On May 14th, 1886, Okubo Toshimichi, the “Three Greatest in the Meiji Restoration,” was assassinated. Behind the incident that reeled the times was the secret activities of Shishio Makoto, who was planning to overthrow the Meiji government. Kenshin bid farewell to Kamiya Kaoru and sets out to Kyoto in order to stop Shishio, who was also the successor to “Hito-Slay Battosai.” A breakup with Kaoru and the others, a new encounter, and even a battle with Shishiyu’s faction, Kenshin sways between his own fate and his vows to kill.
