Riot Games has been cooking. Over the last year we’ve gotten teasers for their upcoming 2D fighter “Project L”, but just last week we got the biggest content drop yet. New gameplay details, and a ton of fighting game content creators got significant time with the game to share their thoughts. Not only is this game shaping up to be damn good but it could potentially change the landscape of competitive fighting games… forever. 1. I think its being optimistic to think that riot wont just go off and make their own shit. Yes the developers are founders of evo, but riot is such a huge game and fgc being grassroots will not reach the same auidience pull riot has.

Fgc will do their thing and riot will do theirs. Im sure there will be a little cross over

  2. There's going to be some sort of esport drama where a team of 2 has some sort of drama or betrayal and they split and then someone is going to swear off 'ever having a partner ever again' so he/she sticks to 1v1 until The One comes along and breaks them out of their solitude and later on someone's going to make a movie about it

  3. No real fighting game player would consider riots mobile fighting game as a nr. choice.
As long as We got MK1 , new street fighter and tekken, Project L is an obvious downgrade.
Project L looks a lot like a Project that already took an "L".
LOL FANS OUT THERE, for the love of GOD, You know what is coming exactly…
2VS2 Fighting game, but now Yuumi gets to sit whole match on a single champ 😀

  4. They didn't "play 2v2 mode". As far as we know there is no 2v2 mode. You can just pick 1 or 2 players no matter what it seems.
1v1, 2v2, and 1v2 are all possible, so It seems likely at tournaments you will just be able to choose since there is no major advantage for either.

  5. As someone only really interested in the LCS I 100% agree about fighting games being the entry point to eSports. I have ZERO real knowledge about fighting games beyond some characters I think are neat and I will occasionally drift over and watch a hyped match between two people I've never heard of and get psyched by what I'm seeing, lol.

  6. It's likely not going to change everything. It's likely it will be a niche community since the big draw is the League of Legends player base itself, not dissimilar to Skullgirls or Guilty Gear.

  7. I wish riot would innovate something for once instead of just stealing every existing game.
If they came up with a completely new game, im sure itd be great.
They are creative and experienced enough to make their own game, but theyre only recreating existing games.
At least fighting games need it.

  8. 3:51 I wouldn’t trust a word leffen says. the amount of times he lies and spreads misinformation for seemingly no reason is ridiculous. so I wouldn’t take what he says

  9. Im excited about project L, but I hope that it wont make other fighting franchises dumb down mechanically while trying to capitalize on project L's popularity

  10. Riot: king with lol, goes after cs with valorant, now this is the shot towards the fighting esports scene. They are changing the esports scenes period. I know some cs fans still enjoy it and cs 2 will explode extremely hard, but I play both and valorant is pretty good, maybe it's the hole net code server thing but when I play valorant it feels extremely crisp shooting. Never have I fired a shot and been like " where TF has my bullet gone? The matrix?. Nah I shoot in valorant and if I miss by a millimeter it is what it is, never questioned it. This fighting game could be extremely good I've never played these games though.

  11. Project L looks really good, yet I'm sad to see it overshadow "Cerebrawl", (a fighting game centered around 2 players vs 2 players that has been in development for 7 years) as if no other game were doing this feature
    .

  12. Legends of Runeterra currently has less than 300 viewers on twitch, and traditional fighters are WAY more niche than card games. Just because the game is Riot doesn't mean it will be a huge hitting staying power like Valorant and League- comparing them is delusional. If and when project L drops 90% of its player base after the first month of launch, the bleak reality of the FGC's inability to grow a top title will hit.

  13. I'm sad you just completely disregarded Brawlhalla when talking about communication and 2v2 in fighting games…

  14. 1yrs after release THE SCORE: "why street figther will kill Project L.. forever." xD this dude saw cs2 getting in the corner and condemned Valorant on the spot, and he said valorant was "the game changer" xD so.. content creators are kinda like that tho.

  15. Hey man, I just want to let you know that I noticed you are blinking unequally. Your left eye is blinking (winking) while the right eye is steady. Please consult a doctor. It is a pre sign of stroke.

Don't hate me for this. I'm just concern.

  16. I'm so excited for Project L. I'm Interested to see how it effects the scene. I really do hope they do stick to a more grass roots approach, if they do that I think it likely has a lot of staying power.
