Another thing that’s annoying about elves, whatever is going wrong in a fantasy world it’s because the first elves fucked it up.
Also, just let evil creatures be just that, Evil. Leave that Starbucks talk of “moral dilemma” out of it.
All in all good video though one criticism I have is that the music in the first half was a little loud over you talking.
Me personally I'm a sci-fi guy and frieren did a good job winning me over as a series to the point in showing the girl this feels like a good epilogue adventure after a really good game

16:20 this point is so crucial to understanding why most pop culture sucks today: Everything caters to halfwits. Every joke, every point, is spelled out to cater to the 80 IQ crowd because god forbid you rewatch or ask about something. For instance, though maybe not a completely normal example, Hellsing Ultimate Abridged had a brilliant joke destroyed by overexplaining it. One of the characters tells a catholic that if he's unhappy, he could complain, maybe write it down, nail it to the door even, like a protestant! And the joke is ruined by everyone waiting for the "like a protestant" to react, as if any catholic would not get the snark at the "nail it to a door" part.
Frieren is a good girl and this story is a good show.

Season 2 will have a lot more about Denken (his arc is my favorite so far), and the current arc of the manga, which will probably be the latter half of season 2, has a lot of übel and clone guy.
Thank god you said the quiet part out loud man. I felt like I was taking crazy pills seeing how watered-down anime has gotten and in particular the fantasy sub-genre.
Glad I’m not the only one who tried watching shield hero only to realize it was slop of the highest order. How it is getting a 4th season is beyond me!

Even if they want coexistent and survival, they can just eat normal food humans feed them instead of eat and kill humans.

I am also not a big fan of elves and dwarves in any media but the ones in Frieren are the exceptions. They pretty much subverted the traditional characterization of their respective race. Frieren and even Serie love learning about humans and only hardcore racist towards demons. Eisen doesn't yap about underground mines or the glory of dwarves heritage while the only dwarf(manga spoilers) that did spend centuries digging a tunnel was only doing it to have a taste of some legendary lost ale. The ale turned out to be just cheap ceremonial stuff but he happily shared it with the town folks.
Which brings me to how I love how the show portrayed inter-species relationships. Other shows, especially in isekais with edge lord protagonists, showed tension between humans and non-humans. It's always humans are bad while the non-humans with enhanced abilities and city destroying powers are somehow the oppressed minorities. In Frieren there is none that. An elf could just stop by a human village and be welcomed warmly while a dwarf could stay at one for centuries to protect it or to dig a tunnel to look for a lost beverage. Most of the tensions are between opposing humans but even then there are no typical, throwaway moustache-twirling cartoonish villains that are designed solely to be hated throughout the show.
You might wanna give Record of the Lodoss War a try if you haven't already Micah. Fun fact about Lodoss War, it's an AD&D actual play made into anime, which is all kinds of badass if you ask me.

Well… Dunegon Dinning is a very different fantasy take, compared to the current Isekai and borderline isekai trash, and not in the dumb way either. And quite good. Yes the premise sounds small, but that's not always a bad thing.
The Escaflowne TV series is one of the best (the movie is mid outside the visuals).
Record of Loddos War OVAs, while i like and is a clasic, is these days a generic story with generic characters. Just generic in the western dnd style of good guys vs bad guys not the japanese harem isekai we keep getting.
The thing is…the original Berserk anime is both a very good show and rather unique so it's hard to equal let alone top. But … well it has no end.
If I could perfectly describe Frieren is that it is the anime equivalent to Puss in boots the last wish. Manly it centers around a character that hasn’t appreciated his life until he/she is started to experience the presence of death and so the MC decided to learn more to appreciate every moment of their life.
