yes this is a very good point. the whole point of feeling the loss and the sadness in the series is knowing the characters you’ve come to know and love will never come back.
if you just bring back a character that died almost immediately afterwards then what value does that have?
it’s just a glorified fake out.
also it’s not just anime that does this so many other shows do this (for example) like, frozen, iron giant and even paddington 2. Dragon Ball is probably one of the biggest abusers of this trope though. a good one that’s willing to kill characters would be JoJo’s bizarre adventure.
