In this season, the main character, Naofumi, will once again be questioned about the bonds he has built with his friends, the miracle of their encounters, and his “determination to protect.” This feeling applies to all of my friends, but I wrote the lyrics with Raphtalia, Atlas, and Fowl in mind in particular. Raphtalia is trying to move forward despite having a painful past and fate, and Atlas is also said to be sickly and short-lived, but she finds her reason for living by meeting Naofumi. Even if their pasts and births were connected to something that would destroy their present, this encounter remains unwavering. I think that’s what Naofumi wants to convey to his friends. The phrase “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime encounter” embodies the strong feeling that even if it only happens once, it is so important that it will last forever, and that is why we want to protect it. The song is different from the pure ballads of previous works, and is an up-tempo song with a sense of speed that gives a strong sense of hope for the future. We asked Yusuke Takeda (Elements Garden) to compose and arrange the song.
