He took a long stick and tried to pull the wounded soldier to safety, but just then another shot was fired and that brave soldier was killed on the spot. The captain located the sniper from the glint of the rifle. He immediately called for air support over the radio. Within minutes, bombing began in the area. After the bombing ended, the soldiers went out to search for the sniper. Everyone thought the sniper must be dead by now, but then the captain noticed some fresh tracks on the ground. He realized that the dangerous sniper was still alive. Meanwhile, one soldier was tending to the wounded recruit. Suddenly, he saw someone running behind the bushes. He quickly grabbed his gun and ran after the figure. Along the way, he found blood stains on the ground. He understood that the sniper was injured, but just then, someone pointed a gun at his back. He turned quickly and snatched the enemy’s rifle away. Then he saw the North Korean sniper was a woman. He was shocked, yet he didn’t shoot her. He let her go, but he didn’t know that the woman’s comrades were hiding nearby. She went back and told her officer that there were many South Korean soldiers there. Her officer ordered her, “Go and finish them all.” That same day, the South Korean soldiers went on patrol. Suddenly, gunfire erupted. All the soldiers were terrified. The captain dodged the bullets and ordered everyone to scatter in different directions. He hid behind a tree himself. As another shot rang out, the captain raised his rifle and took aim. But just as he was about to pull the trigger, he saw it was the same female sniper in front of him. He hesitated for a moment, but the woman didn’t. She shot the captain. Because of one small mistake by a soldier, the captain was hit by a bullet. Still, that soldier didn’t give up. He carried the captain back to the camp. There the captain took his last breath and bid farewell to all his comrades.
