      About why the federacy came to the rescue maybe someone on from the federacy was on a mission and they saw all if the smoke if u look back there is a lot of smoke and heard the shots and everything then they came to check it out that's what I'm thinking

      What Lena is preparing is not rebelion but resistance. Remember that Shin told her about the "in 2 years" attack that's coming.
      In this season, due to time "skip", the dates are VITAL!!!

      What Shin saw was a livid dream. As we already saw with Kaie, sometimes several Lowes (legion machines) share the same "mind/programming". In this case, one of them that keep Rei's "personality" is the one who saved them at took them closer to Giad. I think Shin felt him with his hability thus the dream of Rei carrying him (he someway did that)
      That´s the reason the people of Giad are so suspicious at the beginning. A group of unknown kids "captured/guarded" by a Legion? No wonder they asked themselvs if they are a new biological weapon or what.

      As why the Giad people know nothing about them? The blue butterflies fault. They are a jamming system that makes radio communication impossible. The Para-Raid was created to overcome them (is closer to telekinessis than radio comm)
      The Republic of Magnolia isolated itself behind the walls when the war started and think that the rest of the world fell under the Legion (sounds familiar? AOT) .
      On the other hand, you have the survivors of the Giad Empire, who fought the Legion, got back some of its territory and now created the Federacy. It was just a few years ago so is not like they had the time and resources to check outside their fronteirs (now they know that there are survivors outside)
      They walked from Magnolia to Giad. Think of it as walking from France to Germany, and between them a lot of enemies.

      shin brother is leading them to giad federacy that's why they only fight small number of legion and shin brother captured/carry them where the giad military is.

      As far as the other nations go. San Magnolia had closed itself off when the war with the Legion started. The Giad Federacy is larger and aware of a few other nations we have not seen yet. You will have to read the books to find out more.

      Everyone’s talking about how they never explained how they survived when in reality the LNs don’t even explain it till a further volume that they haven’t animated yet is trying to justify spoilers

      In the light novel they explain that Shin's brother didn't die in the fight between the two and kept following them with his sanity back. and then he saved them when they were about to die and then the federation found them. That is why in the scene where Ernest talks to the generals and they give their reports, a legion unit appears in the federation laboratories together with the shin unit.

      I did not try to belittle anybody, but from most reaction I watch they keep confusing is Shin dead? It was obvious from the dream sequence but most people probably just can't process at that time. I did not read the LN and I also assume he was dead but after his brother said this how far I can go with you, I know he was alive. What I'm suprise is how all of them was alive. Still, I'm glad all of them survive.
