so it's pretty disappointing that so many of them got removed and will probably never be animated.

Gil has another version of the key and can reopen the vault, but he couldn't move because of the hydra venom.
also, Gilgamesh, Enkido, Ishtar and True Berserker all came from the same time period and know each other.

John technically killed Alcides, but Alcides has Battle Continuation like UBW Lancer, long enough to activate the NP Chiron's Immortality, which grants one extra life
If he got summoned as a berserker, the venom would've taken all twelve of his lives

And the reason Richard lost is bc Gil targeted the church to try and take out Ayaka, but Richard blocked it with his own body
