Born in Mie prefecture. He started playing the piano at the age of 3, the violin at the age of 5, and discovered jazz shortly after entering Hosei University. In 2005, he studied under John Blake in the United States, learned practical jazz violin practice methods, and won three awards including the “Best Player Award” at the Yokohama Jazz Promenade Competition. In 2010 he performed with world-famous jazz violinist Christian Howes and was hailed as “one of the most important jazz violinists in Japan”. He also toured with his own unit in gypsy jazz, and is highly evaluated as “a talent who has mastered the timing unique to jazz, which is rare as a violinist” (Tim Cliphouse). Since 2015, he has been performing solo performances using the electric violin, and by making use of his improvisational nature, he is engaged in a wide range of activities, including live performances on theatrical stages and collaborations with belly dance. He presides over the online jazz lesson comprehensive program “JAZZ VIOLIN DIRECTION JAPAN” for string players.
