The Apothecary’s Monologue ►Maomao captivates everyone with her beautiful appearance. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Maomao, the daughter of the pharmacist, was separated from a peaceful life and sold to the lowest level of the court. Now a mere maid, Maomao settles into a new, mundane life and hides his wealth of medical knowledge in order to avoid unwanted attention. Shortly after Maomao arrives, the Emperor’s young children begin to experience mysterious and serious symptoms, as if they had been cursed. Curious, Maomao tries to unravel the mystery easily and anonymously to not attract attention. Unfortunately, Jinsi, the brave and insightful eunuch, spots it and manages to target Maomao. In recognition of her talent, Maomao is promoted to the Emperor’s favorite concubine, the Maid of the Jouha.
