I posted my thoughts on the season on the last episode… I knew I should have waited! But I thought it would be fun to go along with your topics and post my thoughts. But I'm a picky watcher, and though I watched 5 series last season, for me that's a lot.
Biggest Let Down: – I planned on watching Lazurus, but my DVR screwed up. Sounds like I wasn't missing much. The only one I didn't like that I watched was Summer Pockets. I DID start out liking it, but it got more ecchi as time went on, and then things happened in the story that REALLY confused me, and so I just ended up dropping it.
Best OP: I started the season not really loving any OPs, but Vigilantes grew on me. In the end that's the only OP I got for my MP3 player.
Best ED: None of the ED's I saw really caught my attention, but I did like the vibe of Vigilantes and I ended up saving that one for my MP3 player, too.
Best Direction: Kowloon Generic Romance, I agree!
Best Visuals: Nothing really stands out for what I watched. Though, Kowloon had interesting/unique/nostalgic visuals.
Best Anime Studios: I don't really pay attention to studios ^^
Best Girl: Ruriko from Catch Me At The Ballpark. It was a fun show and she was a lot of fun to watch.
Best Boy: Really funny you guys say Knuckleduster, I say Koichi. It's funny. I mean I see you guys' point, but I thought Koichi was the best for letting these crazy people take over his house. XD AND wanting to be a hero and help out. Like yeah, Knuckleduster is cool for wanting to take care of his wife and daughter, but until you know those things later, he doesn't come off as a great character. But that's just me.
Best duo, another interesting one, you guys say the main couple from Kowloon, and I totally get it, I liked them, and I rooted for them… but for me, as much as I enjoyed them and rooted for them, I felt like the focus of the show was the mystery, and we only ever saw a surface level of their relationship. My duo is from Kowloon, Reiko Kujirai and Yaomay. They were best friends and were always together trying to find the answers to the mystery. That's just my opinion. :).
Most fun: I am a bit stuck because… I had a lot of fun watching the Mystery of Kowloon GR, but I think… … It also stressed me out a little at some points. Actual fun, I think, would be Catch Me At The Ballpark. It was just a fun little show, with no real stakes, and nothing really happened in it either… but that's what made it fun, and refreshing, to me. (Gah, I'm so boring! XD) Vigilantes was fun too though, like you guys said, but also stressful at times.
Most Underrated: Classic*Stars for SURE. I almost dropped it after the first episode, but it grew on me, and became interesting. It ended on a mini-cliffhanger, I hope it gets another season! But one thing I found REALLY interesting… The four main guys are named after classic composers (Note, they aren't their real names, but their instructor changes them.) Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Lizt. One day I was waiting for the new episode to drop and I was bored, and I looked up the real composers… turns out the REAL Chopin and Lizt were friends in real life and their relationship on the show mirrors their relationship in the series. I found that fascinating, that the creators really did their homework. … But yeah reading the reviews I am in the minority ^^.
Best Continuing: I was gonna say I didn't watch any continuing series, then Mike said what he said XD. I… THIS story hasn't been continued? So I'm going to stick with my original thought that Vigilanties doesn't count, because the (main) characters are new. But that's just me. :).
Best new anime: Kowloon Generic Romance, hands down. Was really unique and really fun.
Again I know I'm boring, but there's not a lot that looks good to me this season… just Dr. Stone. So so far that's all I'm watching.
Have a good week everyone!
