Considering the nature of how goku usually starts slow and builds up to his stronger forms, I could absolutely see saitama outpacing him in the end, just as he did with garou, and the both of them would love absolutely every minute of it.

Also Goku does farming in Super as part time work he’d offer organic groceries to Saitama afterwards as a token of friendship.
Goku goes easy at first to test, after learning saitama is very strong. Saitama realises goku isnt a backstreet threat and starts getting his hopes up for once in a while, without other emotions like the garou fight, with only passion. Goku then steadily increases his output as saitama also adapts mid fight, as goku enjoys his usual fighting, however for saitama, the best moment of his life. in the end, it doesnt matter who won. As saitama and goku walk off into the sunset (Theyre going to have ramen together) they become best friends and proceed to introduce eachother to their friends, the end
