Je REviens Chez Toi #08 – Goldorak – Grendizer – BackinToys – Collection – NEO GEO – NINTENDO – SEGA
And this one’s brand new. Oh, it’s insane. It’s absolutely crazy. So , what I’m seeing here is already blowing my mind. And this isn’t even your piece . No. No. Is this a shop or something? There aren’t any prices here. But this is insane . No, but this is something else. Ah, this one. It’s yours. And is it real or a hologram? Oh no, it’s the real one. I feel like I’m back in the ’80s, like when I used to go to the shops. Albator too, you have quite a collection, we agree you have almost as many, well, not as many as Goldorac because there have been a lot of Gold Rock revivals, but you have a lot of Albator products. It’s funny because you put these pieces there like they’re… I got them recently. These pieces are super rare. Yeah, rare. You still have these though? Well, I still have all my games. Oh, you didn’t show me this at the beginning. Oh, come on! What’s this? What is this? There’s only one piece left that I’d like to have. It’s a Goldorax. It’s really simple. I could have gotten it a long time ago, but I missed out several times. I acted crazy so I wouldn’t get it. It’s a Goldorax, 30-40 cm I think. And it talks. Oh, I have that one. No, that’s right. Hi everyone. No, a little more actually, each time you all have a little bit of trouble. A little more, you know. You have to hit it like this, you have to tap it. Hi everyone. It’s good. I approve of this one. This is DJ David 55. Yes. You’re attached to the 55. Well, I’m from the 55. So, we filmed exactly 8 years ago. Yeah. In 2016, broadcast in 2017. I’m coming back to your place. We’re actually starting right here. You’re going to explain why. Because it’s magnificent. But I rewatched the show and I’m thinking, the mission has evolved so much since then. Back then, we focused on your collection but not on you. And I’m glad there’s this “come back to your place” game. That way we can really discover not just DJ David 55’s collection, but DJ David 55 himself. Yes, that’s good. So show us. I’m coming back after all these years. So what do you have here that’s so great? Well, uh, well, almost 9 years ago when I was on “I’m coming to your place,” uh, I was already talking about how I was waiting for the Tsume statue. It took almost, yeah, nearly 5 years from the pre-order to arrive. You received it right after, right? Yeah. Yeah. And uh, 4 years after the gift, they apologized for the delay with the pre-order and they gave all the owners of the statue a bust. It’s true, it’s crazy. A gift to apologize. There you go, with a little message on it apologizing. It’s huge. Yeah, it’s a very kind gesture. So, that means we’re going back… What’s changed since then? We’re going back to your room. So, what? I picked up a few new pieces, but not too many because I more or less stopped and started working on other projects. Ah, we’re going to talk about a lot of things. Has anything happened to you since then? Yeah. So we’ll talk about that little by little. So, let’s get into your collection. How’s that going? I ‘m following you. Yeah. Well, like last time. Oh yeah, those were your bodyguards. I remember they were your bodyguards. So, you’re telling me it hasn’t changed much. Yeah, I’ve picked up a couple of bits and pieces since then. But so, it’s true that we ‘ll, we’ll, as we start to move forward, let’s take a look at what you have. Oh yes, you didn’t have these. No. Yes, you did. I don’t even remember. The Sho Map Japanese ones. Yeah, you had those. So, because we hadn’t talked about it, how long have you been collecting? He said almost 20 years. Well, now it’s almost 30 years. Yes, I started around ’94, so it’s been about thirty years. I started collecting. As for toys, well, it was Dragon Ball back then. You showed us the Super Battle figures. You showed us the Super Battle figures. It was my very first toy collection. And actually, what got you into collecting? So, since we know you now, we know your collection. So it’s good that we talk about it for like 5 minutes very quickly, but what got you into collecting? I was really into video games. I practically had every console. I was totally into it, maybe even a little too much. And we would go to shops specializing in Japanese import consoles, and there were quite a few imports in terms of games, but not many model kits, Gundams and all that. I loved robots, so I bought Gundams, I made my own models and everything, and I was also really into manga. And there was also, well, Goldorac, seeing old toys again made me want to get toys I didn’t have, especially Lis 31, the shuttle, and all that. And through ads, I saw people selling old toys. I bought one of three and got into it a bit, or so it gradually became like that. And you did, because right now, how old are you? 50, so that means you were 42 when I came. Yeah, about 42. So you’re 50 now. So yes. So you’re definitely from that generation, you’re a total Goldorac fan. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. So, so we’re moving on. It’s true that we were… So, you told me I kind of stopped collecting. It’s true you’ve changed a bit, but you still have your collection. Yeah, well, I’ve bought a few new pieces since then, but not that many, less than before. To be honest, I’ve gone a bit overboard. I have quite a few things where I no longer have the space to display them, let’s say. Oh yeah. And there are pieces I’m not looking for anymore because the prices have gone up so much that it’s become impossible for a human being. Because it’s true, back then you were looking for it, so I told you about the saucer. Yeah. It wasn’t really what you were looking for because you knew it was unaffordable. There you go. We were talking about the talking robot. Yes. Goldorak. Well, I found it. You got it recently too? Yeah. Seriously? And I mean recently, in, well, not even six months ago. I only had it for six months. Did you manage to see it? And there was this one. There was something else. Yeah. Oh yeah, I got four pieces, I treated myself. It’s a… So don’t say anything, we’ll show them to you. Well, we’ll discover it. So here, we see there’s a gadget and that’s where later in the show, we didn’t say it but there’s one of the two. This one was mine. Oh really? Okay. Yes, yes. You don’t remember, we talked about it again later but I remember because it’s my scotch tape actually. Yes, okay. Or this one’s mine. I’m the one who sold it to you actually. Are you going to sign it for me then? Well yeah. You want to, can you imagine? Did you see how I trashed your Get? So , we’re going to come back to this very quickly because at the time, there was this little sticker, and in the meantime, I talked to some people. So, either it was sold in a store—you’re telling me which store it was sold in, possibly in Paris? Is that right? Yeah, I don’t remember which one, it was a well-known department store, but I can’t recall the name . Yeah, but actually, there were… and I was told that they might have been samples, that it was the sales reps who had them. It’s a bit unclear, but so it was definitely distributed. Oh, it’s not the girls, I think. Yeah, it must be something like that. It must be… it must be that. It was distributed. Oh, it’s a real… Yeah. Battle 4. Yeah. Oh! Oh! That’s beautiful. There are many who They’d like that. Yeah. Ah, even the slime pit, it’s empty. Well, that was mine. That was mine when I was a kid. So, it’s true that you’ve kept a lot of stuff, and we’ll see, we’ll see some video games. You have several rooms now, too. Yeah. So it ‘s evolved quite a bit. So look here. Here, on the other hand, it’s true that since I came, I… I saw the video, I was checking it out when I was filming. Oh my! Oh my ! Oh my, what a pleasure to be back here. Well, there’s not much room to move around because I put things everywhere. So, I see that the flame hasn’t moved. Hasn’t moved. But then, has it moved in almost 8 years? Has it deteriorated? No , it was refurbished because the elastic inside was shot. But everything else is original. I remember back then we were talking about it, saying it was worth €2000. It’s good to know how the price has changed. I don’t know because, well, since I’m not looking for it and we see a lot of them come up, maybe there are a lot of serious collectors I don’t know or who aren’t on social media, so they sell them amongst themselves. But today, for example, I’d just like to know, back then it was around €2000. Yeah. Do you think it’s gone up now? If someone wants to offer me… Oh yeah, really? You’d sell it? Yeah, honestly. Yes, because it’s a… it’s a piece that’s traveled between collectors and I’d like to pass it on. Let’s put it that way. Oh yeah, but the torch at what price? Is that it? There you go. Or even a trade. Oh yeah, totally agree. It’s funny because you’d think, why not, actually. You have that philosophy, actually, it’s because there ‘s also that, and the fact that my three big collections are Ulis 31, Goldorac, and Albator. I have some Captain Flam, I don’t have everything in the box , and uh, yeah, I’d be, why not? And actually, what was your childhood like? What was it? It was Goldorac to the max. Well, all the series, well, I was born in ’74, so it was everything. Everything that started. Goldorac, Albator, well, I also saw all the… when we say we all… we all went through Candy Candy too. So you have memories of, well, that’s it, you know, you have memories of when you were a child, when Goldorac was on TV, that kind of thing. Oh, oh yes, I remember, we used to take, I even used to take rubber bands with markers from school that I’d put around my arm with the rubber band to draw the dots and everything. That’s right. Oh yeah. Oh, that’s great. And we had the Goldorac toy, uh, with my brother, we wanted the jumbo one and we got the Geking, the yellow one. So, show us because it’s true that last time I filmed, but it’s good that it’s you who tells us a little about your colleague. What beautiful piece do you have that you’d like to show us? Well, the ones I got recently. Well, for example, and then we’ll still take a little look at what you have here, pieces you like, you know, anecdotes about pieces, how you got them, that kind of thing. So, what did you get recently? Well, recently, the Talking Gold, the Talking Gold, the one with its box. You managed to get it, then, at the cost of a financial sacrifice? A little bit. Well, at the time, you told me twice. Basically, money wasn’t… Well, it’s not easy. Well, anyway, that’s not it. Then, well, there are several prices too. But it’s this box that I’m filming right now, the big one. I love Japanese boxes with the way the toys are presented. So, what’s the story of how you got it? Because you looked for it for years. He’s an Italian collector friend, very Big. Well, I was one of the biggest Italian Goldorac collectors, and he decided to stop. So he was selling his collection, he contacted me, and I thought, “All the pieces he has, there are so many I’d love to have, at least a few, but knowing the current prices, I couldn’t. I couldn’t keep up.” Anyway, he gave me a good price, and I managed to get four pieces thanks to him. I got the Talking Goldorac. Okay. I got that piece because back then you were also looking for a base, I remember. Yeah, but that’s the same, it’s like the saucer, it’s the base, that’s it, it’s worth over €15,000, €20,000, well, it all depends on the condition. And when you see it, I can imagine. So, this is a resin kit that came out fairly recently. Yeah, it’s recent. Oh no, it’s from the ’90s. Yes, well, yes, okay. Or yes, yes, yes, okay. But what I mean is, it’s not from the Goldorque era, you know? Yeah. Oh yes, yes, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it’s very fragile, so during transport it was often damaged. Well, it was brand new and it broke during transport in Italy. Oh no, it cracked there. Well, it’s not too bad. And that means this collector stopped his collection and dispersed it. I don’t know if he gave it all away because it’s very recent, but he also took that from the 70s. So, it’s true that David DJ David, at one point, you saw yourself on social media, you hesitated to sell your collection too, didn’t you? Well, what I would love, well yes, I do think about it, but it’s more to move on, well, it’s something else in my life, let’s say. But I would really like someone who could take it all at once, that would be ideal. Would you like that? Oh yeah. Well, someone who could do something beautiful, I wouldn’t say fun because that’s a bit too pretentious. Well, we still say it’s fun, but uh, do something, a beautiful but permanent exhibition, something extraordinary. But do you think it’s worth that, that, that, there’s no price for your colleague there? Yes. Yes. Yes. Who would want a permanent exhibition? I’d love that, but well, I live in a bit of a remote part of France, and here it’s not like I could make a living from it. And you think a Goldorax museum would be possible? No, but someone who has the means, I mean someone who has… a permanent museum, oh no, that would be great, who could add something else with it. And the fourth piece I got, it’s this one, it’s one of the rarest pieces. It’s Lego. Well, it’s not the Lego brand. I have the box, it’s behind it. Oh, because I want to tell you, I almost want to tell you, but these are Lego pieces that we took and… No, no, it’s one of the rarest pieces, it’s very, very rare. Finding it now… Oh yeah. And what is this? It’s Japanese. It’s Japanese too. That piece is almost 50 years old. Not the box, it’s behind it. Yeah, I see it. Yeah, indeed. So that’s it, but I’d never heard of it. And you knew that existed? Oh yeah. Oh yes, yes. Well, yes, I never found it. I only saw it once, the first time, was at Samurai in Paris in the 90s. I used to go to Paris once or twice a year to collect Ball cards, all that stuff, I often went there, and for video games, and at Samurai, I saw it, but I wasn’t collecting yet. So it was really the early 90s. And, uh, I found it strange. But finally, it’s a real piece. Oh yeah. It’s really beautiful. But I didn’t know about it, well, I was going to say I didn’t know about it, but there are plenty of pieces I don’t know about either. Oh well, I discover new things every year. Every year I discover pieces I already know. Yes, you already said that in the “I’m coming to your place” segment. You said it from the start, that you discover things almost every day, but very often people tell you… And since your appearances on the show, have there been people who have contacted you, for example, who have made you offers? Hey, I have this. I’ve had a lot of, how to say, nice people, a lot of compliments and all that, it was… Yeah, it was, it was nice. But as for offers, no, I haven’t… no, I don’t remember having any offers. So, what could we see as a beautiful piece? What beautiful pieces do you have in Goldorak or things that are… well, you know? The Jumbo is one of the most beautiful toys they’ve released. Well, the Japanese version, anyway. The one that goes with the famous saucer. And we said that actually, in France, we have a smaller size. Hey, that’s it. Yes. The French jumball. Yeah, yeah. It’s smaller than… Ah, the clever one. Look at that there. He closed that one up. Oh yeah. So your wooden CGs, they really took a beating. Oh yeah, those ones. Yeah, this is really brand new, never been done before. You see, actually, the toys, inside, the hands are completely disintegrated there. There must be dust at the bottom, I think. Oh yeah. No, look in the corner. I don’t know if we’ll see it. Yeah, we can’t really see it. But actually, the dust disintegrated over time. There are a lot of toys that disintegrate over time. Well, especially that brand. Oh look, there’s… Well, look, we can see a hand there. Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! You see that? But it’s the… Yeah, it’s… it’s like that. Unfortunately, there are a lot of toys that go to the “sick toy” department, there ‘s a Medicom, it’s the Cobra. Look. And I’m not the only one, you know. You saw the… Wait, but it’s not that old? Well, yeah. Well, it’s from the ’90s, you know. Yeah, that’s it. ’90s , or well, when they made them, they made beautiful pieces that were very expensive too . But the quality is very good, it’s the fabric that does that. Yeah, yeah, but you’d just have to wipe it a little bit, right? It’s… Ah, it’s very special, it’s sticky. Yeah. Oh yeah, okay. And with Goldorak, you absolutely mustn’t touch the Medicom’s horns. Oh yeah, yeah, because that one’s a real pain. I like it. Mine is one of my favorites, the Gold Medicom. It’s old, you know. But it’s the one I see in the middle there. Okay. In the middle. Okay. And this one, that’s another, more recent Medicom that came out, what, about fifteen years ago? Yeah. There were several versions. How many Goldorac pieces do you have ? Have you tried to catalog them? It’s impossible. Well, I could. But it’s… Yes, you could, but imagine the time you’d have to spend… I was contacted to make a Goldorac book with my whole collection, and I had to photograph them one by one. Great! All of them one by one, in high quality, all of them one by one. I think they offered me 2000. Yeah, €2000. They offered me. Yeah, great. The time you would have spent doing it… forget it, it’s impossible. It’s impossible because, just by looking at it, you must have, I don’t know, 3,000 parts. I don’t know, I don’t know, maybe I ‘ll still manage. Yeah, hundreds, though. But not… Oh well, we don’t realize. But yes, but look at anything. So, I felt… I remember I smelled one of those… You can let me smell it for myself if, after all these years… Yeah, it still smells like an old car. Ah yeah, it still smells like something. Yeah, yeah, it smells like the smells of the ’80s, you know? When you got into a car, you had someone who had that on their… Well, yes. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. So, what are the parts? So, that… Ah yes, So this is the Goldo, the Octarus pilot version. It’s not the one that comes in a sealed bag like the Goldo next to it, which is also quite rare. It’s still a pretty rare item to find in a sealed bag. And, uh, the really nice ones, it’s still this one, the one that’s being re-released this year. But you saw, we can’t get it here, the ones, the ones, I didn’t order any. Oh yeah, I couldn’t get any. [ __ ] you were lucky. Yes, so this one is coming out in October. Yeah, at the time we’re filming, but not the video’s release date, and price-wise it’s about €90 in Japan and here they’re being offered at €130. That’s right. Yeah. Which is currently worth the old ones that you can sell for €500 or even €1000, depending on the version and the condition too. It’s one of the, along with the jumbo one, it’s the most iconic item. So, these are childhood toys, you know? These are the ones we had in France and all that. So this speaks to a lot of people, a lot of collectors. And which piece is really the most unusual? I want to tell you that there are a lot of Goldoraks here, of everything we see here, everything could be unusual because when you show us the Lego sets, the Lego styles, the toothbrushes, there are the chopsticks . What else do I have? I have felt-tip pens, shampoo, little flip-flops with the pictures that change when you move. Yeah, there really are. Yeah. No. Ah, they made a bit of everything, but it’s true that, well, we say that, well, it’s growing up in Japan. So, in Japan, Goldorak, but we say that in Japan it didn’t do as well as Mazinger. Yeah. Ah yes, up there, he remains the hero. Finally, their biggest success is Mazinger, you know. Yes. When I see all the Japanese items, you wonder why. Then there’s Popy Bandail and all that, which is still surprising to think that it supposedly didn’t work in Japan, but there are so many products that come from Japan. When you start making pens, this, this, that, it’s because at some point, it’s like bean cans, tin cans that start to burst a little because, because they’re almost 50 years old. They’re cans of sugar beans, and the liquid starts to burst a little. Oh dear! Well, tin cans, after a while they swell and, yeah, after a while, they’re not made to last. So what would we have on the other side? Here we see a little bit of Goldorak. So we have some, uh, ah, Daltanius Daous. Yeah. So how did you focus on your collection? So, at some point, you thought, “OK, I’m going to start collecting Goldorac. I loved it when I was a kid, but when you get carried away…” I thought you were saying that your brother was also a collector, if I remember correctly. There was a story like that. Well, my brother was born in 1973, I was born in ’74, so we grew up together. I lost him four years ago. It was a shock. I saw it on social media. It’s been four years now, and I’m not doing too well either, but anyway. I’m trying to… It was with him that you shared so many moments. We grew up together and we shared all the same things. Toys, cartoons, music, everything. Oh yeah. The reason he left was his robot , his robot that he had when he was little. Oh, that’s his. Yeah. Which one? That one. that we see there. And I got this one. I got the Battle Shark from the Battlefiver series. Battle Shark. Okay. Yeah. Originally, I wanted the Ulis 31 shuttle, which is out of stock. So, I got this instead. My dad had some… And it’s true that you said your dad kept a lot of things. Oh yeah, we were lucky enough to have a house, well, where there was a big attic, so he kept everything. He was a collector of… He passed away 20 years ago. But so that That’s yours from back then. Uh, mine, no, mine’s in another room. I don’t have any more. Yeah, you showed me your brother’s. Yeah, okay. So it has enormous sentimental value for you. And my brother had collected a large part of our childhood toys, which he cleaned and everything. Back then, we were careful not to break anything because our dad wouldn’t be happy, he’d get angry, we couldn’t get yelled at. So we took good care of our things. You’ll see, I’ll show you all our childhood toys later. This is great because we’re going to make a video, unlike the first one where I came to your place, which was going to be much longer. And we know, that’s what I wanted, to elaborate a bit more on how you collected them, why, how it all went, and everything. So, here we see there are some fairly recent Captain Flam figures. You can take one because they’re pretty cool, I don’t know what you think, but it’s still cool that you did this, right? Yeah, they released them in a smaller size not long ago too. And well, like Captain Female, there wasn’t anything new. It’s nice to see at least some figures on the theme. There’s just one that has a flaw. Oh yeah, it doesn’t stand up. You just have to move it. Those who leave it on a shelf should expect it to fall over at some point. Ah, okay. It’s a flaw I have. But it’s still cool that they did that. They’re really great figures. So, because I see there’s some Captain Future here. You were saying that it’s not necessarily a series that you… I loved the atmosphere and all that . But I haven’t really gotten into the collection yet, because otherwise, I have a few boxes, but I don’t have everything boxed except for this one. Which is a bit paradoxical. Yeah. The fact of having the CJbois one. Yeah, I have the rarest piece and I don’t have the others because the CGB was actually a French version, and there are rumors that they didn’t get the rights or something, that it was withdrawn from sale. So that’s why there were very few of them. I had this one back when I was a kid. I have Luctarus. I even have pictures of me with Luctarus in my mouth, or not in my mouth, or Alcor, and I had this one too. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, what else do we have here? This is Bomber, that was also a series I loved, and when we watched the series, we all waited for the moment when he formed the robot with the three ships. And this is a piece that, well, I already talked about it last time, is very, very, very rare. The little Van Berx with the blister pack with the TF1, and then there’s CJ too, still more. And we said it, right? So this is the dad who made Goldorac, there’s Gonagai who has it. And it’s a series with dolls. Yeah, yeah, kind of like, I can’t remember the name. Thunderbird, Thunderbird exactly. Yeah. And recently in Japan, there was an exhibition on Bomber X. They released an art book. Oh yeah, very nice. Yeah. They had restored the dolls from back then and all that. All the mannequins. Awesome. They had an exhibition up there. You already had that display back then, that Atlantic one. Yeah. That one. Yeah. Yeah. It’s beautiful. It’s really beautiful. So, you saw that, you already had that, the point-of-sale display or the poster back then? Yeah. You had the poster? Yes. And the point-of-sale display? The point-of-sale display. Yes, I had that too. You had that too? Yeah. That’s right. OK. It was in some cinemas when it came out in theaters back then. But how do you transport it since it’s made of paper? They drove 600 km to deliver it to me. They’re antique dealers who travel all over France and everything, and they were From Nant, I think, and he was selling all that stuff. He told me they were ready to travel that far. I contributed to the gas costs, and they brought it back for me. But that’s because there are prices you don’t really want to mention. That’s why you don’t want to, because it must cost a fortune, it must be impossible to find, and right now, I don’t know, I couldn’t tell you how much it’s worth. Well, then, there are prices, there are parts that can sell for 200, 300, 400, the same part, then it depends on the person who wants to buy it, you know. Who has the means to spend a little more than someone else, you know. But, uh, that’s part of the game, you know. Well, yes. Yes. But right now, yes. Me, it’s been years since I’ve bought, uh, big parts, except for the last four Goldorac parts because I wanted to treat myself. Yeah. And it’s a great pleasure, but you also think that maybe one day you’d want to part ways with your colleague. Well, I know it’s okay, but you still wonder, what is it? It’s about having the pleasure, from time to time, of keeping your colleague alive. Yeah, that too. Yeah, because it’s true that you’re a colleague you want to see breathe, to grow. So, we’ve been mainly in the Oracle Gold series for a while now. So, we’re going to evolve a little bit. What’s exciting here? Well, that was the Shogoking section I started. I stopped a long time ago, but I got to some number, I don’t remember which one. There were so many of those. Yeah. There you go. But they also did re-releases. Well, especially with all of this, there are several kinds of… And what do you think when new stuff comes out every time, this, that? You can’t keep up anymore, but actually, you really have to know that in Japan they don’t have huge apartments either. How do collectors manage ? It must be… it must be crazy. What do all these collectors do with all this stuff? It still works though. It’s really cool. And look, I’m spending a little more time here than last time because last time when I rewatched the video, I thought, “Ah, we were really in the early days of ‘I’m coming to your place.'” What kind of beautiful piece do we have, for example, that took you a while to get, for example, here, that you’re not proud of but that you like? I know that this display case here, it makes you swoon. 31. Yeah. Yeah, I’m not the only one. A lot of us love this series. Even the boxes and everything, it’s all so cool. The display cases. So, what’s this series like compared to cartoons, I’m guessing? Yes, of course. The story, and well, I think this cartoon is exceptional. If you really want to show it, even to your kids and all, it’s relevant, it’s a really great cartoon. Ulis 31, it’s something else. What’s unusual about your colleague Ulis 31, for example? It’s unusual because of the foreign coins, lots of Spanish and Portuguese coins, all because… Yeah, show us. You have the little candy boxes. Where do those come from? Those are from Spain or Portugal, well, I don’t even remember anymore. That too, I was told it’s because they were quite rare items, but they’re water pistols. Oh yeah! Which were apparently sold, well, you know, on the beaches and all that, but without a license, so they were withdrawn in France. No, no, same in Spain and Portugal. Okay. I love the idea. Little game here, oh my! Did you see? I… But it’s my fault, I put things everywhere. No, I… I’ve got it, it’s fine. I just barely felt it when I lifted my foot. Uh, what do we have? Oh, the little bag is nice too. The No. 1. What did you get, for example, as an item in Uliss, perhaps? Because since we met, There was a point where you kind of stopped collecting, but what new things did you actually get out of 31? Because it’s been 8 years now. In 8 years, did you really slow down? Because you showed us the pieces from before… before, I was getting packages every week. I was really into it, I was constantly monitoring it. And every week, I was getting packages. Now, maybe I get one package every two months, if that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But before, it was every week, I was getting them all the time. All the time. All the time. Okay. Oh yeah, that’s great. And now it’s over. That’s it. That’s it. That’s a 3D print. And what was your budget? My budget at the time… because to get what you have there, you either had to be there at the right time. I didn’t win the car. But it’s funny because I was getting a lot of messages. Yeah, you must have won the car, he’s rich, so-and-so. And nobody believed me when I told them I worked in a supermarket. I’m just an employee, you know. And I was earning a little more than minimum wage, you know. And a lot of people didn’t believe me. And I also worked, I did extra shifts in nightclubs. That’s why I had my [unclear – possibly “my savings account”] and I worked a few years in nightclubs , which allowed me to invest. I [unclear – possibly “my savings account”] and that means what was your budget? Almost all your money going into that at some point. Well, a good part of it. A good part. Yeah. Yeah. It was [unclear – possibly “my savings account”]. And since then you’ve really slowed down. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, it’s not the same anymore. Yeah. Now I’ve been able to put some money aside. Well, I have some health issues and all that, so I’m being careful and everything. Yeah. Yes. Well, yes, there are plenty of other things too, but no, no, no. So you really have your mindset, you have what you have here today. But ultimately, the energy, because the energy you have to expend to have what you have here, but frankly, it’s after that, there’s also, I haven’t reached the end either, but there are pieces, as I was saying, I couldn’t have them because it’s not the price I’d pay. Yeah, if you offered me €3,000 for a toy, I know that’s its value, but no, I couldn’t do it today. You might have done it before, maybe, but I’m not sure. What’s the most expensive piece you paid for back then? Back then, well, this statue, this one, it wasn’t the most expensive toy. Here, for example, in what we see here, what is it? It’s like €1000, €5000, well, €2000, €3000. Oh no, no, no. Oh no, no. I don’t have… There isn’t anything like that, actually. No, no, before it was hundreds. Well, 20 years ago, those aren’t the prices of today. Because, for example, we take the Laassuka, there’s this couple I see here, the spaceship. Yes, it was still in France. I already paid 2000 francs for it. Which is €300. There you go, €300. This one too, 2000, it was around 2000 francs too. But for the time, 2000 francs was a large sum. Yeah, €300 now, but this is worth a bit more than €300. That’s it. That’s it. This one’s recent though, this one’s one of my favorite ships. Albat’s ship. There you go, that’s the version of that 78. So, Legi Matsumoto’s dad, right? He passed away, but after I’d been there. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Oh yeah, it’s because you had an autograph. Yes, that one. Yeah. Ah, there you go, you had an autograph, and in the meantime, in 1998, right? And in the meantime, well, he left us. So that means this piece, well, now it ‘s… well, I don’t really know about all that. No, but it’s still important now. The fact that he’s no longer here, you have to say, I have a testimony. Yes. You would have put it… to meet him. I know he was in Paris, that he had already been to the south and all that That. Okay, but oh, that’s beautiful. Did you have those back then? Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, they’re really… I’m a fan of the pistol he had. Cosmo Dragon, I am… It’s crazy, isn’t it? It’s really unique, this pistol, isn’t it? And these are pieces that are worth… Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah, some of them. Yeah, well, this one is all metal. It was HL Pro who released it, or rather Dream at the time. Okay. Which has very few copies. You have the card that’s signed by Matsumoto. And it was worth almost €800. So now, yes, that’s what I mean, back then we think, you didn’t put today’s prices, but the prices back then were super expensive. The prices that… Oh, you had just received these? So, you see how this one is deteriorating? I had the hands, and well, they’re gone now. You had the hands back then, when you were 8 years old. You know, I wanted to ask you exactly that. But this hand fell off. What is it? It’s disintegrating. Yeah. It must be underneath, I think, when I moved it a little. You see, look. It’s crazy. It’s crazy. And your Captain Flame, on the other hand, still has the hands. They’re reproductions, right? No, but it wasn’t the same material. It wasn’t the same material. It was really plastic. Yeah. And here too, I have a Spectran. There aren’t many Spectroman toys , and there’s one, you see, from Marmite, starting with the color, you see. Oh yeah, that’s a Marmite too, and that one’s good. Well, it depends on the quality, the quality of the design, the mix of the product, maybe. There are some, it’s like toys that yellow. You see that one, it’s brand new, right? I had it brand new in the box and everything. You see, the paint starts to peel, the chrome starts to come off, even the big one. Oh yeah, it’s cool, they’re beautiful toys, you know. Well, back then they were beautiful toys, you know. Made of metal. Well, it was, it’s true that back then it was, well, what we called, we used to say, what? It’s Popy. It was, we used to say, they’re Popy when it’s metal, you know. When it’s figurines, and all that, cast. There you go. Popycast. Exactly. Exactly. So, what do we have here that’s beautiful? There you go. Here, it’s all still Albator. The Albator universe. We saw that one too. You mentioned that one. The rare pieces, they’re up there, you know. The rare pieces from Captain Harlock. Something fell. No, it must be the floor that cracked. Look at that. It’s crazy. I’m so happy to be back after all these years. So, what do we have here? So, we also had the Dragon Balls, which were kind of your departure, right there, those are the battles. Wait, I moved for… Yes, I see that. No, go ahead, don’t move, don’t move. I see, I see, I see. So, that was your departure, and so, Captain Harlock, tell me, those are the models. Yeah. The biggest one, the one at the very bottom, that’s a Nozica costume, so it’s all Japanese, right? No, no, it’s Italian, Italian, yeah, yeah. There you have the viscose, which is a piece that’s only found in boxes and blister packs. It’s very rare. You only find it in blister packs. And this one too, this is a blister pack. And I knew there was a second blister pack. Yeah, nobody believed me, and I saw it recently on eBay. I finally got to see a picture of the second blister pack with other characters. Ah, that is to say, it has the ships on it. Ah yes, okay. So it’s a variant, it’s not the same characters. They’re not the same. And then you saw it? No, it was already at €1000, so yes. There you go. So this isn’t really your thing anymore, but it’s extremely rare. Yeah, it’s like the blister packs, sorry. You have these two blisters, I’ve never seen Albator, you see. Jerami is Nozica. Yeah, it’s It’s Italian, and it probably exists. That’s it. Well, I suppose so when I think about it, because… and that means that back then it wasn’t Italian. You would have said, “It’s not Italian,” I don’t remember. Back then, would you have put the 1000 or not? Well, back then it would have cost less already. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. No. So, with your mindset back then, that’s what I mean. Oh yes, I would have taken it. That’s it. There you go. With your mindset back then, you would have taken the step to buy it. What? And that means what you’re thinking today? Okay, it’s okay now, but ultimately I’m not going all out. Why? Well, I’m less into it, anyway . I’m already satisfied with what I have. Because you’re aware that it’s endless, you ‘ll never stop. Yeah, yeah, but €1000 was too much, you know? No, I could n’t. I knew someone, I had a pen pal in Portugal who collected Captain Harlock and who had a website, well, it doesn’t exist anymore, and I remember he had a picture of that blister pack, and that’s why I knew it existed. Okay. Yeah. And I never saw that picture again. I was looking for it to prove to other people that it really existed. Yeah. And then, finally, I see it resurfaced, and you saved the picture, you kept it, I imagine. And then, I saw that we had some manga, and I’m sure they’re yours from back then, right? Oh yeah, well, I… because it’s true that you’re part of a generation, I totally understand your profile. You went to Japanese-style stores. Well, you see where I live, there’s nothing here. You had to go about a hundred kilometers to find the first shop in a port. Okay. Yeah. I have loads of music CDs and cartoons. Yeah, I see that. All the Japanese CDs. I have a lot of Cit Hunter. I have Saint Seiya and DBZ, I must have, I don’t have them all, but I have about fifty, and uh, I had loads of Evangelion series and all that. And back then, you’d have to travel 100 km to go to shops like in, well, like in Paris. We had Toncam, we had all those shops. Yeah. And then there was also mail order. You could buy things from catalogs back then, there was no internet, so no. So you were part of that generation that was really into it back in the day, because I remember at one point you had vinyl records, oh, these are yours from back then. And you had them, and I told you, “Yeah, we can see that,” but actually they’re good, no, no, they’re really good, actually, it’s not… well, yeah, because you see, someone who kept their vinyl records from back then, it means you were really part of that hardcore generation. Which might seem crazy now because you can find so many Dragon Ball figures of all kinds, you can find hundreds and hundreds of them, but back then there weren’t that many. There weren’t any at all, not even in poses like that. Did you buy those? Did you buy resin figures? Well, it was in Paris, you found them a lot in Paris. Especially at Madoka, I don’t know if you remember that. Madoka, there was Samurai, Samurai, Madoka, there was Katsumi, there were, uh, there were several shops like that. I used to go to Madoka because that’s where I found my Goku figure that I also painted. But anyway, well, I can tell you that you’re, you’re, you’re, you’re an artist compared to me. Because back then, there was only one Dragon Ball figure released, so there wasn’t much. So I bought everything. Well, the first one was the Super Battle Collection, I remember, it had just come out. Banda had just released the Super Battle Collection, and the import shop I used to go to was in Mess, so at I started getting about a hundred of the figures from my place. They were selling for 120 francs. So, it’s true we didn’t mention it, we’re in Barleuc, right? Yeah, we’re in Barleuc, but it came up when we saw it, we know, in the intro. But it was 120 francs per figure. Yeah, it was 120 francs. Yeah, which isn’t exactly, I don’t know. It was a lot for me, it was already a bit much, but well, I wanted one, and then they released the others one by one. Well, I stopped, I don’t remember exactly when, because at that time, let’s say we’re in the 90s, what are we now, I’d say around ’93 or ’94, yeah, because I remember I was in the army in ’93 and I’d already started. Yeah, so you see, ’93, so that means you’d already done some geography, but yeah, because we’ll see that later. You have video games. Did you keep any PC Engine stuff? I kept everything, but well. There are some I changed, some I had to sell. My memory’s a bit fuzzy because there are some things. I kind of remember, never really remember. Well, you ca n’t really remember, I found the boxes but I don’t have the… I don’t have what goes inside anymore. Sold, I know a couple of things were stolen though. Oh yeah, yeah. Well, we’ll talk about that later, regarding my… how should I say… video game obsession, because it’s true we see that, but you know, it was when I was editing afterward because we had focused on toys, but that’s when I realized that in terms of video games, you’ve also… you’ve bought, like, well, we’ll see, the PC Engine, the Neo Geo, that kind of thing. We’ll get to that later, one thing at a time. So, what else do we have here that we could see? Here, we’re still in the Mats Moto universe, but with the other Galaxy Express series especially, and there are figurines that Taito released, plastic figurines. Yeah. Of lower quality. They made Captain Harlock and also Galaxy Express. And the Tao figurines, they do the Jackson pose, you know? Yeah. They lean over. They’re on their bases, but they lean over. The one I see behind there, in particular. You might think they fell, but look closely at the feet. If you can see they’re still on the ground, that’s where you see that over the years, so what is it, for example, if we were to say, there, there, I see that there’s Albator, there’s Captain Flam, Cobra, Goldorac, your cartoon, there’s Ulis, your cartoon, ever, DBZ too, probably, yeah, well, DBZ, that ‘s the other generation, it’s really the late 80s because there was Dragon Ball and all that. So, late 80s. As for characters, my character is Albator. It’s really him, well, the first one, S8, sequel 84. Well, what we call Albator 84, I like it too . It’s the universe of Albator 78 with the empty eyelashes and all, a very heavy atmosphere, sad passages, passages that are still a bit intense because it’s 78, it’s the first one. That’s it. There you go. With the blue ship. So, concretely, what’s the difference? You’re telling me, with the blue ship, the Halbator itself. So, what’s the green one? It’s ’84, that’s for sure. There you go. But it’s supposed to take place before this series, even though that one, okay. Yeah. So this one is ’78, the one above is ’84. Yeah. And the character himself doesn’t change. Well, he changes his outfit. His outfit changes a little, though. But I prefer this outfit. You think his outfit changes? It’s great that you told me because, you see, I’m not at all knowledgeable. We can see the shoulder pads, actually. Yeah. There we can see that his outfit has yellow bits. There you can see the difference. You see, you have the ’78 Medicom and here you have the ’84 Medicom right behind it. So, wait. So, he’s all in, but he doesn’t have the white pants, if you know what I mean. Ah, that’s the difference. Yeah, major. Okay. He doesn’t have his white jeans. Okay. You see, As for Albator, it’s true that it’s an animated series that I deserve to see, but I never really paid much attention to it back then. I don’t know, I… It’s not that I did n’t like it, but I don’t know, I think its broadcast was a bit strange, so it didn’t allow me to get into it. So we know that number 78 is white pants. There you go. And so the other one is black pants. Okay. But that’s great. So this one is number 84. Hm hm. Because he has black pants. Ah, well, you see, for some it seems so obvious. Well, for me it was n’t. So what else do we have? Xor, you have to… Ah, or Xor, that’s it, that’s a series, though. I love Xor. Well, I told you, I’m not going to tell them. Meeting Kenjoba was a bit of an unexpected encounter. So, what is it, what is it? If I ask you, what is this? I didn’t know about this last time you came. It’s a JRA toy that came out in the 70s, or rather the early 80s, I think, and it was often compared to Captain Harlock and Battle of the Planets. It’s a mix of the two, let’s say. So it’s a bootleg, and finding one in Bist is super hard. And basically, there’s nothing… And how did you get your hands on this? Well, I have two. One of them I got from a collector. He was the only one we knew who had it. Well, he started selling it. So I arrived at the right time, just as it was being put up for sale. And then, apparently someone got hold of a stockpile and sold them on eBay. So I got one. So he actually had a lot of them. They were in blister packs. But it was hard to find them at one point. Yeah. Okay. Even though there’s no official license. But it was the fact that they look very similar. Yeah. Okay. So the question I was going to ask you in two places maybe earlier, if your piece catches fire, you know, you didn’t have it back then, why was I right to come back? Did you think of that? It’s funny because I was asked the same question. I was in a Japanese pop culture magazine a long time before you came, so it was a while ago. I wasn’t living here yet. So it was… And you were asked that question, if it catches fire? No, not if it burned down, that was in 2000. Yeah, if your house burned down, what do you take out? What do you take out? They already said that. No, but did I copy someone? That means without knowing it. No, but I think everyone says that, right? Even my colleagues, or anywhere. That question comes up at some point. Yeah, it catches fire. What are you going to take out first? What are you going to… And so, what are you taking right now? Well, a statue, I couldn’t because no, no. Oh dear, I think I’ve got it. No, no, it’s okay, it’s okay. It’s my fault. Again. Wait, where is it? It’s there. It’s okay. Look, it’s… No, I just bumped into it again. It’s… Oh dear! So tell me. Yes. Where were we supposed to go so you could show us? Honestly, I don’t know. If I manage to get out of there, that’s already good. But well, I think it’s coming to me. Isn’t there one that… Oh yes, actually, when I… when I… afterwards… it would be the toys from my childhood, you know? That’s for sure. Well, there you go. And you know what? I had it in mind. There’s more to it than that, so… Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought it would be that one. So, it’s true that I haven’t filmed much yet. I’m going to get some nice little shots here. Danios, it’s beautiful. Oh my, the cobra. Ah, those are posters. Yeah. Yes, yes, yes. Well, I have quite a few things on paper, in comics, in books and all that, but that I… I can’t destroy. You see the instruction manuals, this is a little booklet that comes with the Japanese jumbo pencil. Yeah, with all the Others. That’s the penflet from the film. Yeah. And then, well, of course, the records, I have the puzzles. I have a lot of Japanese magazines. I also have the “arbou” (what they say), you know, from Albator. Oh yeah, I have Goldorac and all that. It’s true that when we see your collection, we think it’s endless and that it could be because we wouldn’t suspect there was so much. You’re one of the few people who has all that. Ah, show us what it is. What, that’s… What do you think? No, there are a lot of collectors who don’t show themselves, who remain anonymous. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, but to have what you have, well, frankly, I think that’s all this stuff. Back then, it was the same, you had these things you found that were already being sold for a lot of money. Nickelard, it was Hunter, I love it. Oh yeah, it’s all so beautiful. It’s true that it’s nice, but also the hardbooks, the books from that era where you have little articles. I really liked all the Japanese magazines that talked about toys. Well, there were tons of them, but I found a lot of them, part of my Dragon Ball Z collection from back then. Oh, I hadn’t seen that. Oh yeah, that young guy was amazing. The young guy. Yeah. First Super Famicom game, and those are yours from back then? Oh yeah. Oh yes, there are a lot of things that I don’t have, that I haven’t bought again, that I’m not looking for. As for Dragon Ball, I collected quite a lot of things. I know I resold some Dragon Ball manga. Yeah. Which I regretted selling afterwards. Well, I still have all the Airbooks from back then. Yeah. Which you also bought yourself when they came out. Yeah. Oh yeah. That’s when I was telling you that you were part of a… I can kind of see the style of… profile you have. You were part of a generation that was really into… that was very involved, where it was really … I mean, it wasn’t even a niche, it was a micro, micro, micro, micro niche back then. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, you don’t buy to resell, to tell you that back then, they didn’t think like that. No, even now, you see, there are a lot of people who buy because it’s rare, it’s expensive, and you can clearly see that they’re not… that these people aren’t fans. Finally, it’s just to show they have the piece others are looking for. I see a lot of people like that who only buy rare pieces, not that they do anything else, but just to say, “I have it, you don’t.” I mean, it’s to feel important, I don’t know. I find it a bit… And because that’s something you saw coming over the years. Yes. Yes. When we started, I include myself a little bit in that in a way. Maybe I’m way behind you, maybe, but when you started collecting, it’s true that we met on toy forums in the 2000s and so on. There was sharing. Yeah. We discovered things together, we said, “Yeah, you have this, there’s that.” Well, I discovered a lot of things, I met a lot of people, uh, really good people, or people I still hang out with. And then, in the meantime, there are people who started coming along and who saw the financial aspect, who started collecting, that’s it. Well, now there are a lot of them , yeah, who talk about it and immediately see the financial side. There’s no longer the passion. There’s… well, everyone is who they are. Because in fact, we’re in an era where we’re aware, even, for example, when we were doing flea markets. Before, you had a gold coin in a bin, I imagine you’d take it, now it’s a gold coin, right? Everyone knows what it is. There you go. And now, well, gold coins… Oh, well, right away, it’s expensive. So it’s more complicated. If you see someone who doesn’t know anything and wants to… Anyone who has a gold coin and wants to sell it to you knows it’s worth a lot. That’s it. Yeah. But what else do we have to see, for example, before we move on to the rest? There are plenty of things to see because you have another room. There are three more places to see. So your video will be 5 hours long. You see that? Come on, let’s go. Maybe one last thing. The item that took you the longest to get. I’ll say, is this Goldora speaking, to wrap things up a bit here? It took longer to get. There are things like, I also said, I didn’t focus solely on Goldora. I did a lot of series, so I saw a lot of toys that I couldn’t buy at the same time as another one. I said , well, I’ll take this one. I couldn’t afford the other one, so it wasn’t the hardest one, for example, the one you were happiest about when you got it. When I received it, well, it was him. It was him. Yeah. It was a piece I wanted so badly that I saw some collectors have and all that, and it was the piece to have, you know, in terms of vintage. I’m talking about old toys, you know. So, maybe, apart from your brother’s toy, this would be the one you’d leave with? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It would maybe be this one, more or less. But it’s not easy to answer this kind of question. Yeah, there are so many. Okay, well, I’m with you. So, we’ll do it again like I did last time. I’ll do another little panoramic shot, just about thirty seconds of David. I’ll take a quick panoramic shot so you can see. We’re capturing this place. Wow! I’m actually lucky enough to be able to visit this place, but I really hope you get to see it with your own eyes someday. It’s just extraordinary. Okay, now we’re going to take a look at some video games. Take a look at this… It’s insane. It’s insane to have a collection like this. Come on, let’s go. We’ll make our way through slowly. But surely. But surely. We’ll see a little bit here because, well, we went by this one a bit too quickly. My grandpa gave it to me. That gadget there, the big one. For me, this toy is really… Oh well, gadget toys are great. It’s magnificent, isn’t it? Yeah, yeah. That one there, frankly, is awesome. Let’s go, let’s go. Earlier, I was telling you about an Italian guy who was selling his collection. He’d published a book. Okay. In Italian, of course, and he cataloged quite a few toys, especially those from his colleague, since he had a lot of pieces. Well, this is one of the rarest pieces. Colorx. Ah, yeah. Ah yes. Fabian Plastica. Yeah. It didn’t stay on the market long because the factory closed. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. And this is the same, these are pieces, you see, he cataloged quite a lot of things. And this is in English. What language is it in? Italian. Italian. Okay. This is the same, this is one of the very rare pieces that came out in Italy. Uh, this is worth €10,000. Oh yeah, it’s because, well, in terms of collecting, it’s true that you focus on it, you also collect Italian and Spanish. When I started collecting, I didn’t expect there to be so much. And like I was saying , every year, every year, I’d discover pieces, I’d say it’s unbelievable. This is Benjamin’s second book, which was featured on the “Come to My Place” game show, episode 32. Ah, there you go, this is his second volume, and likewise, he’s cataloged his entire collection. A little bit of self-promotion. Yeah, well, a really nice guy, honestly. Yeah, excellent. Yeah, excellent guy. And do you know Kenny Fleury? Yes, I need to do another one. He came to my place because, as you explained, I sometimes host visits with fellow collectors, and sometimes I invite those who can. Some are… They came from far away, and I was very happy. Kenny came, he signed my… he signed it? No, on the dust. I discovered it later, Kenny, I was saying, “The bastard.” He signed my denunciation. Uh, come on, let’s go. So now, what exactly are we going to see here? Well, we’re going to go through, uh, my video game youth. Okay. And so, it’s likely we’ll make a video later, we thought, DJ David, a video about them, because in the video, we see him. You tell me, “Yes, I was part of the Sega club from beginning to end, and I…” Oh! And back then, I was completely unnoticed. No, no, no, that’s all I accumulated. That’s you from back then. Oh yeah, everything. I’m not looking for anything. I have… that’s all I had. And you see, it’s, it’s, it’s totally the profile, the profile I… oh no, I don’t know what to say anymore. So I was talking about, that’s it, so you had the Mega Drive [__] the Saturn [__] the Dreamcast [__] you had all that. So, we saw that, but you were really… you were really into that era. That’s for the Jama cards. That’s an OK, okay. It’s a great Jama card and you put your NeoGo controller on it. There you go. Yeah. A great gun then for playing Jama games. So you had Jama games back then? Uh, no, well, I… we had an arcade that opened in ’80, ’85 I think. Yeah. And that’s where I discovered video games. Okay. And my first game was Jack. The first day I went, it was francs a game, I remember. And uh, and so, I became friends with the owner’s son. Okay. And there were some Sundays when he was the one running the place, he wasn’t open on Sundays, and well, Sunday morning, I could go there at 9 am, I’d stock up and I had as many games as I wanted, as many as I wanted. You’d take them, you’d select the games, they had a stock, right? No, no, no. Oh, you go to the arcade? Okay. Yeah, yeah. He’d tell me, “You choose the game you want.” Then he’d give me credits. Okay. And I’d go, well, every, I don’t know how long, I always went to that arcade. And when they closed it all down, he still had some cards and he lent them to me. Well, not many, I was expecting him to lend me a bit more. I had an Airwings career, I remember… I was shooting a lot, I was… I didn’t even love it, so I’d just turn on the TV and then… It’s funny because it’s, you see, it’s the profile I completely forgot about back then. And so, can you, can we see this super gun a bit more because what is it? It was made by… I don’t even know if it’s a thing, but it’s really something from that era. It’s funny. Okay. And you had… And so he lent you games too. That’s right. Yeah, but I didn’t get that many. But it was good to play with cards. When he closed, when the arcade closed, he was auctioning off the machines and I wanted one and my dad wouldn’t let me. Well, he was right in a way because he said to me, “If it breaks down, what do we do?” Yes, that’s true. Back then, it wasn’t easy. So that means you had the great family, like the one you had back then. Yeah. So all of that, that’s really yours from that time. Right now, my first console, well, it was the Master System in ’88, I got it in ’88, ordered from La Redoute with Shinobi, a backspace that I can’t find anymore, by the way. I have some things, you know, I’m going to tell you something, DJ David, I often film, well, all the time, collections, but seeing it is weird, in my state of mind, like I … yeah, these aren’t things I bought, and that you really bought, it’s not that you ordered them from Japan recently, these are really yours from back then. So, in fact I’m picturing myself back to the moment we’re talking, thinking you were a kid and these things, you know, it’s like sometimes when you’re out walking and you even see photos from the Back to the Future film sets. There are guys at one point near the Colosseum with Bruce Lee in Italy. They pose for a photo, thinking, “Bruce Lee was there at that moment.” Yeah, someone posts that a lot. I see. And then I picture myself there, thinking, “I see you with that at that moment.” You know, that’s it, it immediately gives a different value to the way I see these things. They’re really yours from back then. Oh yeah, and that, and I’m not looking to buy anything at all. Yeah. And I can tell you, this is the first time I’ve seen a collection like this. So, how long has it been since you bought any games? For example, this one, let’s say it’s 80, it’s 99, 98. Yeah. So that means, and here I see that there aren’t any other consoles except for the PlayStation 3, of course. Yes, that’s it. But it means that at some point you were like, “Here are the Mega Drive games, you didn’t buy any more of the ones you had back then.” Oh no, no, no, I had a Mega CD. For me, I had a Mega CD [__] and for me it was one of the most beautiful consoles, along with the Mega CD, the one underneath, and I was worried in ’93, and I remember taking the consoles up there. I still have the games, but I know that, well, I don’t have them anymore because I must have changed them or sold them when I started, probably my toy collection, or I don’t remember, for other things. Yeah, the Neo Geo was awesome, it was insane. There was a… I’m going to go back to NEC a bit before the year starts. We had a shop that doesn’t exist anymore, you know, shops that go out, no, stores, kind of like Nose. Yes. Yes. There you go. And stuff that was seized from the stores. OK. And I was at the CFA (apprenticeship training center), it was in 1990-91, and I went to this store on my way home from the CFA, and they had the CD-ROM that was selling for 2400 francs at the time. 2490 exactly. Yeah. And they were offering it for 700 francs. Oh my god. Oh, I went to see my dad, I said, “Here, I’ll explain the situation.” I told him, “It’s worth this much. They have it at this price, can you lend me all this stuff?” I was like a madman. And he was selling the games for 60 francs when a game cost 400 francs back then. And that’s where you started collecting, like, and I got my first C of RAM, so there, and one day I saw an ad, a guy who wanted to trade in his Neo Geo, he was looking for an NEC console and all that, and I absolutely wanted a Neo Geo because it was the most affordable console. I mean, the prices were crazy. He had four games, two controllers, all that. He was trading it in, he was looking for one, so I traded it for my first NEC. Okay. That’s how I got the Neo Geo. And that one, that means that’s where you got it, yeah, I bought another one, but it was still from back then. Yeah, that’s it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I wanted to get a NeoGo, you know? I was waiting to get a used one, you know? So, that means your games, all of them, are from that era. And do you have any Sody P cards? You know, Sody P cards have the little red tab. So, if that’s the era when you used to remove them, you know, they had little red lines. Oh yeah, we can see the price in francs. To think that these games are really first-hand stuff. Yeah. So you didn’t keep them, you didn’t have the, you know, the little red tab at the top or bottom depending on the game. So you were probably one of those who ripped them off. Well, maybe, I don’t know, but there are a lot that I bought new. Then, when I traded them with the Neo Geo, I’d traded in my old games. Then I bought some more. But that, plus that, it was a game that we spent hours on, five of us. I had bought the Bomberman 94, Someone crying and all that, and we spent hours with friends and all that. So, for example, PS Engine games, you didn’t buy a single PS Engine game in the 2000s. That’s right, but it’s crazy. It drives me nuts. It’s really your collection of vintage stuff. I love looking at other people’s collections. Even when I go to stores and see the retro gaming stuff, I go crazy when I see games I would have loved to have and all that. But I don’t buy them. No, I don’t want to. So wait, the Radiant from Silver Gun, is that yours from back then? No, it’s still insane. Shoot V. Well, that one and that one. So that Radiant we see here, that’s yours from back then, and it’s insane. It’s insane . I love the idea of being completely immersed in it. So, you know, I mean, I almost came to your place. Well, it could have stayed in an attic, all that stuff, you know? It was in the attic. There were tons of things in boxes and all that. I took everything out, cleaned everything up, and yeah, I found it. So, yeah, it was in your attic back in the day. Oh yeah. But you see, and so, you know, I have games that have disappeared. You do n’t know where they went. It’s like the Nintendo 64. The Nintendo 64 was a dream come true. We were hanging out with friends, and I said, “Hey, about 50 kilometers away, there’s a guy selling one with Mario Kart, four controllers, and everything.” He said, “I didn’t have a car, and he did . He said, ‘If you want, we can go,'” and so on. We drove up to Verlin one evening, and I bought the Nintendo 64. Then Zelda came out, the first King of Time. Yeah, and it was insane. I loved it. It wasn’t really my kind of game, but King of Time, I loved it. Then I got rid of my Nintendo 64 , and Zelda: Majora’s Mask came out. Yeah. So I bought another Nintendo 64 to play that game. I didn’t get very far. I was completely lost. I gave up. The game was brand new , even the console. Wow, that’s awesome. So you were really into arcade games because you always had joysticks . Yeah. Oh, when I was a kid, I needed a joystick. So this is the jumbo one. Wait, what’s this one called, the jumbo? Yeah, that’s a Hong Kong thing. You can use it on several consoles. Oh no, that’s not the one I was thinking of. Oh no, it’s something else entirely. Oh, okay, right. OK. And the 3DO too, I saw the old 3D, the first one from Panasonic. Yes, Panasonic. This one’s the Gold Star. Yeah. And you see The Dark Knight Rapt? That’s a game I compared, we played it with several people, it was like a TV game show with lots of games. Oh yeah, it was for having a good time with friends and all that. We really liked it. This was a Capcom Street Fighter controller, a special Street Fighter edition. I still have the box, it should be around here. It’s here. Yeah, exactly. And you could plug it into the Famicom or Super Famicom. And to tell you the truth, I kept so much stuff that I still have the stickers. Oh yeah. But that controller, I didn’t like it. I preferred this one for the Super Famicom. You prefer this one? I don’t, I never got into that. So, what do we have in here? For example, if we’re talking about Sega here, well, here I’m on Street Fighter because here, we really have some crazy stuff from that era. A beautiful Street Fighter 2 art book with the game’s music. Oh yeah, yeah, that was released. But you see, it’s something that we didn’t really talk about at the time. It’s all stored away in the… Yeah, here I have some Sega. Well, I have the books, the Mega Force. After this, it’s the Sega club. So we ‘ll make a separate video, I think. We’re going to make a short video. You’re going to show us this. This is the NEC. These are books with tips and all the codes for certain games. Oh yeah, well, yeah. So, in Japanese, what I was doing was, I’d take my game, I knew how it was Written in Japanese. So I was looking, well, you had some that had the names, other names, and then you looked at the instructions, or yeah, that’s it. Oh, you have the original brochure, right? Yeah, what is it? It’s the kind of calendar that went, oh my ! And where was that distributed? I must have gotten it in a shop back then . Yeah, it was in the shops. You have the original Sody Peng ad. PCs as a fan. Ah! Get that out , get that out. So, there was one in the video, and when I rewatched the video, I thought, “But that’s funny, I have that one, it’s great.” I still have Sody Peng manuals. No, the manuals. Yeah. No, and these are the Sody Peng ones, actually, these are the French versions. These aren’t the official manuals. These are the extra manuals. Oh yeah, you’re serious. Oh yeah, we’re going to talk here. It’s… Ah, that’s beautiful. That’s beautiful , Fury 2. That’s very, very beautiful. Wow, to have the ad. Oh my. And these are the things you had to pick up in the shops. That’s what it meant back then. Uh, I mean, they gave them out in the shops, inevitably. Because if you got it, you didn’t buy it. You got it back then, you must have picked it up in a shop they had. I remember for World Heroes 2 when it came out, they had it. Well, I wasn’t… I didn’t have a car and all that. I took the train because the game was selling for 1400 francs, you know. I’d saved up all that money, I absolutely had to have it, and I didn’t want to spend it all on the train. I took the train there and hitchhiked back. I traveled 100-120 kilometers for World Heroes 2 to get it from the store and everything. You see, that’s when you had the console, I had loads of friends coming over. It annoyed my dad after a while because we were spending hours on it. Wait, let me look at this. What’s this? That’s an ARBO. It’s an ARBO. Okay. And here you have three of the same thing. So yeah, basically, I think you had it because there are different versions of this one. Yes. So I think you must have picked them up at the store. Yes. Well, I knew the owner well, so he must have given me some stuff. Oh, it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful. You really made me happy there. Oh my. DJ David, it’s… And that’s where we see your profile, actually. That’s where we discover, we discover you even better. Uh, back then the “I’ll come to your place” formula wasn’t what it is today, and we get to know you. You traveled hundreds of kilometers for a game, you know? Oh yeah, well, not all the time, you know. Yes, but in this case, you did it at least for a game, you know. There are a lot of posters here, not all of them, that I had, like I have all the consoles plus all the joysticks from the magazines. I kept everything. You have them all? Yeah, these are some posters from the magazine. You’ve made yourself a beautiful thing, you’ve made yourself something really beautiful. I like it. It’s your own personal museum, you know? I tried them again, but one of them doesn’t work anymore, it’s the Saturn. It’s the diode. Well, the LED, well, the lens, sorry. All that stuff, I don’t know anything about it. And here we have magazines. Ah, a small section. Yeah. So, you see, it was a shop when they sold things, they had bags. I have the same one, but bigger, with the logos. Open it, open it please. Go ahead, open it. Which shop is it? I honestly don’t even remember if it’s the one in Mess where I used to go. Arcadoïde. Arcadoïde, that was its name. It was… Yeah. Related to the name, the game Arcanoïde. And they were Arcadoïde. Okay. Yeah, because there wasn’t a little character’s head on it? No. Uh, well, I think I still have a catalog from them. Show us that or an ad? But I can’t. Show us that. Yeah. Okay, Those are the magazine covers. Oh yeah. No, but those are Mo’s. And what? And we’re still going on about this, these are yours from back then, they’re really your magazines. And my internet back then, which didn’t have internet and all that, and let’s say this was what they were like when they started bringing out the old magazines where you had all the classified ads. O Case au Case, you know I love that, I still have loads. That’s where I started finding toys, and there were little articles about consoles too. They did articles on the Mega Drive, on the Saturn, I still have loads at home. I have my own from back then. I have my own from back then too, and I loved it, I adored it, it was the classified ads, and at the same time there were articles about consoles when they came out over time. Those are the VHS tapes. Promotional, and here, on the other hand, it’s the controller. Yes, it’s for the PS3. Okay. OK. OK. Excuse me. So yes, so promotional cassette here too, game demos and all that. Nintendo 104, go Sega cassette. It’s nice to see that. Al, that’s from back in the ’80s, I wanted the Amstra 6128. Yeah. My dad didn’t want it, and he wanted a computer for himself too. So he didn’t want it to be just for games. So he bought an Amstrat PC 152 with two disks. And I got a few games. Well, this one was when I played in the arcade. Go ahead, show me a floppy disk if you don’t mind. You know that’s not common at all. What you’re showing me, the disks, that speaks for itself. No, but no, but no. So you know what? I’ll tell you, Grayor. So maybe I’m wrong and all that, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen Grazer like this because I was looking for Grazer on floppy disk. Yeah. But to have it like this, you’re… you’re discovering me. I knew it. So maybe he calls it a contract. Yeah. Super contract. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Contract. Contract. And these were what arcanoids. And so these are, uh, PC games, 15 , and well, and of course, Dragon, you know. Ah, but so your gror for me, games of… Yeah. Of… Yeah. Then, I have iconic, I had that one. Well, I don’t really… Yeah. Little Bom. Oh yeah. And the little… the little catalog you were telling me about, you know, the flyer for your shop, you might have it here? Uh, I don’t remember where I put it. Oh really? Yeah. Well, it doesn’t matter. You’ll see it, I’ll put it in as an overlay. We saw it in an overlay like that. It’s beautiful. Namcotte information. This one too. Great game Dracu X. Did you play that one to death? Oh yeah. Anyway, it was the first CD console that came out and at the time it was extraordinary, just the sound and everything. Yeah. Especially since at the beginning it speaks in German and everything. Yeah. So have we seen pretty much everything we needed to see here ? Yeah. I have in my other stash, I have the other magazines that I’ll show you. Yeah, you really made us happy there. That belonged to my brother-in-law. I got some magnets, it’s another collection of products. Yeah, we can see that you really kept a lot of things from your time. But this is… Yeah, I got this recently. We can see you’ve kept a lot of things, huh? Okay, so one. So, what’s going on? There are, what do you mean? There are these “choose your own adventure” books. Here, we used to have the movie theater. That’s it. And like I said earlier, I lost my brother four years ago, and I was able to get a good part of his things. He collected a lot of things related to movies. He had a lot of DVDs and all that, a lot of music too. So, I haven’t been able to organize that yet. And so I got, well, everything, all these movies, all these DVDs, and some toys, like cars and all that, that are related to movies. Okay. And so, I rearranged my room and I blew everything up in there. And then… There’s another one here too. That’s it. There you go. So which one do we choose? That’s it. No, but that’s it. And what’s here? Well, here again, it’s the same thing, related to my brother’s memories, we kept… well, my father kept everything, all our toys, everything we had when we were kids, and my brother got a good part of it. So I was able to get practically everything, almost everything. And uh, there are my things from when I was a kid, from my teenage years too, from the 90s. No, but it’s crazy, all my stupid stuff from my childhood, stupid gadgets, you know. And uh, I have all my things here, I have my Dragon Ball Z collection, all the cards I had, the posters, everything I bought and manga, well, the other stuff. What’s there? There are these collector cars that my brother also had, so I got them, and I recently found these tables and necklaces that looked like… well, tables and necklaces from the 70s and 80s. I bought two that I found for cheap and put them in this room and sorted things out. So don’t say, don’t say, keep it to ourselves. There you go. So that means, well, you know you’ve driven me crazy. So wait, which one are we doing? Choose Your Own Adventure books. Come on, let’s go, let’s go there. No, but you’ve driven me crazy! Oh, but no, but this… so this is related to TV, to movies. Oh my, but we can already see right away, there’s stuff everywhere. But it’s evolved like crazy. So here, this is his whole collection of DVDs, Blu-rays and everything that was made. Oh my, it’s a tribute. And here, we can see the Tast much better. Yes, I have it here. I put it on a piece of furniture with the little spaceships underneath, and so on. Look at that. I’ll do a little pan. Yeah. So this was his too? There are some things of mine as well, but much less. But I added my pieces that were related to cinema, you know. Like the Batman ones and all that. So where do we start here in this room? What do you want to show us, and what do we have? Well, DVDs, I mean, simply. Okay, these are DVDs. That’s all the anime series he had. This was for his 40th birthday; we gave him the Bandai GX4 Gold when it came out. Okay. And when Teito released Arcadia, Death Shadow 2, and Atlantis in Japan, I ordered one too. Okay. So this is his. There you go . Okay. Wow! Honestly, he had a ton of books, I couldn’t include everything about stars, celebrities, singers, bands, actors, comedians, all that. It’s actually an extension of… it’s kind of his memory, so to speak. This is kind of… well, I know he would have liked to be able to buy a house later. He had plans to do a lot of things. So, he wanted to blow up, he wanted to tidy up, and all that. I’m trying to… Was he older brother or younger brother? We were a year apart. He was older brother. He was born in ’73 or ’74. Okay. Yeah. You guys really know your stuff . Yeah, it’s… And what’s this here? It’s the man who stole 3 billion. Yeah. Almost naked. Yeah. Same here, from that era. Oh yeah, that’s a vintage toy. Yeah. Well, your vintage one, that’s what I mean. No, no, that’s my sister who got it from a brand that gave it to us. Okay. The Nunes were big fans of the Nunes. I did n’t even know that book existed. But he had it when I found it among his things. Oh yeah, this room is really cool because it was actually your movie room back then. Yeah. And so it’s already decorated. It’s kind of… You can see the walls are a bit gray. It’s beautiful. And this, it was yours then? So yeah, the Toys is mine. But it ‘s amazing. You didn’t have it back then? Yes, it was there, it was his side. Okay. I don’t remember exactly, but this is a piece, this was his old Mister T toy that he loved . It’s a real centerpiece of his. This is Mister T, it’s his. Wow, he collected all the movie soundtracks. All of them. These are all movie soundtrack CDs. Some of them are really rare. Yeah. Yeah. As a huge movie soundtrack fan, this is… Oh yeah, this is amazing . I think there are 80 in total already. Oh yeah, this is amazing. These are music DVDs. I haven’t been able to get them yet. He’s a big fan of Peaches Mode. Yeah. Ah, these were Peaches Mode and all that. That’s cool. It was our childhood toy. Yeah. This one is his. Mine is in the other room. Yeah. And we still have the cardboard collector. Yeah, cardboard. You really were, you’re from a family of conservatives, you know. Yeah, a penny saved was a penny earned. My father was very, very careful. Well, like many people, good for you, with his money and all that stuff, and every expense had to have, well, it wasn’t, well, it was n’t going to be thrown away, you know. Because frankly, I think that people, all the video games we saw there, well, concretely, you’re the only person I filmed. Well then, that’s clear, and I think there must be very, very few people. I’m not even sure there are five people left in France who have the video games we saw who have kept so many from that era. Because I can tell you that I’ve kept some, but I’ve kept maybe thirty, you know. Or you, you really, I don’t think there are as many who have kept as many as you. You’re very conservative. It’s great to see that. I want to start sorting things out a bit, but there are so many, you know. I did a bit of sorting, the Stallones and all that, but yeah, they gave me… Well, you’ve got plenty to do in terms of DVDs. Oh yes, yes , but this Foco Millennium, it drives me crazy every time. Oh, it drives me crazy. It’s really magnificent, isn’t it? I still haven’t cleaned it, by the way. A little bit, but that’s… And you, have people contacted you after you came to your place to possibly buy it from you or not? Uh, no, buy it from me, no, no, it’s often that when I post things, sometimes I get messages. You’re selling, you’re selling, you’re selling, you say? So, does that mean this one can be disassembled? Oh no, no, it can’t be disassembled. You just remove the barrels, the antenna, that’s all. But how exactly do you get it through there? I saw it go through the window. Oh yeah, well, because there’s a window there behind it. Okay, right. Oh yeah, it’s a tight fit because it’s 1.40 meters wide. So the window is exactly 1.40 meters wide too. So it’s not like we had to use a BIA (Blind Spot Inspection), but it just barely fit . It’s an extraordinary piece you have there, though. I think it’s an amazing piece. And it was released, as I explained, for the stash boxes, the TV cassettes in Toys “R” Us stores, and uh, a lot of them were damaged, broken, and ruined, you told me 1000 at the time. Yeah, they’re numbered. And, uh, after the ones that remained in good condition, they held a contest, a sweepstakes, and you had to participate. Then, well, if you were the lucky winner, you received a voucher to get your Millennium Falcon. Okay. That’s how they were acquired by individuals, and we know roughly how many are left today. So, there’s a Facebook group in the United States that I joined not long ago that’s trying to list everyone who has one. So, for now, we’re, uh, I don’t know how many out of 1000, I don’t know anymore, we don’t know anymore, we don’t know anymore, we’re not, we’re not, we’re not, we’re not, we’re, a hundred, I don’t know anymore, a little over 100 anyway. Yeah. They were trying to register the owners because even back when it first came out, there were already collectors of this kind of thing. So, in fact, it’s true that there are certain things in The 80s point-of-sale displays. It’s true we talked off the record about Nono, especially there. Yes, the big Nono from the Samaritaine department store, the one that goes, “Yeah, he must be this big!” Well, it’s understandable that this one ended up in the trash. We didn’t have this collecting aspect and all that yet, but with Star Wars, I get the impression that from the very beginning with Kener toys , they went straight into collecting. They found, yes. Well, yes, it was right away. So this kind of object, you know, the Nono, I don’t know, there were maybe 20 for the stores and so on. Well, maybe that’s all that’s left. It won’t appeal to many people, fewer than Star Wars. But it wasn’t kept from the start. That’s what I mean. With the 1000 that came out right from the start, everyone wanted to get their hands on them. So it’s not like we just said yes, it went in the trash. I saw the box. There’s a box with it. It’s just a rough cardboard box, but it’s the right size for this thing. No, no, but I think there must still be quite a bit of that left. Yes. Yeah. Well, it’s a really beautiful piece. And now, here, you already had these busts, if I remember correctly? Yes. You already had these? These are quite imposing busts. Yeah. They’re beautiful, they’re beautiful. And yeah. No, they’re not to scale because… because we made a… You remember with this? But they’re to scale. Yes. Yes. But you know, when I rewatched the video, I think they are to scale. You’re right, I’m telling you. No, because when you see that, you see. That’s it, that’s what we’re going to do. We’re not going to start over. That’s it. When you put the figure in there, the figure, let’s say that compared to the film, it’s not really to scale because it’s big. But of course. Yes, but it’s really made to scale. Yes, yes, but it’s true that looking back, when you rewatch the video, when I rewatched the video, I thought, but actually, the character… Yes. That’s proportionally, that makes sense. Well, when we were little, my brother had Luke, I had Yoda. I don’t even know if… And now you’re going to tell me that it’s his original one . Yes, it’s his. Yeah, yeah, original. Yeah. Oh, go ahead, present it to see that if it were next to the cockpit… Yeah, for me that’s worth it. Yeah, if it’s… Yeah, for me that’s worth it. It’s worth it in hindsight. H Toys, they released the cockpit for the action figures. Oh yeah, a 6th and everything. And so, it’s cool, it’s about that size. But no, but I’m going to digress a bit because… Yeah, yeah. Like I… But so, can we go into the other room, in that sense? We’ve pretty much covered everything here. Yeah. The other room, which is, uh, 80s/90s style, is that the idea? Yes. Late 60s. Well, from our childhood when we started seeing toys at Christmas and all that. But then, am I wrong if I said that, well, here are DVDs, it’s recent, but actually it’s a museum, it’s your museum, in fact, right? Yes, or rather, let’s imagine that today you were public figures. You would have, we could say, well, there you go, DJ David, the games he had when he was a child, but it’s kind of like that. It’s your, it’s your museum, you know. Go ahead, I’ll leave you to it. It’s your museum, yours and your brother’s, actually. Oh, there’s a museum I went to visit, I went to the south to Frégus last summer, and there’s a museum that recently opened called Bien Joué. It’s a very nice toy museum. And it was opened by a gentleman, a collector, and he did something I’d really like to do. Then, I wonder how you can make a living from it. That’s the thing. That’s the thing. I’d love to do that. But how do you make a living from it? Oh look, these are old pins. Oh yeah, look, Street Fighter. Oh, look, Arcanoïde the shop. Oh yeah, well done, well done. Come on, let’s go see the next one. Oh yeah! Ah, I’m crazy. Oh yeah! And these are your toys from back then? Yeah. No, but you are, but you see when I say these are your toys. We had, yeah. We were very spoiled when we were little. Well, at birthdays, at Christmas, we never had pocket money . We didn’t have what we had at the beginning of the year, there were, there were, never had that stuff, but we were spoiled, to play, and my father did the shopping every Saturday at Leclerc and all that stuff, we always went with him, we made things when we saw things. But it’s really yours. But that’s what I was saying two seconds ago, but I wasn’t saying it, but we ‘re not even talking about it anymore. But it’s yours, and uh, I had… well, my sister, my sisters-in-law work in factories, and they had, uh, every year with the works council, you know, catalogs to order toys that were much cheaper than in stores. Yeah. So my dad, it’s true that it was cheaper, so he bought them for us, he took advantage of it. That means that everything we see here, even here I was filming, these are your little trucks. It was, it was his collection. He loved construction vehicles, and uh, he… I only had one, I had this one, and he started with, I don’t remember which one, and then little by little he bought the others. Okay. And that was his collection. He was a fan of that. And then recently, what’s weird, I went to some kind of store and, uh, I came across this box. I took it symbolically. Symbolically? Yeah. Plus, it was his birthday. Well, it would have been his birthday not too long ago. So symbolically, I gave it to him for €6. Wow! So I took it. It’s brand new. You know, he didn’t have it, so I just gave it to him, you know, continuing his collection. Yeah, in a way. So that means those little pistols we see here were mine, and he had them when I was… Ah, THX TH. Yeah, TH3 Project, what’s that? Oh yeah. Ah, well, that’s it. TH3. Ah, there you go. And that was a really crazy toy, plus it looked a lot like one of Captain Harlock’s pistols back then. I was a huge fan of that stuff, and yeah, it’s all that stuff. And you see all the Playmobil and everything that was in the attic? Well, my brother cleaned them up. Okay, they’re practically new. We were really careful with them. The Lego is the same; some are missing, there are things I haven’t found. I don’t know, you know? Yeah, you have things you haven’t found, so that means all those toys, some things are missing. All those toys really speak to you. Oh yeah, yeah, that’s why. It’s not like I’m looking for, like, the variant of that car or something, because they’re yours. You don’t want to mix them up, maybe with some new ones. Yeah. Well, I’m not trying to start a Playmobil collection or anything, but no, it’s really what we had, and that, well, it has an unimaginable power, unimaginable power since he left . It’s something else. You see, we even cut out the boxes. Yeah. You know, Bougard and everything . Yeah. Oh yeah. Oh no, but seriously, it’s crazy. But even this is really yours. Yeah, this is really 70s. Yeah, yeah, yeah, like the one at the very top, it’s insane. So, what else do we have? I’m taking a look here. I’m doing a little pan here. It’s mind-blowing. But you get the impression that… But to think that it’s there, this one, I love this one. But of course, it makes… This is recent. It’s not… It’s… it’s a real gem. It’s because I have the same thing, I picked it up at a flea market a few years ago and they reissued it not long ago too. Okay. They made… this isn’t the reissue, this is the original. And actually, you’ll see, it takes, well, and then you could pull on tabs and all that, it’s a pop band, you know. It’s pop. I had that when I was going At the summer camp, and for me, it was when I went to the library with school, you know, in elementary school, and every time I’d look at it, and it was like, “I loved that one.” I have it at home. I love this one. And to find it in such good condition? Yeah. Yes. Yes. Because it actually breaks here. It’s fragile, you know. And kids pull on it, like, seriously. Amazing. It’s great that you have this. And here, I think, you can pull the thing here. There you go, you have the crocodile, I think. There you go. No, but you, you’ve seen this, you’re going to run to buy it. You know, we’re going to run out of stock because there are so many. We all went through that in our generation. Oh yes, yes. And this one too, I bought recently. Go ahead and say that these are the two things I recently bought here. It’s because I was a huge Dinoomir fan when we were kids. It started in ’74. I don’t even know about that. And this manager is friends with a kid, and it was the one I loved making for his birthday with the big cake. Well, that’s why I became a baker after a little fling, maybe, I don’t know. So, this is the step I took, the one I told you about earlier, where I bought and I make little scenes with things we had at school. Because, like, my dad kept all our school stuff. You know, I got this felt-tip pen. I got this one not long ago. You’re going to tell us about it, but this was awesome, this big one, our generation . We’re going to talk about it, we’re going to talk about it. So tell me. Yes. Yeah. So this was my math notebook and all that, and I still have you in there. I put away all the boxes we had. We had these at school that we had to sell to raise money for a sticker outing. You’re crazy! And these are your old things? Mine and my brother’s too. But it’s… We live in another world here. How is it possible that you guys kept all this? Well, yeah, guys, all happy, talking about your dad because your dad… Yeah, no, but seriously, this belonged to my sister who… No, no, but wait, no, you’re not going to tell me that phone was yours. Uh, no, we got a phone very late. Okay. OK. No, this belonged to my brother-in-law, well, to my sister and brother-in-law. Okay. But it’s still a family thing, you know. Ooh. Yes. Oh yes, yes. But the stool, no, those aren’t my buddies. Yes, they are. Well, I’ll tell you something. 70, and that’s what I learned archery with, my brother and I. We were having fun, you know, we were really little back then. And we’d drag him around with the stool. And you walk like that? Yeah. And I fell, hit my head on the radiator, and got my scar. Oh my god. But that’s why I went crazy. It’s insane. It’s insane. So, you were saying those were your pencils too. Yeah. And I took loads of photos with loads of different scenes that I posted, and I have fun making crazy drawers, you know? Like here, you see, well, an old gypsy package from back in the day. But it’s not… Yes, that, on the other hand, you got that. Uh, no, but it’s from that era. Yes, but it’s not the one you had in the family. Uh, I do n’t know, actually. And my father, he was alarmed in the 50s, all that. And I still have a box, he bought it, he used to bring back the packs of cigarettes. I still have brand new packs of cigarettes from the 50s and all that stuff. And that was great. Oh yes, they did that on purpose, you see, the same thing in schoolyards, a color, you had something underneath. And is that a keepsake? No, no, that’s recent. Rent was just for fun. OK. Oh dear. Spain 82. Oh, and my father kept so many TV Guides every day. I found some TV Guides, well, I’m going to stop asking this question because it’s no longer possible. Everything is yours What? Everything’s yours! That’s when you realize how unique what we ‘re seeing here is. It’s completely unique. You see, back in the day, we had He-Man. I only had He-Man, and we had the other ones. Yes, the Galaxy Warriors, that’s the same. I’ll show you the plushies later too. Yeah. You know Bernard and Blanca, right? Yes. Then Ernie and Bart, Bart and Ernie. Yeah. Yeah. And we had catalogs like I was telling you about earlier. Yeah. Same. My dad kept all the catalogs, and I started collecting them. So, I have some recent ones, I have some that are… well, from when we were kids, you know, we had this one. This one’s ours. It’s the one we had. You see, you had everything. That’s what my dad ordered a lot of our Christmas toys from, the ones you see here. That’s an S I recently found, a 31. Okay. That was mine back then. You… But wait, playing in the ’80s, but it’s a… it’s a thing… I do all the… it’s the toy catalogs from the ‘ 70s, ’80s, and ’90s too. Yeah, I have the ’70s ones. Oh my goodness. And you see here, I have one from ’79. I think that’s the one I wanted to show you. It’s from my year. Yeah. When I was born, that’s what my dad ordered. And that’s where you see, we got the one my dad ordered, you see, for 69.46 francs. He had it much cheaper. So, wait, I’m going to repeat myself again. Is that your dad’s handwriting ? Yeah. So this is yours from that era. Oh yes, yes. So we had this one, we had this, we had other things, and I think it’s in this one that the stuffed animals are. No. Oh yes, right. Well, the four stuffed animals you see over there, they come, you see, they come from this catalog. They were ordered from this catalog. You can’t imagine. So this, this is it, for you, it must have value. There you go. It’s, but you know that for you it’s a, you know, I even want to tell you what we’re seeing here today would be, you know, it’s not true, but a museum today would have these objects, saying that they belonged to a person, to a child, and this would list the catalogs, the toys, the things, the, that’s even the appeal of saying we’re going to visit a family’s collection. Yeah. I think it would be so, so unusual. I could show you loads of catalogs . You see, I still have some. I have tons of store catalogs, you know, Monoprix, Leclair, Carrefour, you know, a lot from the ’90s, and you should be able to find them, but I could spend a whole day rereading them. And on Facebook groups, I post entire catalogs, and I get a lot of feedback from people who recognize things they had. Oh yeah. And you have some, well, I see here, for example, you have some stuff from that era, and you have some others—sorry, I’m filming badly, I’m so… you have other things like that, stuff like that, a little bit like this. What’s that? It was the sponge for the slate. Yeah. Ah yes, we’re typing all that stuff, uh, into something to peel off. Yeah. Okay, so I’m going back to the TV Guide magazines. You know the one with Dr. Snuggles? Actually, you sorted through the ones that had covers that were full. There are a lot of them because once, you posted photos on Facebook, but piles of piles of piles of piles of piles of TV Guide magazines from back then and all that. Go on, get them out for me. No Kinder Surprise eggs from back then. Oh yeah. Oh, the Kinder Surprise eggs, what are they, school supplies, that’s all, magazines, instruction manuals, all that, Lego, well, pretty much everything. Yeah, there’s really everything, I have to do the same, I have to sort through it. Oh yes, I loved that. Lego was really something we loved playing with. Yeah. So what do we have next? So we’re staying a bit in Old stuff. That was my ’90s period, more or less. You know, I used to make model kits, the Gunam ones… Yeah, that’s it. I got that one when I was little. Yeah. And I’d get frustrated because I couldn’t turn it into a plane. What turns it is a model kit. Oh, and you put that here because I keep it somewhere else. It’s to show. These are Captain Future sheets. But you could have put them in your collection downstairs, but since they’re yours… No, no, those weren’t mine. Yes, there are a couple of other bits and pieces nearby. That was my wallpaper. My brother had some trucks because he liked trucks, and this wallpaper was a bit of a throwback to Battle of the Planets and Tetsujin too. Wait, wait, wait, wait. You see that toy there? Wait, that’s your old wallpaper from back then. Well, I didn’t put it in my room, but my dad bought us each a roll. My dad got the truck ones. Okay. And I got this one. And you can find that toy in there. Well, you can find some Battle of the Planets toys in there. And you never have it? No. We only had one roll each. So what was the roll for? Well, just because we wanted it. He went to a wallpaper shop, and I found this a few years ago. Captain Future wallpaper. I see that. I see that. I found it in the meantime. Oh yeah. You know, I have a picture that a lot of people liked where I’m with my brother and with the Captain Future poster behind them, and I managed to find it. Yeah. Well, I finally managed to find that poster. Okay. Yeah. After all these years, there were some nice posters. I got my hands on it. Yeah. These are our old marbles. There were mine and his. We each had our own box. Oh my. These are the game boxes from the 70s that we had. Oh wait, don’t tell me that’s… that’s a vintage lotto game. Yeah. Uh, I got this from my brother-in-law’s house. My sister’s parents ran a small shop—not a bakery, a grocery store, a bakery and all— and they kept the pouches. These are my firecrackers too. I had some. These are some of yours too, that you kept but hadn’t used. A few fireworks as well. Yeah, 4 francs for my pistols, my toys, and right there, above, I can tell you, above, I’m sure it’s… well, those are things you got from them? No, that was ours, same here. You see, you had a lot of things, those pull-tabs, toys to get, I don’t know about that. But yeah, yeah, totally. Those pull-tabs, those big things, you had them in the street back then, you had them in the street, right? I know, at the funfairs, you know . Well, I had them in the street in Noisil-Sec, in particular. Earlier, I told you about an arcade I used to go to when I was young, it was called the Banz in Barle. Okay. A bit sticky. The yo-yos, the scales with the head of that. That’s stink bomb spray. Oh, really? Okay. Then, well, the Executor, that’s a yes. And this too, it’s a keychain that’s over 30 years old, it was really early 90s and it still works. I mean, for kids, like, “no smoking” or something. There you go, I love the idea. And the Executor, I think it still works too. Lots and lots of gadgets. I liked little gadgets. This was my brother’s stereo. He spent hours and hours on it. He mixed with cassettes and all that. Oh yeah, absolutely. Oh yeah, he did a lot of things. This was my old stereo too, with the stickers you put up yourself. Yeah. Oh my god, my TI-30, is that a calculator? Yeah. Yeah, that’s it. It’s boxes of chips that move to the music. But what else is this? This is A comb. Oh yeah, we have it. Oh yeah, that thing. Yeah, I don’t need it anymore. Well, even when I came back then, you didn’t need it anymore. Yeah. Well, here, the… Oh, is that the one or is that yours? Yeah. Oh yeah, that’s the one I showed you earlier in the blister pack. Okay. A lot of broken bits. Francs, I kept that. Yeah, I got one of those there. But you have the base. Oh yeah, it’s crazy what you’ve kept. Yeah, that’s… Yeah, it’s amazing to have looked at all that, honestly, I’m just looking at it here. Wow! Wow! And if your room ever catches fire, it’s impossible to ask that question here. Yeah, it’s impossible. There’s no object that ‘s anything but your old stuff. Often when I ask the question, it’s because ultimately people often choose the object they had when they were children. Yes, yes, but there are some everywhere. But there are some everywhere. It’s… So wait, because we haven’t seen a bit more above. There was also… Ah, here, maybe there too. Well, there are so many everywhere. There are all my… Ah yes, okay. Yes, the cards, I started selling them a little because I have loads of them, in trip, in duplicate, in hundreds of times more, you even see all this stuff. That’s when you realize, in fact, that yeah, you’re really from the previous generation. You were really immersed in it. So, I wanted to film a little bit here too. So there, on the other hand, there, this one, you added it on the 31st. Uh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. You guys were kind of spoiled, weren’t you? You were lucky, weren’t you? And you put it back here too. You got it? Yeah. Other Jo, jij jo. Well, there you go, you think we did a little… Oh no! Oh no! Because I thought that was it. No, there’s something else inside. Yes, that’s all. I was telling you, well, it’s the continuation of what I just showed you. The Dragon Ball cards and all that. Oh yeah, I still have loads in there, introduce yourself. Oh, you never stopped, huh? Oh, I got hold of a stock of cards. I think I’ll go there. So, a whole stock of these that I’m going to put down. It’s a seizure, these are RAM cards. No, it’s… if they’re RAM cards. No, no, these aren’t official. They’re not official. These are beautiful collections, okay. And this is stock I have that was seized from, well, I think it was Chez Amour in Paris, I believe. I got it from the shop I was telling you about earlier. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Oh yeah, that’s crazy. You have some amazing stuff. And here, we can see you have all the magazines too. Here are the gamepads and the consoles. Okay. Yeah, I see that. So, I see, you started quite early actually. Well, right from the beginning. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I have them from the first to the last, and there are some I can’t find anymore. I don’t remember where I put them. The first to the last of what, for example? Well, that’s more, I have them from the first to the last. I don’t have them, I have them from the first to the last. I also have the Player One games, but I… So you don’t have them all here, is that right? Yeah. Yeah, there are quite a few though. Click. Ah, what do we have here? Well, here too, there are still things we had when he was a kid, all those transfers. I don’t know if you remember that. No, but actually, we need to come back to that later, right after, you know. I want to talk about that. Here I have all the TV Juniors, just like we had the TV Juniors, we also had the Mickey Mouse Magazine, all that stuff. There were loads of things. These are the Animland ones. Yeah, yeah, Animland. And here’s… Yeah, 14 and 15. Ah yeah, these are really the very first ones . They’re wrecks in there, old toys. No, but how can he say that? Wrecks of old Toys? Well, that’s classified. No, wait, look, I see the saucer and all that. But I’d love to have your thing, your wreck there. What’s this all about? It’s all wrecks. It’s crazy stuff. No, but seriously, wrecks. This is the French version . So what’s the difference? M in France. OK. M in Italy, I think. Yeah, okay. And the color, you see, color, yes. Well, yes. Maybe it’s yellowed with the temple. Well, yellowed, figuratively speaking. Yeah, I don’t know. [ __ ] You know it, right? Chocop. Oh yeah, okay. OK. Yeah. No, I don’t know that. Oh yeah, it never stops. And then this one there, the one that’s there, when we were at school once a year, you remember, it was your generation, like mine, I think. Well, I don’t know, but when we were in school, once a year we had an awareness session, I remember, about everything related to teeth and so on, and for a few years there were stickers. I collected them, stickers and all that. They’d come and give them to us. That’s awesome. And we’d do coloring. By the way, this isn’t yours. Yes, it is. So you’re the one who colored this? Well, yes. If it’s in my things. Well, it was me or my brother who colored it. But yeah. Oh, it’s crazy. And then in the magic drawer, damn, I dropped some marbles. Oh, you bastard! Oh, you bastard! You waited for the woman to show it to me because you know I’m looking for it, you bastard. When I posted it on Facebook, I got tons of messages. You’re selling, you’re selling, you’re selling. What a [ __ ] He waited until the last minute. You thought, “I’ll wait for the last one.” I knew he wanted to see it. Oh no, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, you sly devil. So, this is it, it’s true you don’t often see them fall. Packaging, you know. And so, once again, this is what you kept, and it’s the packaging, the scratch-gum. So, wait, I ‘m… And it doesn’t appeal to everyone, greasy gum, you see. It stayed there for a long time. There you go, it didn’t have the same success as the trash. Exactly. And actually, you had to scratch it. Yeah. In certain places, and it was pleasing. And there’s still the smell there, or it smelled like… I remember a little bit of pepper and all that, but I didn’t really look for it either. I think it doesn’t smell anymore, huh? I have one that smelled a little bit, you know. It smells a bit like broth, you sly devil. But there ‘s one that hasn’t been rubbed too much, DJ David. It’s not usually in there. You really put it in there on purpose. That one smells… Go on. So, show me. It smells like… It smells a bit like broth, well, soup. Oh yes, there’s another one, and as I was saying, you deliberately left it in there, like the last thing, the Zelda drawer. Ah, well done, well done. So, we’ve gone around. I often ask this question too. So, I want to tell you, you know, the object I liked the most—I often say this—the object I liked the most in your collection, there are so many. But finally, it’s this one. It’s true that I completely forgot. It’s the object I like the most, it’s your eraser… No, for me, there are lots of objects, there are so many. Um, what’s the long-term plan for your collection? The evolution, um, how so? Is it going to continue, meaning, are you going to stop, are you going to sell, what’s the deal? Because we get the feeling you’ve kind of moved on to something else in the meantime. No, I’m not looking for anything. I see, I don’t go on eBay like I used to to look for parts and all that, but I’m not looking for anything. If I find something, if someone offers me something, why not? But no, I’m not into anything anymore. You’re not into it? You’re not into that at all anymore. It’s really that I’ve rebuilt something based on everything we had when we were kids. And the question I’d also ask you, well, come on, let’s talk about video games. Um, the tone… Ah ah ah, yes. I still had that one too. Well, you showed it to us back then, actually. Yeah. Oh yes, I loved it. I remember, we were like, “Wait, it’s impossible to find and all that.” Do you have another one? Well, like I was saying earlier, my sister’s in-laws, well, my stepfather’s parents, they work in a bakery, so they kept some. No, but wait, it’s not even just your family, they keep everything, everything, everything around you, people keep everything, really. And you didn’t have that one back then. So, no, they didn’t, you see, I got this one, I have a duplicate. Are you serious? You have a duplicate? Oh, you didn’t have that one? It’s so beautiful! Wait, wait, I was filming that one. Wait, wait, wait. But I really want to eat some ice cream right now. I really want to eat some. I don’t know about you, but it makes me want some so badly. So, this one is… and this one is even better, you have it in triplicate. That means there are some that still have the prices. Yeah, that means you have it in triplicate here. There are some that I have in duplicate. Yeah. Well, here you have it in three. Yeah. Well, I have the cardboard version and I have the plastic version. Here, I have… It’s a version that hung on the wall. Okay. This one too, I think, but I mean, they’re not the same versions. It’s cardboard. They’re duplicates. How I wish I could find those ice creams today! Those flavors. Oh my goodness! Those watching the video who have n’t experienced these… Oh my god, these ice creams are amazing! And here, we have a pre-Gold card, the old-school kind too. Yeah, it’s a little less. Yeah, that one again. Yeah. You’ve made me want to eat ice cream. I think I’ll get some right now. Oh yeah, it’s great. And I was saying, yeah, and you, do you have another Grail today? Come on. Yeah, we’re actually going into the other room. And do you, do you have a Grail today? DJ David 55, sorry. Uh, do you have a Grail today? A Grail, Grail, because as I was saying, I have the impression that you’ve… well, it’s not even an impression, you told us, you’ve completely slowed down. We saw that you still found the robot not so long ago, the one who’s talking. That was really, uh, an opportunity that presented itself. That’s it. I wasn’t expecting it at all. But is there still a prize for it today? H Ulis 31. Yes, there’s the Uliss shuttle in a small box that I almost got several times, where I messed up, and it’s worth a lot. When I say messed up, I mean you missed out , you said no. Well, it was offered to me and all that, and then I asked a friend for advice, who didn’t give me good advice, by the way. Oh, he told me, “No, that’s not worth it,” and I wasn’t too sure. So I gave up on it. Someone else bought it and resold it for double. It was €1000 that he wanted to sell it to me for €1000. Yeah. And, uh, finally, someone bought it, sold it for 2000. And that was a long time ago? Oh yeah, yeah, maybe ten years ago even. Yeah, so I hadn’t been around yet back then . And, uh, no, well, it’s always the same things, but let’s just say I’m not looking. So, uh, that’s what I was going to tell you. Yeah, yeah, I have the feeling that you, you, I’ll see this guy in front of me, will say, “Hey, I’ll make you an offer, why not?” But I’m not looking, I’m not going to start searching. Okay. And what was it earlier, it’s true, when I asked the question, if your room is burning and so on. No, but there’s a question, what’s your favorite console object? It’s still the same then. So, console, OK. Well, that’s very good. It’s the NEC NEC for shoot-’em-ups and games related to, well, a lot of things Japan and all that. There are lots of cool little games. Yeah, but my question is, what’s the one item you’d take to a desert island? So, it would be a console, you could play on it, use electricity… But do you think there’s electricity? I mean, you really have to die and you have to take it. So, a console, first of all, tell me, a console, and an item from your collection, the most beautiful object you consider yourself to have, the most beautiful one you… it’ll be a toy, right, bro? But you’d take that one, among others. And the console, so it would be the PS Engine, I imagine. Yeah, PS Engine, or you’d take the PS Engine? Well, there you go, we’ve covered everything, you think we’ve covered it all, yet we’re already at 2 AM without even realizing it. Yeah, we could spend hours on this. There might be something you forgot to tell us. Otherwise, we’re going to make a video about the Sega club. You’re going to show us some of your stuff, and we might make a short video for the Backing Toys club members and the Tippers. Maybe we ‘ll take a look around and see if there are things you have that you think we could have talked about. But it was a real pleasure because, as I was saying, when I rewatched the video of my visit to your place from eight years ago, I realized we didn’t talk enough about you. Yeah. You think we’ve really gotten to know you better, and we’ve gone into a bit more depth, things that come back to me. It’s great. We’ve really gone further into your personality in a certain way, into your way of seeing things. Thank you so much for having us. Thank you. No, honestly, it’s been a real pleasure to come here. You can’t imagine, thinking you kept all these things, your dad, you kept all that. Yeah. It’s unique. Well, even for me, everything was in boxes, and when I took it all out little by little, you know, I wasn’t expecting to find so much stuff like that. But yeah, you think, “This isn’t possible, it’s crazy!” My brother had taken it home, he’d sorted it, cleaned it, and everything. No, we have them with the light on. Yeah, it’s crazy. Thanks everyone for watching this episode. Oh my god, I don’t know. Okay, let’s turn it off. Let’s stay here. Thanks everyone for watching this episode. Feel free to follow me on social media, Tip, Instagram, and so on. You still have your DJ David 55 page, a little less so. Well, I’m not on Facebook anymore, it’s David Grandizer. That’s all. So I’m putting it in the description so people can contact you. See you soon and thank you so much for having us. Alright, see you soon. Bye. See you soon.

Bonne visite
Can’t wait for this one 😊.✅🇺🇸🇫🇷
