  1. This is the type of movie I grew up with. These actors were so good and I always search for movies that they starred in. They just had acting styles that very few modern actors just don't possess. This movie is particularly memorable. The storyline just draws you in.

  2. The actor in this movie who played Chollo (Jorge Martinez de Hoyos) also played Po Campo in the great Western miniseries Lonesome Dove. Good actor. Died in 1997 of lung cancer at the age of 76.

  3. I liked how the bandits felt something to make them go back to him, and that Joe took his time to think and make up his mind. Not hard to get that the Harry-Belafonte-man was wanted on the breeding-farmWhat a shame he did not meet Elizabeth. She certainly deserved a good husband with all the good that she did for others. A true nurse, healing with her groundedness and soul as well. I am sorry for the death of all those indians, and their families. Were they all hired by that white man who got shot? And I suppose he was a companion of Tarp?
I wonder what Tarp thought upon being spared, he must have been puzzled. Why did he attack Mr Benjamin's home, was it to steal his horses? Couldn't he have done that without killing his family, like Mr Benjamin only bpund the guards with loose knots? The Indians surely were courageous.
Who was the stumbling shirtless man in the pit on the rescue; the guard who was hit was dressed?
There should have been some strong dialogue betwee the two of them, in order to address Tarp's better self and conscience, and make him not want to do Mr Benjamin further harm in the future. Since it is not sure at all that his better self got awakened from having his life spared. We humans need to hear soem good words now and then; food for our spirit.
Did they all come home with him? That would be a blessing, for thjém to settole done being useful in good work, for him to not be alone with his sad memories and getting help and support. There might be a part 2 where he met Elizabeth again and married her. She must have been lonely, with only patients to tend to and no colleagues. Hard to be an InCel, even for a woman.
A bit too much killing, but very good to see how fate may suddenly turn, despite things looking dark. It is a matter of not having given up, but being in good shape, body, soul and spirit. Thanks for the reminder to THINK and make the most of a dire, seemingly hopeless situation.. 😀
