This episode was both nostalgic and in an odd sense really emotional. Senku and Xeno literally are different sides of the same coin. Xeno was someone who became a renowned scientist and had a genuine love of science. So much so that he could not only understand, but even in a way mentor Senku in his rocket research and could tell them both thought the same way. I loved how Xeno still would keep in contact with Senku and Senku continued to grow Likewise. I think what makes this sad is that Senku represents what Xeno could have been. A genuine lover of science who had pure intentions. Instead, Xeno was sadly crushed when his project Helium 3 was rejected. No doubt he started to harbor resentment towards people who could not understand his visions and didnt genuinely believe in science…the end result he steamyly becomes jaded and leans towards using science as a weapon to harm and control others who are less deserving with him (the smartest) being the dictator. I think the scene with them standing together tho and not saying a word was so powerful. Even as we see later in the episode these two are the same. They are genuine beliefs in science and its capabilities and they think the same. To get the americna perspective of the pertriification was so cool and seeing Xeno and Senku have the survival mentality but see Xeno even planned all the way to nitric acid and the corn fields is VERY impressive. Best episode of the season for me and left me moved. I hope Senku can change Xeno and win him over tho it does not feel like it.
