Great show but yeah the anime cut out a chunk of character stuff throughout
Although the anime adaptation is really good. It’s such a shame they left out so much stuff from the manga.
This is one of my very few 10/10 mangas so I really do recommend reading it!
The show, from start to finish, was well-written, emotionally resonant, and truly phenomenal, with great direction, animation, voice acting, and music. I'll definitely get around to reading the manga to get the full story.

To those wondering, the anime leaves off at chapter 35 of the manga.
I don't think the material they cut would have made much of an impact on the anime.
Makio definitely is Asa's parent, and a great one at that, even if she doesn't fully embrace the title.
