Angry & determined anime music video for Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita “Reincarnated As a Sword” (a very cool & under-recognized anime/story that deserves a lot more praise) – featuring fast industrial-metal music: “Burning Inside”. (I tried to match up the lyrics a little bit with what’s happening sometimes) Hopefully this music video gets more people pumped to watch this show (or read the books). [Can’t wait for season 2!] (^__^) Anime by: C2C Studio (director: Shinji Ishihira [assist: Shimizu Kazunobu]) Sugoi Music: Yasuharu Takanashi (amv music: Ministry) Original manga writing: Yuu Tanaka & Illustrator: Llo (anime illustration: Hinako Inoue) Adventures of Furan(Fran) & Shisou(“Teacher” with mastery) – a cute but fierce anime – manga is really super good too. Shishou seems like a father-figure for Furan and provides encouragement and support. Garusu(Gallus) seems almost like a grandfather-figure and Amanda becomes like a mother-figure with a strange attachment to Fran (there’s a reason – no spoilers). Rough story basis: Fran had a tragic past, she lost her parents and her freedom and was an abused slave. Her people (Black-Cat Tribe) were humiliated, enslaved and hunted(and tortured) for sport since they’re considered to be the weakest of Beastkin, lacking evolution ability. Dreams/goals: Fran is committed to her former parent’s dream – to become the first evolving Black-Cat (and making the ultimate Curry) – and to become an adventurer and explore the world. Shisou (the Sentient Sword who can communicate with telepathy and use telekenisis), shares his skills with her as they both level-up together [enhancing and building new skills]fighting off hordes of man-eating monsters(and a greater demon) that threaten the lives of her new friends. Shishou’s main goal is to protect her and share in her adventures – almost like a Dad teaching and having fun with his daughter while watching out for her. Fran has a determined, unfazed, fierce, & protective side to her too which really shows in her choices and actions. Analysis: The story maybe initially appears to be just cute, fun, fierce, adventures but there’s a lot more here. Many impoverished people feel powerless and wish for any opportunity to get out of their situation. This story shows how much suffering a powerless person would put themselves through if they had any possible opportunity to become more powerful and change their situation from shameful suffering to a situation where they can thrive & protect others who they care about. Fran puts herself through hell to try to climb that ladder to reach for her dreams which previously seemed impossible and Shishou is the sensei who empathizes and wishes to hold her hand through that experience . There’s a lot of fun, new-friends, and discovery to be had along the way too.
