What’s up, guys? Back in today with more Summer Hikari died, this time of episode 11. Um, honestly, last episode wasn’t the most memorable for me, so I can’t actually give too much of a recap to be honest with you. It was a lot of uh um verbal uh information about the kind of ongoings. Uh we entered this weird head place um cuz I think the people that got sacrificed were all beheaded. Uh again, there was a lot of information, a lot of exposition and dialogue, so it’s quite hard to keep up with even during the episode, let alone kind of a week after. But um yeah, hopefully we have a like a bit of a recap or something when the more important stuff does come up regarding that. Yeah, do let me know you guys. There was a very interesting scene between these two, wasn’t there, last week? A very short scene, but um yeah, do let me know what you guys think about this episode in the comments. As I said, it was only a few seconds, but scene of uh Cheeki’s father trying to look out for him was was quite the powerful one, wasn’t it? Shiki just kind of going upstairs and ignoring him. Oh, bloody hell. I can barely breathe through my nose. Barely more than usual. I can’t usually breathe through it too well anyway. But both no both nostrils are blocked right now. Like Jesus. I might be talking a bit funny. Mushy. Mushy. Mushy. Was it last week? We saw their little Mario map as well. I thought that was pretty cool. Have a little uh little look into more of their backstory, more of their history together. Ultra Man and Goa. The farmer’s head. Ultron man. Okay, that’s what they call him. That’s not true. The Godzilla movies, bunch of the ones from 70s, Godzilla is actually the hero. He’s going up against even worse kaijus a lot of the time back in those movies. Young Shiki needs to uh needs to check out some more kaiju movies like the uh quite the despair. Sorry. What kind this that back in the day and became Okubi summer. Jesus. Some of them just com busted. And that was all for her life. Wow. for one more night. Oh, that’s her. Oh my god, that’s her. The [ __ ] girl with glass has just been carrying about jeez. I think I did mention earlier on in this series plenty of like villages. They do uh they do like collecting people’s heads, shrinking them and wearing them and stuff, don’t they? That kind of very much reminds me of them. A lot of times they like ward off bad spirits and things. Nothing. It was a curse. I still can’t get over the terminology. We keep using keep calling other people’s fathers daddy. weird as like as a [ __ ] teenage boy. Maybe if you’re like two years old. Scary mom. Good. Well said. What kind of alternate world are we in? make a lot of sense there though, didn’t it? So, I didn’t actually realize that his relationship with his wife isn’t all that either. Interesting. Well, that was just Shiki’s head, right? He needs he needs to start wearing like choker or scarf or something. People want to start questioning what that thing is. Window triggers mass death. Supposedly they did. Perhaps he’s a genie. Perhaps he’s a uh what’s the other thing? I think I mentioned I don’t know if I mentioned this in this series, but um a jin. Perhaps he’s a jin. Perhaps he’s not exactly like a ghost or something. I mean, you can call anything an entity. I guess we’re entities. So, you can actually call anything an entity. I always just call it call these things entities cuz they’re just kind of really unknown to me. They’re a lot like Yo-kai, but I don’t really know. Um, yeah, perhaps it’s more like a gin slash a uh genie or some kind of wish granting kind of a god would be pretty accurate word a lot of people would say, but I don’t think this is I don’t know. Maybe a god is more accurate. I don’t know. Yeah, this this this does specifically stand out to me. This this scene the way he says that is that like like it would have to be obeyed if it was I’d kind of like to go back and watch that scene in full, but I uh I won’t right now. Okay, so yeah, a lot going on again at the start of today’s episode. A lot going on again terms of plot movement. That does that God’s requested exchange of a head. You read that and that is not what you think. You wouldn’t you wouldn’t be thinking the head consists of someone’s physical head there, would you? You’d think that I scratch your back, you scratch mine. Well, I’d take reading that, which is also quite funny. I literally finished watching Sleepy Hollow just yesterday that had a quite a similar thing going on with Decap. There was a lot of decapitated heads in that [ __ ] movie. It was pretty good though. It was quite rushed, but I do I did like it. Okay. So, there is Hikaru. Well, the entity from the 1500s. I mean, that visual is not like anything else we’ve seen, is it? So, goes back some time. But yeah, funny enough, I just I got around to watching Sleepy Hollow because I’ve recently been re-watching duran in it. And I think that inadvertently led me to watching Sleepy Hollow, which has a headless horseman, not quite a dollar hand in it. Chicken’s tastier than human. Is that true? I can’t ever say that. I mean, could Can you ever say that’s true because you’ve never tried eating human? How do you All right. Yeah. Try to [ __ ] kill me again. Yeah, it does sound like the main character, doesn’t it? Did he So he wasn’t So he was into girls then the human Hikaru The beast. at these points. There’s something here. Wait, what the hell? Control yourself. The hell. Look really hungry. Yeah, you do. What the hell? Just switch just like that. What specifically happened there? start holding it a little bit further back. So you start holding in that scene. I thought he was doing it like a joking way here to be fair. I don’t think that Oh, he did bring up Hitchy Sand from the uh maybe this is again something to do with the requests. Maybe this is like an old request kind of coming back up. It’s like programmed him in him or something from Shiki bringing up Hitch’s name. the talking head. I don’t know if she was talking, but the alive head. But no, I don’t think interesting point. I mean, in almost every horror movie I’ve seen that there has been a like a head that talks, they can talk or or like a head that’s been alive. But would they if if someone was to be beheaded and I know for a fact that they can be alive still for a little bit a little bit of time, would they be able to talk? I’d assume not. I’d assume they wouldn’t be able to talk, but maybe they could. I don’t know. Sorry, I just got distracted there. Um, but yeah, I think was that the trigger that set him off here? Like, what the hell was that? Have we seen anything like this from Hikaru so far? I don’t think I we’ve seen him in this state, but we haven’t seen him kind of quickly turn like this unless it’s been something that has been considered like lifeendangering or endangering to his safety or endangering to his identity. Uh, this seems very different from that, right? This seems more like it was triggered off of like not a primal kind of survival instinct. It was triggered off something else. If triggered is even the right word for it. Like I don’t know. Maybe maybe his just his um motivations just changed or I don’t know. I can’t I don’t I don’t know. That’s the That’s the way they say. I don’t know. We’ll see. I guess time to run though. That’s for sure. But yeah, like that scene there specifically makes me think he’s hungry. He’s hungry for that flame, that bright spark of Shiki. But you know what I really like about that? It’s quite subtle. The fact that he has to tell himself he has to run. Like that’s something you shouldn’t have to tell yourself. Like subconsciously you just like you have that flow response. But he had to literally like explain to himself he needs to run. I think that just shows how his kind of conditions are right now in terms of maybe living or dying and yeah, better than they were earlier on in the series where we do know he think he was prepared to die. But still, it kind of does give us a good depiction of where he’s at. Yeah. What did you just witness? What did you just witness? What did we Well, what did I witness, but what did that person just witness? Like, how much of that did they see? We didn’t quite get I was going to I was hoping we’ ride and we get a better look, but no, that was all that we did see of that person. First, who was that? And again, second, how much of that did this person see? Enough to not go up. Enough to not say anything and just go back down is is how much that person saw. That’s the one I did. I love that line delivery. Well done. Pick up this. Sorry to pause again so quickly. But classic I think it’s this is especially I mean it’s always it’s always kind of been a thing but especially in horror nowadays you you have a lot of these kind of horrific things in like the background of shots that you don’t realize. Um happened um I mean weapons just the other the week that that came out. It’s got a lot of like you watch it back and there’s a lot of shots where things are going on that you don’t realize. Um it’s a big thing in horror nowadays. I was going to say that about this shot here, but I think that is just a random girl walking home. Um, I thought this might have been something. You don’t really see it too much in anime. Not that I’ve watched many horror anime, but um I was thinking there might be something as to which this person here with the umbrella, maybe that’s someone of importance. They’re going into this um what this is called now. This tunnel I’ll call it. Um perhaps there’s going to be some kind of ghostly event going on in there perhaps. But um yeah, again I just wanted to pause just cuz like I said um I do find myself doing that quite often with horror movies cuz there is something like what what the hell did I just see there? You go back and pause and there’s some like horrific face or something. Well, this might be one of those. Oh, there is that there is that same umbrella. Right. Well, more than one person can have a pink umbrella, so guess we can’t be sure. Yeah. So, that was her that saw that. Okay. or the attraction will become more intense. I assume. But why? Like why then? Like I don’t know. Is that a word of doing to describe that? There’s more to that. Yeah. What an emotionally unstable young boy, isn’t he? So is a Really? So she is going to do something. Okay. Good. Honestly, I think that’s Well, I’m not sure if I’d say it’s the right decision, but I agree with her decision here. I do also kind of agree with this though. Maybe maybe maybe it is the wrong decision cuz in the long run it will hurt more. It’s almost like a leech. It just keeps sucking and sucking. might get a point where all the blood’s dried up. that her one of her kids. Dinosaur footprint look like a love heart. He’s been crying. Bless. Okay. Okay. Again, another very plotheavy episode today, wasn’t it? The last couple have been, which I’m not sure how I feel about. I mean, I like the fact we get a lot of plot. I’m not I would have maybe liked it a bit more spread out, if you know what I’m saying. Like, we’ve had steady amount of plot every episode to a degree, to be fair, but these last two, we have had an awful lot. Um, don’t get me wrong, we’ve had moments like this where we do focus on Hikaru and Shiki as well, but um I don’t know. I feel like for me again there could have been maybe a better spread of it throughout the season cuz as I as I keep saying we uh a lot of exposition going on about like the the past and such which is interesting but not the most interesting thing in the show for me. So, um, yeah, just would have been a bit more consumable perhaps, but if it was a bit more spread out just kind of feels like I’m not sure this is accurate, but it it’s it’s like when you started off with an absolute blast and it was like it was really good. But it does I wouldn’t say it’s going downhill now or anything, but it does it does feel like we’re not going to end off with a blast if you know what I’m saying. We’re not ending off on a kind of massively kind of um eyeoping, shocking, powerful kind of stuff in these last couple episodes. Yes, I’m really liking what we’re delving into, especially in the character department, but the plot stuff I’m liking as well, but it’s just not as interesting as the kind of character um relationship/p progressions for me. So, um, yeah, it does, for me anyway, it does feel like, um, it has it’s like you’d expect a series to end with a bang, but this start series kind of started and went all throughout the middle with a bang and then kind of ended off on a little bit of a wetter note at the end here in my opinion. Um, just like purely on the pacing type of things like yeah, I haven’t read the source material, so I don’t know. I don’t know for sure, but I feel like they could have spread out the exposition and dialogue of the backstory of like the uh the Indo family and such a little bit um in a way where it would make a bit more um I don’t know, not really sure how to word it to be honest with you. Hopefully, you kind of get what I’m saying there. But um yeah, another good episode. Again, lots of dialogue again talking about the Indos, what happened with them with the the whole kind of uh there’s a couple names for the gods, so I can’t remember them specifically, but Onuki or Nuki um what happened with the heads here kind of getting sacrificed uh bringing just that one head back specifically, which is the um head that we saw the guy with the glasses using a fair few episodes back, which is interesting. Um again, I really like the stuff regarding, especially at the end here. I really liked seeing Hikaru. Well, I say I liked it was never nice seeing someone in this kind of emotional state, but um it was I I yeah, you guys know what I say. When I say I like I don’t like seeing him sad, but I like that we’re getting this part of his character, if you know what I’m saying. And again, I kind of appreciate her decision there. As she says here, I do feel like the longer it does go on, the worse this might get. But um I personally I don’t think I’d be able to kind of put an end to this. Like I really like these two and yes, it might be the right thing to do to kind of end Shiky right here. Uh but it also does feel incredibly kind of mean and distasteful. So um yeah, totally agree with her decision there, even though it might be the wrong decision. Um seeing him like this is uh is quite horrible, isn’t it? And he does feel really human when you do see him like this, doesn’t he? He’s crying like a human. He’s got feelings. Even the stuff he says is very kind of uh you can get behind. um as we saw early on in the episode, he’s just looking for a home. He’s just waiting for a mate. Um uh but yeah, I think again the massive stand out in this series, as I always say, every week is Hikaru and Shiki. So the more we when we get the two of them together, like we have in the second half of the episode, that’s the stuff I absolutely love. So um really like that here. But yeah, another quite a lot to digest another episode a little bit like last episode. Um, I did think we’d see a bit more of the girls reaction after she kind of witnessed Shiki and um, Hikaru’s kind of thing at the school, but I guess we might see a bit more of that next season or next episode, which I think is the last one for this. So, um, that is a uh, that is a bit of a shame, but very much looking forward to it.
