Sonic truly believed until recently that the ninth was very similar to the real Tails, just different characters and very early destinies. Sonic really wanted to believe that the Ninth was indeed the same Tails, although Shadow told him that it was not Tails but the Ninth, and they could not be special friends to him, since they had very different destinies, and it was not known what was on their minds. Sorry Sonic…..
