Put your lab coat on and join us for some experimenting with spooky science in anime… which is seemingly always awful? π§ͺ Anime has always warned against the dangers of reckless futuristic advancement, with robots and mecha often taking the spotlight. With the recent trend of AI models replicating Hayao Miyazaki’s work with Studio Ghibli, this seemed like the right time to dig into the darker side of science and how anime portrays that in such a unique way. π€ See us live at ‘MechaFest: An Anime Celebration’ from 8-12 May at ACMI in Melbourne! Oh god! That Sho Tucker arc in OG FMA broke my heart and head and I don't think it will ever fade from my memory.
Another ep, another hour of work made easier! Really enjoying Orb so far & very excited to see where it goes. This ep brought up all the FMAB trauma again, but in the best way. What a show!
Keep up all the amazing work you do. This show is really keeping me engaged with this amazing art form again!
Bondrewd from Made in Abyss
I loved watching Gatchaman, as Battle of the Planets, on Force Five, back in the 80s. Recently read a few of the new comics.
As a Dune fan, I like Tleilaxu of Dune and their Ghola clones. Using them an an odd form of immortality. After you die, a Ghola clone is made. That clone eventually gets the memories from your past life. In a sense, you or rather a copy of you still lives on through the years.
Dan Simmons Hyperion has a similar thing with AI Cybrids, using human clones to live as people. When the body dyes, the AI goes into the Net and eventually gets uploaded into a new cloned human body.
