The 2nd Annual Al Lucard Halloween Special 🎃🧛
I bid you welcome to the second annual Al Lucard
Halloween special. As you may have guessed, I am Al Lucard and tonight we have 13 amazing folks
talking their favorite horror sequels. Stay tuned. So, a few months ago, I decided
to do another Halloween special, and I pondered on what to cover. So, naturally,
my mind went to sequels. And many of our guests tonight have appeared in that first Halloween
special last year. So, I am eternally grateful that they returned. We do have a few new faces as
well. So, let’s jump into the sequel …waters. Up first, we have, in my opinion, a criminally
underrated actor. He has appeared in b-movies and cult classics for years, including Troma’s
Fortress of America, Full Moon’s Shrunken Heads, and the incredibly fun Monster High. You also may
know him as Ox from a little known television show called Saved by the Bell. Fresh off of his role in
Joker: Folie a Deux, I present to you Troy Froman. Welcome to the Bat’s Halloween special. Hi, my name is Troy Froman and Al asked
us to tell us about our favorite horror Halloween sequels. Well, here’s my list. The
first one that comes to mind would be The Omen Part 2. That was way before its time.
The elevator scene, the ice, and the hockey, and the everything about it I just loved
as a kid. Then the next one I really liked, he said to get three, would be the original
Halloween 2, not Rob Zombie’s crap. Poo poo, Rob Zombie. Yeah, I hate your crap. Well, the
Halloween crap that is. Halloween 2 takes place right after Halloween one. And I just dug
it as a kid. Now another one. Halloween? And the third horror sequel coming to mind.
Hmm. That’s part two. Hm. There’s so many to choose from. Well, I’m just going to
say Final Destination Part Two. Blew me away. Honorable mentions go to Stalker Part
Two, which I’m in, Phantasm 2, which I’m in, and Return of the Living Dead Part Two,
which I’m in. Hahaha. Happy Halloween. Thank you, Troy. I did enjoy those Stalker movies,
by the way, and you can check those out on Tubi. I just noticed we have a very international
lineup this year. So, let’s take our first trip, shall we? Let’s go down under and visit with the
Ginga Ninja. Good day. It’s the Ginga Ninja here. and The Bat himself has asked us to provide our
top three favorite horror movie sequels. So, I’ve dove into my collection and found my top three
plus one honorable mention which I’ll get to at the end. So, let’s get straight into it. And you
can’t have a sequel without Bride of Reanimator. I love this film. And I’ve got this one here,
which is my It’s a German edition actually, but it was cheap, so I picked it up. And my Arrow
edition. I love this movie. This movie is fun. It is gruesome. It is funny. It is just everything
you could want in a sequel. This has got it. The next one is an interesting story for me because I
didn’t see this one for a very long time. I’d seen the original. I’d seen the third film, but I had
not seen the second one in this series, and it is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part Two. This movie
was banned in Australia for a very long time, but obviously it finally got a release and I am
so glad it did because I freaking love this film. You can see this one here. Bill Moseley signed
it. Fantastic. I’ve also got the Arrow edition as well. I love this. This is a heap of fun.
Dennis Hopper is off his rocker in this. This is just such a great fun horror movie and a fantastic
sequel as well. Now, when you’re talking sequels, you can’t go past the greatest zombie sequel of
all time, and that would be George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. I am a huge fan of this
one. I grew up on Night of the Living Dead, Return of the Living Dead, all the Dead films.
To get this, this was not where I grew up. You couldn’t get this on VHS. I had to hunt it down.
And I finally did. And I got it on VHS. This was my original viewing of Dawn of the Dead on VHS.
And I still have it. I can’t say enough about this movie. It’s the social satire, the the gruesome
effects. Short the zombies look blue and all that, but who cares? They are awesome. This movie is
awesome. Also got it on Blu-ray and I do have it on DVD somewhere, but I didn’t go diving that
deeply into the uh realms of my collection. Now, I did have an honorable mention. This is a
sequel that I feel is superior in most ways to the original and that is Wrong Turn 2. I love
this one. This is just a completely off-the-wall batshit crazy horror sequel. Plus, it’s got Henry
Rollins, so you know, gets points for that. It’s fun. It’s gruesome. It’s got naked women. It’s got
everything you could ever want in a horror movie sequel, but no one talks about it. It’s Is it
better than the original? It’s pretty damn close. But yeah, I like it. I like it a lot. Anyway,
they are my picks. Thank you very much for, you know, inviting us onto the channel for this.

Wait, I shouldn’t be saying that on a Halloween special. I mean, he’s a terrible tyrant. For our
third guest, we hop over to the UK for a guy I’m sure none of you have ever heard of, especially
if you watch this channel. Pugwall 3:16. Take it away, Pugsy. Yo, what’s up? I think I’ve got
the assignment right, Al. Let’s go. Third time’s the charm. Horror’s best part threes. That’s
what you asked for. People say horror sequels get worse as they go, but some part threes are
absolutely killer, man. Take Halloween 3 Season of the Witch. No Michael Myers in sight. And in
1982, that was blasphemy. Well, did you know John Carpenter planned the Halloween films as a yearly
anthology series? Season of the Witch gave us a killer Halloween mask, Stonehenge Dust, and a
jingle so catchy it’ll rock your brain before the mask do. Then there’s Nightmare and Elm Street
3 Dream Warriors. Freddy’s back, but this time the kids fight back, too. And here’s the twist. One of
the writers was Frank Darabont who later made the Shawshank Redemption, everyone’s favorite film.
Now add in Dokken’s hair metal theme song and some of the most inventive kills in horror and you’ve
got a fan favorite that still holds up, dude. And we can’t forget Teenage Wasteland: Sleepaway Camp
Part Three filmed back to back with part two. It was cheap. It has Angela kicking campers, killing
them with lawnmowers, tent poles, garbage trucks, all while grinning like she’s on a summer holiday.
Fun fact, played by Pamela Springsteen is the boss’ kid sister. These third entries didn’t just
survive, they thrive. Whether they broke the rules or perfected the formula, man, like Elm Street
3, they proved that in horror sometimes three is the magic number. Just like my homies De La
Soul. Isn’t that right? Word to your mother. Oh, Dr. Pugs dropping them beats
with those threequels. I’ll have to say Nightmare 3 is a favorite of mine as well, although not my favorite Nightmare film. I’ll
reveal my top three at the end of the video. Up next, we travel to New York for the always
thorough JT’s Horror Discussions. Now, JT told me his video would be about three hours long,
and if you know him, I wouldn’t doubt it. Take it away, JT. This one’s not really a true sequel
either in my eyes. Evil Dead 2 from 87. Again, some think this is a sequel and view it that
way. That’s fine. I never subscribed to it being a sequel to Evil Dead. I think Evil Dead
2 is a remake. The original Evil Dead is another film that’s in my top 40 films of all time. And
what I think happened was he saw the success of that movie. It was such an independent production,
such a low budget. They didn’t even have running water and toilets and showers and [ __ ] when
they were filming at that cabin. And then after he saw that movie take off and start becoming
a cult classic, he wanted to go back with a bigger budget and more comedy and wanted to
do the film that he originally wanted to do that he couldn’t do because he didn’t have the
budget at the time for the first movie. Yeah, you can argue the remake theory versus it
being a sequel, but I would just respond by saying the continuity in this entire franchise is
absolute dog [ __ ] So, it really doesn’t matter getting into it. For me, it’s that situation.
Raimi wanted to make a bigger, more ridiculous version of his first film, and that’s what
he did with Evil Dead 2. And Bruce Campbell, of course, steals the show. It’s all about
him. All of his slapstick humor, his comedy, and also the behind the scenes relationship with
Raimi and Bruce Campbell. They would always [ __ ] with each other. And Sam Raimi would have Bruce
do a bunch of takes for stuff he’d never use in the movie or things that he would have him hitting
himself with stuff and plates breaking on his head over and over again, but he’d only use two, three
seconds of that, but would have him continue doing it. Just knowing that and all those little stories
and their real life friendship shining through the movies adds so much to it. So, Evil Dead 2
from 87, another sequel, Exorcist 3 from 1990, after The Heretic: Exorcist 2, which I don’t know.
There are maybe a few, maybe a handful of decent to good ideas scattered throughout that movie.
That’s hard to say. Besides that, it’s a total mess. And we have George C. Scott, who I love
in everything. His banter and dialogue in this movie is great. And besides Scott, you have Father
Karras returning and Brad Dourif who is phenomenal in this film. So much so that what 35 years now
it’s been. His whole performance has become so iconic from this. There are a lot of bands, metal
bands especially, that use Dourif’s monologues in this film as samples in their music. Like at the
beginning of tracks, Children of Bodom is one of them. I forget the song, but it starts with the
and cut and mutilate the innocent. There’s a lot of bands that use samples from this movie. It has
one of the best jump scares in horror history. the whole scene with the one long static shot of
the hallway and it’s shot from down here looking down the hallway and the nurse is making her
round and it makes you feel very tense and at the same time you have security guards or cops,
whatever they are, coming into the room hanging out for a minute or two. You feel a little bit of
a reprieve. Then they walk out again and it’s just the nurse again. and you know something’s going
to happen. You know something’s happening, but you don’t know what. And then another security guard
will come in for another minute, 30 seconds or so. All from the static shot way back. And then she
goes into the room and checks it, shuts the door, locks it, and as soon as she walks away, you get
that amazing jump scare. The door opens and the nun with the head trimmers. one of the best jump
scares ever. The old woman who’s possessed and she’s like crawling on the ceiling. There’s a lot
of crazy but yet good ideas in this movie, unlike the complete hodgepodge mess of ideas that we got
in The Exorcist 2, but Exorcist 3: Legion as it’s also known. One of the better sequels to another
iconic movie. How do you follow up The Exorcist? Well, first of all, you don’t because The Heretic
sucked. But you can rebound with the third film, which is what they did here. And it was all
downhill from there for The Exorcist. Are you guys ready for the lightning round? I’m just going
to rapid fire spit out a bunch of sequels that in my opinion are the best or more importantly or
more specifically my favorite in their respective franchises. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Slumber
Party Massacre 2, Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers, Rob Zombie’s H2, and don’t even start
giving me [ __ ]. Maniac Cop 2, Psycho Cop 2, I always forget the tagline is back. It’s not
that. A lot of slashers with sequels being my favorite. Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, A
Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Freddy’s Revenge is my favorite in the franchise. Friday the 13th
Part 4 is my favorite slasher film ever made. So that’s obviously my favorite in the Friday
franchise, but you could also throw in part two and part three. I’d put those above the original.
Also, Wishmaster 2, Child’s Play 2 is my favorite in that series. Victor Crowley, the fourth Hatchet
movie, that’s my favorite in that franchise. Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2, Basket Case 2, Poltergeist
3 is my favorite of that trilogy. Sorority House Massacre 2 and Hard to Die: Sorority House
Massacre 3. I like both of those more than the original. And it goes on and on. I like a lot
of sequels in franchises better than the original. Hmm, six and a half minutes – might be a
new record. Bro, you okay? Just kidding. I like how you tacked on the movies at
the end there. That’s pretty sly. But let’s stay in the New York area and
visit with the number one YouTuber, Anthony Chobot. Hey everybody, it’s
your favorite YouTuber, Anthony Chobot Midnight Hour movie. It’s time for my response to
the Al Lucard Halloween special. Now he’s coming out with a Halloween special that he asks up top
top three Halloween sequels. Now horror sequels. Now it’s that time of year to get creative and
everything. And oh boy oh boy, what a doozy this thing is. Talking about the Halloween special.
Now the Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and everything besides my birthday and Christmas.
And here we go. Coming in. So Halloween. Halloween is good. Coming in at number three, one of my
favorite all-time horror sequels is Hellraiser 2. Now, Hellraiser 2 is a good good movie. Here’s
my story about Hellraiser 2. I bought Hellraiser 2 for Christmas in 2020 2011 when I was living in
Glendale, New York. It’s not as good as the second Hellraiser sequel. It kind of like has a feel to
a gory kind of thing to it. Cory got a vibes to it. And I enjoyed Hellraiser 2. Hellraiser 2 is
one of my favorite horror sequels and everything. Hellraiser 2 is one of the gory hollow sequels
and everything. I like Hellraiser 2. That’s number three. Coming in at number two, one of my favorite
all sequels is Troma’s Return to Nuke Em High Volume 2. Now that the sequel has so much hype in
it, 2015, here’s the story. I was participating in the Return from Nuke Em High sequel with Catherine
Corcoran and Asta Paredes. That’s one of the last times I saw Asta Paredes in that in [Music] all
time and I don’t want to get reason into that but they were campaigning to get the sequel out.
They were supposed to put out Kevin the Wonder Duck and everything and it had hype. It had hype
and everything and we don’t know when the sequel will be out. I was waiting for it. Waiting for it.
And then at Troma Dance uh Troma Dance I was in in watching the sequel. Then a couple years later
then they have the premiere. I was a total wreck when that happened. I was a total wreck. I was
a total mess when Return to Nuke Em High volume 2 came out. I was so emotionally drained and
everything. My mental health was not doing that good. I made a scene and I apologize for after,
but that’s in another video. Return to Nuke Em High Volume 2 is an awesome movie. It’s an awesome
sequel. It’s a horror sequel and everything. And coming in, what’s my favorite number one? My
favorite number one has got to be has got to be uh it’s got to be the sequel. The number one
horror sequel is Saw two now. Saw two. No, not Saw 2. Uh the Texas Chainsaw Massacre
2. Here’s my story with that. I was watching Joe Bob Briggs one time and then they had scary
things in it and I saw the VHS for it and it was scary. It was scary as hell and everything and
I watched it on AMC. Joe Bob Briggs was in that movie – Horror Critic and he did it on TNT. I
was watching TNT at the time now. It was scary and everything and it was scary. It was scary. And
that’s that’s my top three horror horror movies. And I’ll leave Al Lucard’s YouTube channel link

the camera is – over here somewhere. So yes, uh just one word Terry is the reason why. Can’t
think of anything else that happens in the film but apart from Terry in a short shorts. Then
we have Evil Dead 2 which is obviously explains itself. Excellent film – remake of the first and
then into something new. And finally, Jaws 2, the slasher film of the franchise. Scared the bejesus
out of me as a child, more than the first one. But there you go. That’ll do for you. So,

special without a cat. So, our next guest is my co-host of the Midnight Society, Patrick from Have
Cheetah Will View. Greetings. It’s the Cat. That’s right. Welcome to the Midnight Society. I’m the
Cat. And we’re here to support our brother in arms or brother in wings, so to speak, the Bat,
aka Al Lucard. We’re supposed to talk about three of our favorite horror sequels. Well, I’d like
to sit here and tell you that I had everything all organized for this. Everything’s all pretty
for this. I got some some cool unique stuff for you guys to watch because you know me, I’m not
commercial. I’m pretty much indie. So I should have a ton of indie here for you for best
horror sequels. But I’d be lying. I’d be, well actually I’d be a cheetah, but I’d be lying
if I said that. So we’re here to talk about three, let’s see three horror sequels that we like and
enjoy so much. Um yeah, let’s get to it. I’m sure some of you guys will be very impressed with
my picks. You sit there and say, “Uh Patrick, how? Dude where can I get some of these movies
that you pull out of your hat?” Um, probably anywhere you can buy a movie. Uh, all right. Uh,
let’s just crack it off. I got three to do and I got less than 10 minutes to do this. So, let’s
crack it. Uh, my number one would be this would my number one would be a number two. And, uh, that
is Predator 2. Bet you didn’t see that coming. Uh, so of course this is the one with Danny Glover.
Um, it’s actually has gotten rather popular uh along with the whole series. Now, this is actually
a series that has really uh and actually Alien 2 that have really started to gain they’ve gotten
stronger as they’ve gotten older. It’s the Fantasy Island theory. The Predator movies have gotten
better as they’ve gotten older. Whereas some of the horror ones like Friday the 13th, I love
Jason. and he’s my favorite slasher. But quite honestly, it’s been sort of a struggle trying
it’s going to be a struggle to see what they can come up fresh for Jason. But you know, Freddy
the Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, they’re all just the same old same old every movie. It’s just
okay. But with the Predator series and for Aliens, they have actually come up with some really
unique storylines. Predator 2, while it didn’t come out and do nearly the business as the first
movie did, it has has become a cult favorite. So Predator 2. Um wow. Speaking of tired and and like
holy [ __ ] Really? Uh let’s go with Scream 2. This should tell you why. This should tell
you that that my closet, you can tell how unorganized I truly am is when I pull these out of
my ass because this is the only ones I can find. So Scream 2. I wonder who’s going to be after,
I wonder which relative is going to be chasing down Sydney this time. Uh, so of course this
one here does not have the Stu train on it. Uh, that, you know, Stu train’s on the seventh.
So if you’re waiting for the Stu train here, you’re going have to wait for another five
movies. But at least Dewey makes it out alive. Uh, this was super scary. It kept me up
late at night. I had all my lights on. Okay. Next is the unrated director’s cut. Damn.
You know, you know that’s serious. I’ve been warned off this movie. You know, I was warned
off this movie. They’re sitting there going like, I don’t know if you can handle this because, you
know, the cheetah might be hiding underneath the blankets. You’ll probably be, you know, you’ll
probably be in the bathroom, you know, scarce, you know, quivering. Uh, but I said, you know,
I’ll take my chance on it. you know. The third movie was a sequel to a series, um, and none other
than Rob Zombie, Halloween 2. Ooh. All right. Take that, horror fans. Um, of course, uh, this one
here has, um, has Malcolm McDowell in it. Uh, Tyler Mane, who now I have to sit there and go
on a soap box just for a tiny bit, but man, Tyler Mine never got the got the credit he deserves. He
never got the He should have had him. He should have been big. He was amazing. He’s an amazing
actor. Um, one of the best things about Troy, I felt so bad for him for the first X-Men
movie. That was some bull – .he had the perfect physicality for Saber-tooth and they made
him a mute. You owe me a scream, dude. Have you not read any of the comic books before you did
that movie? Obviously not. Uh the Saber-tooth is a terrific character and they just made him, you
know, and they just they just defanged him. Um so, uh let’s see who else is here. Oh, Sherri Moon
Zombie. I told you it was a horror movie…and a whorror movie. Okay. Uh, who else is in
here? Brad Dourif. Really? All right. Uh, Danielle Harris. Uh, I think we had her in the
midnight hour, maybe. And oh, super cute Scout Taylor Compton. Yeah, she’s super cute. And I
know her and Danielle do a podcast together. All right, that’s my three sequels for the
for the Mighty Bat aka Al Lucard. Uh yeah, Midnight Society. I’m not sure
when we’re going to ride again. Uh hopefully sometime soon. But thanks
for watching and Happy Halloween. Peace. Hmm, Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 gets mentioned
again. Didn’t see that coming at all when I asked this question. So, thank you, Patrick. Up next,
we have a bonafide film making legend. You may know his work in Burglar from Hell or the Jacker
Trilogy. He’s also been perfecting the horror anthology as of late. I’m talking about the one
and only Phil Herman. When I was asked to do this questionnaire, my three favorite horror sequels,
I went I said, “Oh my God, there’s so many movies, you know, sequels, like is this one good? Is
this one better?” And I I came up with three. This was inspired by my recent trip to Grossfest
in Pittsburgh. Me and my buddies Derek, Will, and Nina went to the Monroeville Mall. And if you’re
a fan of zombie movies, you know the setting of Dawn of the Dead was in the Monroeville Mall. Dawn
of the Dead was a sequel to Night of the Living Dead where you had George Romero taking a jab at
consumer relationships, I guess. you know, like the most important even in the end of the world,
the four of them landed up in a mall surrounded by the stores and they had everything. Funny – end of
the world and they’re in a shopping center and who could forget the Tom Savini effects. I think Tom
Savini was at the top of his game with that movie. I mean it had a great story, a great idea, you
know, great actors and but you needed those special effects and it was practical effects in
those days. No CGI. He did everything from the helicopter, you know, scalping of the guy, from
the machetes, from the gunshots, from just the whole opening with the bites, you know, and the
tenement and the shotgun blast to that guy’s head. How many people when you first saw that you were
ugg. But Dawn of the Dead has always been dear to my heart when they did the remake. like uh I
like Dawn of the Dead better out of the three, you know, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of
the Dead, Day of the Dead. I prefer Dawn of the Dead the best, even though Day of the Dead has
been growing on me lately. When I first saw it, I wasn’t too thrilled about it. And the last
few years, whenever it’s on, I try to catch it. And I like it. I’m starting to really like
it. But Dawn of the Dead, just the Goblin music, the four characters, you know, in it, they
they had such great chemistry and just the feeling of the isolation they had. Like what
a great feeling. It’s the end of the world. Everything’s collapsing and you barricade
yourself in a shopping mall where you have everything. But it was also exciting how they
barricaded themselves. They brought the trucks to barricade each door. And I noticed when
we went to Monroeville Mall, very different. Everything’s different, but the entrance looked
like the original entrance. And it’s pretty creepy because a lot of the stores are going
out of business because the mall’s closing and we were talking a lot to the museum there, which
was fascinating. Check my page out and you’ll see like pictures that we took from there. I hope they
find a home when the mall closes, but I’m getting off the subject. Dawn of the Dead number one. I
loved it. Best sequel. My next one is Friday 13th Part 2. Another one. When I first saw it, I went,
“This is horrible. I didn’t like the way it ended. I didn’t like the way they handled Jason.” But as
I grew older, repeat viewings, I really liked it. I like the the potato sack mask, which had to
be inspired by The Town That Dreaded Sundown. But in this movie, it kind of brought Jason to
life and it was before the the hockey mask, which took off. But I really like the way part two took
off from being sort of a nightmare and mystery, like, is Jason alive? Is Jason alive? To like now
Jason is a grown-up with a potato sack on his head and he’s out there killing the kids. It didn’t
have the mystery and suspense as the first one, but it’s got its equal scares. Great effects – no
Tom Savini, but this one was equal, even though a lot of them, a lot of the effects, the kills were
cut out. I really had a good time with it. I like the way Jason, like I said, was grown up now. So
now this is a full-fledged slasher film, you know, with your iconic killer and Jason became Jason.
So that everybody says, “Well, Jason became Jason when he put the hockey mask on.” That, you know,
they disregard part two. But I’ve always liked part two. Same thing, characters. I loved all the
characters in it. A lot of memorable characters, fun times, and that’s my number two. The
third, not that it’s my least favorite, but Evil Dead 2. Big fan of Evil Dead. Always
loved Evil Dead. When Evil Dead 2 came out, I was reluctant. And like the other two I was like
when I first saw I was like it’s good but like Home Alone and Rocky 2 I felt like the second
one, Jaws 2 also, the second one stood on its own. Why the first ones are classics? Evil Dead’s
a classic. The second one is sort of like a remake of the first one in my eyes and built up on it.
It was like things they couldn’t do in the first one they did on the second one and it worked.
All the, you know, Bruce Campbell was in it and I can never get enough of him. He’s great. It just
worked perfectly. The effects were even though the first one the effects were great. I mean for a low
budget movie they were really – you were scared. You were scared and you were like ahh but part
two just went all out. It was just a broader, more imaginative. It was like things that Sam couldn’t
do in the first one, he brought to the plate on this one and it was accomplished. And it worked
because I feel like it gets better recognition than the first one. The first one, yes, is a
classic, but the second one you see more people like reciting lines from it and getting more into
it. And I’ve seen Evil Dead 2 more than part one. Even though I like part one. I love it. But part
two is dear to the heart, too. So, these are my three favorite horror sequels. I don’t want to be
too long-winded on everything cuz there’s other people. Dawn of the Dead, the 1978 version, Friday
13 Part 2, 1981, and Evil Dead 2, 1987. Those are my top three sequels. And I’m Phil Herman. Thank
you for giving me this opportunity to do this. I had a feeling Phil would deliver some bangers.

Happy Halloween. I’m here to tell you three of my favorite horror sequels. Um, let me put him down.
At first, I misread the question Al was asking us to answer. So, I do still want to tell you guys
about Night of the Demons 2. It’s still Halloween, but and there’s still demons obviously, but
there’s also boobs that turn into hands and nuns with super soakers filled with
holy water. But for my favorites, I’ll probably go with Halloween 2. I usually
watch Halloween and Halloween 2 back to back every October. Friday the 13th Part 2, Sackhead Jason
is still the best Jason, and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. You guys are just a bunch of haters.
Now I’ve got Holly. Happy Halloween, everybody. Finally, someone mentions the best Nightmare
sequel and dare I say the best film in the franchise, in my opinion, of course. Now, let’s
take a trip to the Pacific Northwest to see our old pal Echo Cero. Take it away, Echo. Hey. Hey.
Hey, it’s the Pacific Northwest Geek here. Echo, I put a spell on you. I put a spell on you, Cero.
Sha Sha Sha, baby. And I’m here today to do, try to remember things. The second annual Al
Lucard Halloween special. Okay and this is the the post here, and he says: attention filmmakers
and content creators it’s that time of year again second annual Al Lucard Halloween special will
return and I’m asking you to take part in this epic collaboration. This time I’m looking for a
top three of your favorite horror sequels. Okay it’s going to be fun. I’m of course uh sorry
about that. Uh right when I did the intro, got done doing the intro and got ready to talk
about actually was in the midst of talking about the first of the three films I had picked, my dog
started barking because somebody was calling for me and that’s my dog. But anyways, let’s get back
on track. As I was saying before, my dog got so rudely loud. My first one I’m gonna go with, it’s
Dead Snow 2. Now, I like the first movie. Really, really enjoyed the first movie, but the second
one even more. It’s probably one of my favorite films. It’s got the horror. It’s got the gore.
It’s got zombies. It’s got humor. I mean, it is [ __ ] up stuff. Like, the one guy, he’s talking
about an old man he’s talking about. Honey, I’m going to need you to take your dentures out
tonight. And we all know what he means by, sorry, I’m looking at my hair. I’m having a bad hair
day. We all know, but anyways, we all know what he means by, you know, old man going, “Honey,
I’m gonna need to take your dentures out.” And then, you know, of course, he finds her
severed head being held by a zombie in front of him. Fun movie. Really enjoyed it except
for one thing. Total Eclipse of the Heart is a cool song. This movie ruined that song
for me because now whenever I hear that song, I would think about the scene in this
movie when the guy who can bring the dead back brings his dead girlfriend back
as a grotesque zombie just so he can…. The car was bouncing and up and down. There was
morning and groin as he Oh, that song was playing. Moving on. Moving on. For my second REC 2, I have
the whole box set. Um, I was first introduced to the series because I had seen Quarantine and then
I found out it was a remake. Watched REC. Now, I don’t like found films. I don’t like them.
Don’t care for them. But I liked Quarantine. I liked REC. But I liked REC 2 even more.
It took what they did in the first movie, added some action, some intensity. The uh
the main, you know, monster thing in it, how like you can’t see it unless you have
like night vision or something on and if you move it can grab you. So like they got
night vision on and you get this, you know, because you know, you know, POV is found film
and they got to stand still and this creature’s like getting close like this is this is like
this girl that’s been turning some demonic, you know, skin and bone type creature that’s
just walking up to them. Oh, creepy. [Music] Oh, it’s I mean the series whole series is is a
cool series. But to me, the second one is the the best. I like the third one, too. But the third one
starts off as found film and then it switches over to being a regular format. And then, you know, we
got four, but still REC 2. You got to watch REC one to watch REC 2 because it’ll help you explain
some stuff like what what was going on in this apartment building. And although Okay. Okay. I
say that Quarantine 2 is not a remake. It’s an original story. So, but REC 2, highly suggest
watching it. And for my third pick, that’s a Plaga. It’s from the Plaga Zombie trilogy. It is
the third one. Plaga Zombie zone. Just for you, Al here. Um, the first film was made on a shoe
string budget. They use like what? Food dye and cake mix to do some of the gore effects. And
the second film, they got some more money, but they kept the effects looking the same. Probably
weren’t using a food dying cake mix anymore. And they had a music number in the second one. I was
like, “Oh, that’s pretty good.” So, I’m watching the third one, and at first I’m like, “This is
okay.” I mean, it’s it’s got some silliness. I was first I was thinking it wasn’t going to top
the uh the third second movie until they got to a big number. There is a big music number in it.
Zomba, whatever. And they got all the zombies dancing with him and everybody’s coronated dancing
and stuff. [ __ ] balling my ass out laughing. That [ __ ] was funny. Anyways, uh those are my
favorite three. Um, Dead Snow 2: Red Versus Dead, REC 2, and here all my three that I’m picking
for Al’s – the second annual Al Lucard Halloween special. If you are not subscribed to Al, then
shame on you. Shame. Check him out. And oh, by the way, hi Al. Happy Halloween to the L rocks.
Lou, don’t make a finger this time cuz it’s L. Ah, so we got lots of zombie love here. Although
he is known as Echo Zombi in some circles, so it makes a lot of sense. And yes, I do love
me some Plaga Zombie films. They’re just fun. So, check those out if you haven’t seen them.
Our horror sequel trip now ventures into the graveyards of Mexico as we visit with
the spooky Profesor Macabro. Greetings and salutations. It is I, Profesor Macabro, here to
participate in Al Lucard’s Halloween special. Yes, indeed. He posted the question and the invitation
to participate and not one to not participate in anything spooky. I am here and said question that
he posted was to mention our favorite sequels. Yes indeed. Some people say that the sequel or very
rarely a sequel is as good as the original and there are many cases that prove that point. Yes
indeed. But there comes along that sequel that is actually superior to the original. And I wanted
to share some examples, three of my favorite occasions where that happens and some sequels that
I like. The first one that I wanted to mention is the Ouija series. No, no, not the many, many,
many, many, many, many, many, many, many low budget movies that are based on the Ouija board
or the Spirit Board as it was before that big toy company copyrighted the name. But this little,
this big budget series that had a first entry, which was kind of like meh, kind of like meh, not
so good. It was just your typical boogedy boogedy jump scare with the music stinger. But then they
were like, “Shit, well, we need the money and we have the licensing right to the name. Let’s make
another one, but actually give a damn about it.” And they released Ouija: Origin of Evil. And oh
boy, this is – Well, it’s a sequel because it’s after the first one, but in story-wise, it’s a
prequel, but I’m counting it as a sequel for the purpose of this video. Yes, indeed. And the sequel
to Ouija, which is again called Ouija: Origin of Evil, is excellent. I really, really like it.
It does go into more spooky territory that just jump scares. Vibing a bit more like The Conjuring,
but very very much enjoyed Ouija: Origin of Evil. That’s one of my favorite sequels and a great
example of a sequel that far exceeds the original. Yes, indeed. The other one I’m going to mention
is one from my favorite franchise, Friday the 13th. While I will admit that Halloween 1978 is my
favorite horror movie of all time, the Friday the 13th series is my favorite franchise of all time.
Yes, indeed. I can watch any one of the entries, even eight or nine, and I will enjoy them very
much so. Yes, indeed. And my favorite sequel of Friday the 13th is part four. Of all, the Friday
the 13ths part 4 is my favorite of all time. Yes, indeed. I just like it. I like I like the kills. I
like the characters. I like the weird dancing that happens at that one moment. And it has a kid
that’s into horror movies. And when I watched this movie, I was into horror movies as this kid
inadvertently watching movies. And I was like, well, when you watch horror movies as a kid, that
tends to happen. So, I related with that. and it has Jason’s very cool and gory death. So, I quite
like Friday the 13th Part 4: the Final Chapter. That’s one of my very, very much loved sequels.
Yes, indeed. And the other sequel that I’m going to mention, and this is just for me, although it
has seemed to have gotten some resurgence love within the community, I have seen a lot of people
say that they kind of like it after re- rewatching either because they like how campy it is or
how weird it is. But when this sequel came out, it was very much hated. Called the worst sequel
of all time. So much so that Christopher Lee when he was in the set of Gremlins 2 apologized to the
creator of the first one because he was in this. But I quite enjoy this and it’s The Howling II:
Your Sister is a Werewolf or as it’s known abroad Howling II: Stirba Werewolf [ __ ] Yes indeed. Now
the Howling the first one is really cool. I quite like it. My favorite werewolf movie is still
an American Werewolf in London. And Bad Moon, that’s a good one, too. And uh but the Holly has
a really cool transformation with Robert Picardo, who was also in Gremlins 2. And the story is
really cool. It is really cool. And when they made a sequel, well, they had to change a few
things, but they have the ever amazing Reb Brown in this with Sir Christopher Lee. Yes, indeed. And
they’re fighting Sybill Danning who is a werewolf lord in the grand old country of Transylvania, you
see. And although yes, it does seem like this was originally a vampire movie. They they just adapted
to be a Howling sequel because the vulnerabilities of the werewolves are very vampire-ish. It’s still
pretty cool. I get a good chuckle whenever I see it and I always have a good time watching
Howling II: Your Sister is a Werewolf. So, that is my third favorite sequel from other
franchise. Yes, indeed. I’m very excited to see what other people mention in this video
and thank Al Lucard for letting me participate. Those are some solid choices, my friend. I’m just
glad you didn’t show the end credits to Howling 2 because I don’t think YouTube would like that
too much. So, from one mass marauder to another, we travel to the Midwest to visit another OG pal,
Mr. Bones. What you got for us, Bonesy? What up, peeps? Mr. Bones back at you. And this one’s
for my boy Al Lucard, the bat in the hat. and he asks us three of our favorite horror
sequels. I can’t remember if he said of all time or top or whatever, but I’ve never been that
good at putting such prestigious placement on things and then it bothered me later like what
if something’s better that I left out. But I’m going to give you three of my favorite sequels.
I’ve got two old school ones and one new new. So, first off, I’m naming Nightmare on Elm Street
3: Dream Warriors. It’s my favorite sequel of the Nightmare on Elm Street series. It’s just
awesome. Starring Patricia Arquette. You got the Dream Warriors where the kids have the
special powers to fight back. And then it’s got the awesome soundtrack by Dokken. Next
one I’m naming is Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. It has my boy Chop Top in it. My favorite scene at
the beginning is where they’re killing these two young guys in a truck while they have been called
in to a radio station to request a song. So, they end up recording the whole death and
then later Chop Top calls in and says, “Yeah, I want to request a song. I want to
hear that one that goes bzzz bzzz ahhhh! Music is my life.” Chop Top is awesome. Anyway,
the new new I’m throwing at you that just came out was VHS: Halloween. I’m going to be honest
here. I never could get into or liked any of the previous entries, but they knew how to draw me in
making it all about Halloween. There’s the first, the first and the last are solid in my
favorite stories. In the middle one, there’s one about Candy. Please take one. So, you
need to listen. You need to please take one or else there’s hell to pay. Some of them are better
than others. There’s one that I’m not too fond of, but it was a pretty solid entry altogether.
And I’d recommend you check it out if you haven’t seen it yet. And that’s my video
for you, Al Mr. Bat in the Hat. Peace. Okay, sounds like I need to check out that VHS
movie. One of the few in that series I haven’t watched yet. Sounds pretty killer. So, for our
final guest tonight, we shall continue with the niceties and visit with the always dapper, Mr. Dan
and Horror. [Music] Hey, what’s up everyone? Mr. Dan here participating in Al Lucard’s top three
horror sequels video for October 2025 and let’s get right to it. You can find me at Mr. Dan and
Horror on YouTube and Mr. Dan Horror & Hot Wheels on Instagram. I’m going to start off with a sequel
to a made for TV movie – one of my favorites. I’m going to go with The Night Strangler starring
Darren McGavin, the legendary Darren McGavin once again returning to the Kolchak, Carl Kolchak
role that he debuted in The Night Stalker. So Dan, the legendary TV producer and director,
Dan Curtis produced both of these films. He takes over the directing in The Night Strangler,
based on a story by Richard Matheson. You know, all of these things are lining up to to to
make a really good movie. And on top of that, you have Darren McGavin, who put his own spin on
this character, dressing them up in a rumpled suit that appeared 10 years out of fashion. That was
his idea. So, this one’s really good. Let’s take a look where they at again. They changed the setting
on this one. They’re in Seattle, and you’ve got a serial killer committing a spree of murders and
draining people of blood. Well, I think maybe that sounds a little bit too much like the vampire
in the Night Stalker. Maybe they should have come up with something a creature that was a little bit
different, but it’s okay. This is a really solid follow up. I mean, is it as good as the Night
Stalker? Maybe not quite. But I’ll tell you what, the cast in this is incredible. You’ve got Jo Ann
Pflug, Simon Oakland comes back. He’s fantastic as like a foil to Kolchak’s character. Scott Brady,
Wally Cox, and check this out – you got Margaret Hamilton from The Wizard of Oz, John Carradine
from House of Long Shadows, and 200 other horror movies, and Al Lewis from The Munsters. So,
fantastic cast. Richard Anderson is in this, too. Oscar Goldman for those of you that know,
but just a great cast and a great follow up to The Night Stalker. So, that’s my first one.
Second one. I mean, there’s so many. When you talk about Hammer and sequels, there’s so many to
choose from, but I’m going to go with a sequel to Curse of Frankenstein. Okay. And that’s going
to be Frankenstein. I’m going to take that out. Frankenstein Created Woman. This one’s really
good. Susan Denberg is incredible in this film. She gives such great performance. Her brain is
transferred or someone else’s brain is transferred into her body. So, this one deals with some gender
issues that none of the other ones really do. Just a great cast. Peter Cushing is back, of course, as
Dr. Frankenstein also starring Thorley Walters as Dr. Frankenstein’s assistant. Yeah, this is, this
was just very interesting. This is in a way the most different and interesting of the Frankenstein
sequels I think which of course the Hammer Frankenstein series didn’t follow the monster. It
followed Dr. Frankenstein. So every film you get a different type of monster. This this was this
is my favorite sequel. And finally, I’m going to go with something a little different. We’re going
to go to Hong Kong. We’re going to go way back to the 80s. Uh, I’ve been this month reviewing many
of the films from this Lam Ching-ying vampire collection. 17 films on here. Uh, starring the
legendary Lam Ching-ying, the unibrowed vampire fighter whose nickname became Mr. Vampire as a
result of these films. A lot of these films were produced by Sammo Hung. And one of the first ones
that even predated Mr. Vampire, and I have not reviewed either one of these on the channel yet,
but I will, was Encounters of the Spooky Kind. Well, way back in the day, you know, early 90s, we
happened to get Encounters of the Spooky Kind 2 on VHS, and it blew me away. I was like, “What is
this?” You know, there’s Sammo Hung. I recognize him from all the martial arts movies, but it’s
it’s a comedy and pretty funny one, too. And it’s got great atmosphere and it’s got great great
creepy atmosphere and great ghosts and vampires, but, you know, not the type of vampires we’re
accustomed to. And it’s just a a great film all around. I mean, Encounters of the Spooky Kind
too, just about as good as Encounters of the Spooky Kind. It comes real close. Those two movies
are absolutely fantastic if you’ve never seen them and you want something different that you’ve
never seen before. Check out Encounters of the Spooky Kind and Encounters of the Spooky Kind 2. I
don’t think you’ll be disappointed. So, Encounters of the Spooky Kind 2, The Night Strangler,
Frankenstein Created Women. Those are my top three horror sequels. Big thanks to Al Lucard for
inviting me to do this. And I guess I’ll see him in December for Santo Claus. I’m always eager to
celebrate a little Santo Claus. All right. Thanks. Ooh, I like it. Some different choices

bangers, minus Rob Zombie’s Halloween II. Sorry, Patrick. Some of my favorites that were
not mentioned include The Devil’s Rejects, The Beyond. Yeah, it’s a sequel. What? Amityville
