This episode was a bit confusing for people outside the franchise. The Grail from Fate/stay (from Fuyuki City) was corrupted, as shown in Fate/Zero. Francesca took some of the corrupted mud and gave it to the Master of Heracles, who used that same mud to corrupt his Servant.
Francesca can switch bodies and live for a long time. She used herself as a catalyst and brought her past self back as a Servant, summoning herself

You see, Hera absolutely hated him from the moment he was born, simply because he was one of the illegitimate sons of Zeus, so just his existance reminded her of how unfaithful Zeus was to her.
For this reason, Hera was basically the mastermind behind most of Herakles trials and tribulations.

Regarding Franchesca Prelati he keeps jumping body from body that's why he's still alive.
So he basically kept himself alive in the body of a young girl so he can have the opportunity to summon HIMSELF as a Servant. 😂
Mya from Fate/Zero was a child soldier who was taken advantage of to put it lightly by her superiors and she ended up conceiving the child on this episode
The Fate animes are really difficult to adapt due to how massive the scale is and of course how colourful it is
So it tends to leave out backstories or stuff like that
Hanza Cervantes is also related to Kirei for example
They grew up together I think
Fun fact, Prelati is the person who made the book bound in human skin that Caster was using in Fate/Zero 😀

There are also grand classes servants summoned by the world itself when there's powerful enemy who the world deem too dangerous for humanity. The grand class only have one servant per class representing the main seven classes. However, the grand title will be passed to other suitable candidate when the previous one voluntary relinquish their title, cease to exist, or when the threat they were summoned to counter is gone.

To help explain how Francesca was about to summon themselves as a servant: Heroic Spirits don't quite work in the same way as we imagine "spirits". It would be more accurate to think of them as the physical manifestation of legends . This is why it's possible to even summon completely fictional people as Heroic Spirits as long as there is a big enough legend about them.
So for Francesca, since there is a legend about her previous life as François Prelati, that version of themselves exists as a Heroic Spirit that can be summoned even though they are still alive.

alcides was only named Heracles by his mother in order to try to prevent Hera from killing him. Alcides is his birth name
Also just to let ya know the girl mage did say u should call him an avenger he's not a berserker
Somewhere I read that to be able to summon a servant, there has to be record of the legend of a person, god, demi-god or entity. Francesca was alive and summoned herself as the legend. Like Jack the ripper (Flat Escardos servant), he doesn’t know who he is, but he was summoned from legends about him.
