Natsume is such a good kid he truly is best boy. He and the Fujiwaras really deserve the love and kindness they give each other.
Looks like we’re getting some Reiko lore next week! Can’t wait!
Honestly really enjoying the pacing so far. I feel like they’re setting up all the right plot points
I really like the serene vibe of this show
Ohh didn’t know that the show is popular enough for this
Natsume watching Touko smile, while recalling the box guardians saying *We’d like to look upon Shibahime’s happy face forever.* Nice touch.
Kino.
There’s just something so warm and soothing watching this show. Natsume continues to be best boy. Love his kindness when working with the youkai despite the problems they sometimes cause him.
Good to see his hard work on the box garden pay off with the arrival of Shidehime! Truly, Natsume could be the most OP person with all of his connections to youkai and gods, but our boy is a good dude who would never abuse his powers.
Looking forward to seeing Natori again next week!
I just now realize how much i actually missed this show. It’s like a warm blanket on a rainy day.
Lol, our poor boy was nabbed for another task.
Another sweet episode. The god was gorgeous.
I’m gonna look forward to my weekly comfy Natsume Mondays. I don’t want them to end lol
Just another relaxing episode.
Poor Natsume was dealing with some sleep deprivation there. Thankfully he managed to get everything done without trouble. I’d half expect him to screw up the repairs or the flower bed due to being way too tired to focus properly.
Nice of the goddess to invite Natsume into the house to celebrate with the youkai. He certainly deserved it! Seemed like a perfectly nice deity.
I may not have much to say when it comes to this show. But it feels good to watch. Just little things like being so proactive in doing things for the Fujiwaras.
This episode was so comfy… I never know what to expect of this show, but whatever they do they always deliver.

S7 and still fully loving this series!
This is probably the first episode I’ve seen Natsume being this mad with youkai.

Love watching this anime with my family. it is so comfy. watched all 6 seasons.
When they showed/explained the Box Mansion I was thinking “It reminds me of the Fujiwara house. Old… but well cared for, full of memories that are mostly happy, and a precious home for a beautiful Goddess.”
I’ve done (well, helped with) limited repairs on some pretty old models my da used to own, and I can say from experience that just touching stuff that fragile is nerve-wracking and doing a full clean by hand would be low on my list of “Things I want to do today.” Good idea to dust using a duck feather though, as they are water-repellent so there’s near zero chance of accidentally introducing unwanted moisture to the structure.
I half-expected Natsume to build a tiny flowerbed in it using fragments of the stones, but scattering the seeds from Touko worked just as well. I was also touched by Natsume pondering on how Shibahime would be looking out at a dead garden, and said to myself that maybe the trees would bloom when she returned. I was inordinately happy when the entire garden burst into life, and welled up from a joyous warmth in my soul. (As is often the case for this show.) 🙂
This series remains one of the most underwatched shows ever, whose storytelling stands up there with the best. It always brings with it a sense of heart and soul, uses characters so well, and is one of a handful of shows where flashbacks are expertly woven into the narrative for increased story and emotional beats. It was actually my yardstick/comparison for how much I appreciated the storytelling in Frieren, which was equally adept at heightening a moment in the present with a memory of the past.
A wonderful epsiode. Loved Natsume’s frustration with the yokai about being backseat craftsman lol. Looking forward to seeing Natori again next epiosde!
