The tracks are extremely simple, which is intentional since they must sit in the background from the actual scene. Yet when those harmonies and melodic lines get tied to the relationships the audience is so deeply invested in, it hits different just listening to the track on its own. The intention of this arrangement is to create a relaxing, nostalgic atmosphere. The OP songs are normally fast and upbeat, which suits the wholesome tone of the show. But when slowed down and played in a more sentimental matter, it almost serves like a tribute to the show, as we (the audience) reminisce over the good times we had with these characters. The ED (11:40) hits especially hard when played in this manner. You can actually hear these slower versions of the OP and ED in Vol. 3 of the Horimiya OST album, which is what this arrangement is based off of. Somehow, this ended up being my longest video. It was written and recorded over several days as I got new ideas but I stitched it together to create one complete piano album.
