Kaijuu 8-Gou Season 2 Episode 10 Reaction – 怪獣8号 第2期 10話 海外の反応
What’s up, guys? Back in today with another reaction to Kaiju number eight. This time with episode 10. Um, was a decent episode last week. We had a bunch of Kaijus kind of popping up all over the place. They didn’t seem to cause too much damage or anything until the end of the episode where we saw that kind of shadow Kikoru um kill a bunch of people. Uh, seems like she was born from the eggs that we saw as Isa was kind of fading out of his life/conciousness. Um, and that’s probably where Her Image was kind of born from his from kind of them being in that same space, I think. But yeah, do let me know what you guys think about this episode in the comments. Um, honestly, I saw a preview for it and it looked pretty incredible. Looked like the best action of this season by far from what I saw in the preview. Um, so yeah, looking forward to it. Kai’s just going to just step on them. Oh, you can’t do that now. There’s a kid there. Oh [ __ ] Well, maybe you can. You can’t kill the kid. Yeah, I did think I said this last week. I expected that all of those popping up was some kind of like test just to see one how the response would be or two to see if they could all kind of pop up at the same time. Oh god. Worse to be right there stuck on one of those things. Nuke it. Nuke the whole place. Um, some wedding day. I am incredibly lucky. So, what happened to that kid? I mean, it sounds bad. I don’t give a [ __ ] about this wife if you just saw that kid die. Oh, Jesus. Like no, you can’t kill the wife but or the wife to be or we can kill this innocent kid in the crown. Like shouldn’t that be the other way around? But um as I did say a minute ago, I did see the preview for this one and the action looked really good. I’m just again, you know, my qualms with the action this season. I’m just hoping the sound design can be on par with what I saw the visuals did look like. Cuz I keep saying it, the the sound design for this season, especially during the fight scenes, has been awful. Like some of the worst I’ve seen in anime, which might sound really harsh and maybe over the top to some people, but I’m being genuine here. Like out of all the anime I’ve watched on my channel, I’ve watched over a hundred anime probably on my channel. And I’ve never had this same qualms with sound design with other shows than this. Just purely based off of that right there. Already seems better. There’s actually sounds to the weapons. So already an improvement. Oshina. So, have you seen that guy? He is hea’s brother or something? They kind of look like it could be. They got the same name. This is surely a distraction, right? Again, there’s way more being plotted here than just like this. This is surely a distraction from something. Or maybe it is just time for him just to call war on the world. I don’t think so though. Again, I think there’s more to this. Think this setup electromagnetic launcher device. Big ass axe. Numbers of four. Riding. That’s fast as riding as well. Let’s go. Keep going. the only one that can fly. Well, kill counters and everything. Sometimes it’s about the uh the quality of the things you’ve killed. again. So, sorry I keep doing this. Is this not just [ __ ] Like, that looks really good. Really good sound design on the monster there. I mean, I say that you heard that sound design so much, but it’s a classic for a reason. But the impact just made no sound whatsoever. Like, sorry I keep getting on to say it. Keep saying it. I’ve got to keep saying it because it keeps happening. It’s when the impact happens, there’s no [ __ ] sound. We’re here. We’re hearing the Kaiju scream and like we don’t even realize it’s getting hit because there is no impact sound. Like guys, just like watch this and really listen to it. Watch this scene again. Like it’s all set up to be like a massive hit. It looks strong, but there’s just no sound to it. There’s nothing. There’s nothing soundwise here that’s given me massive strike, killing blow. Nothing except for the scream of the the creature which happened before it even struck. So, it’s like Sorry, it’s really [ __ ] annoying cuz it’s so noticeable. It’s almost like that thing like when you play a game and there’s like a little glitch that it’s not gamebreaker or anything, but it just like you you continuously notice and always bugs you. Um something similar would be something like that, I think. And this is just like it’s just such an easy thing to like such an oversight. Like it’s just not such an easy thing to fix to like I feel nothing now. Like it looks cool as hell. loads of gore and it just feels [ __ ] because there was no sound there. Like didn’t you didn’t feel it. And it’s a shame because the animation almost goes to like I say it’s pointless, but they lessen the quality of the animation by doing [ __ ] like that. like yeah I did look up who was in charge of sound in this and they they didn’t seem to have done anything bad but they didn’t seem to done any kind of great works from what I saw either so just a massive [ __ ] shame Yeah, for some people it probably not won’t be that big a deal again. That was a really cool segment. Just a shame or complain. I imagine you guys might be sick of it by now. Honestly, I’m sick of it. I’m sick of complaining. Okay, first ride out for this dude. Sure is. See what you got. Yeah, that is a bit annoying, isn’t it? Why would you let it talk? I guess I guess. Yeah, I Yeah, I do kind of agree honestly. Like I don’t it’s not really a trust thing, but I’m not really sure I trust it. for that xenomorph tail again. That’s more tail right there. This is interesting, isn’t it? Because from what we see motion style, it’s very, it does seem like, not sure about you guys, but I feel like it is a little bit at at odds with number 10. Like number 10, from what I remember anyway, he was a huge guy. He seems very upfront, very front facing, very in your face and like nothing kind of hidden. Whereas Hosa kind of seems a bit more kind of assassin coded, a bit more sneaky, a bit more sly and and quite smooth and um and they almost seem a bit opposing to be honest with you in terms of the style. So it’s an interesting kind of mashup these two, isn’t it? I mean, we see here just like the tail, he’s got a massive ta, massively powerful tail that has a mind of its own, whereas he usually quite likes to be quite sleek and quite silky. Um, so even just like visually, the tail looks very funny when he’s holding these two like blaze like an assassin or something. So, um, yeah, it’s an interesting kind of combination we got going on here. Not sure how well it suits him, but I I guess they can grow to make it work. But um and it’s good to have a couple stars, I guess. But um it wouldn’t have been like the first person I’d match up with coach number 10 for sure. Like this this is not like an ideal matchup, I don’t think. You’re you’re getting hit. Yeah. As as I thought, these guys like seemingly are just at odds at every decision that even tried making right now. I think it probably would be better with a normal suit. feel like being told do as you’re told would piss me off if I was him. So I I that would make me even less likely to want to [ __ ] synchronize. That was card number 10. We’ll go with man. They’re just going to have to trust him. Oh wow. Oh wow. I glitched. Go. I was getting pissed in that. Well, that’s how we fire him up, isn’t it? Okay. I mean, it’s going pretty well, actually. And they do seem to be working pretty well together like stylewise Okay. Also, I don’t Okay, I didn’t really want to say anything, but I just got to point out there’s actually sound effects to the strikes going on. Makes this better. Actually makes this action pretty damn good. Nice. Pretty damn easy. Pretty damn easy. I’ve also mentioned this before. I This like would this not be such a cool game? like an actual game, like a role playinging game. Action role playing. I’m pretty sure there’s like gachas of this game. Everything’s got a [ __ ] gatcher. But um yeah, would this not be really cool like picking up different kind of kaiju armors, level them up, switching to new ones, capturing new ones and stuff and like different styles and things like that would be really cool. No, 78% Nice. Went better than I thought it would. I mean, not initially, of course, but that went pretty well. Super massive black Kaiju. They look a bit lost, those K, don’t they? looking about is that do you reckon that’s the thing I was pulling out in the intro of what what the goal is here is to get him to reveal himself by just popping up everywhere. pop up everywhere. Some some place will need him to transform. Maybe that’s the logic behind it. Does kind of suck though. He he has to just like let this happen. Let people die essentially just cuz he doesn’t want to be just cuz he can’t be found. Oh god, what is this? A BFG. Okay, that episode was over quickly. Um, it was pretty much all action beginning to end. There’s some really nice action. Um, again, apologies for the complaints yet again. Same complaints every [ __ ] week. It’s really annoying. And um, it’s also like it’s not it’s not even like it’s consistent cuz in that second half of the episode, we did have some really good sound effects to the strikes and the like the slashes. some really quick like and the first half we just like it hardly had any sound effects to anything. It’s just like maybe there’s different people on different segments, but um I’m hoping it’s not the case of they just it’s an oversight and and it’s like they forgot to put them in cuz it it almost does feel like they forgot to put sound effects in. Like it’s that apparent. How can you how can you what kind of quality control goes on where you can watch that scene happen three, four, five times? Cuz if I was if I was um someone that was on like the board of this anime or something that would have to like again quality control and and watch the episode over and over again to make sure it was okay. The first thing that come out my mind was that animation looks really nice, but I didn’t feel that hit. It didn’t feel the animation didn’t strike me as much as it would in another show. And the reason for that is because there was no [ __ ] sound to it. So maybe it’s an oversight. Maybe it’s a choice. There’s a choice. In my opinion, it’s a terrible choice. It’s an oversight that doesn’t make it any better. But um yeah, just annoying honestly. But yeah, great second half especially. I do think that that’s a really nice action. I seeing Hinar and his number 10 kind of bond a little bit. The fan Classic. Oh, is it? So, no, we do have an episode next week. So, there is just no end segment. That’s a shame. Well, it was nice uh nice being with you. Now, we didn’t have this in season one, did we? I don’t remember it. Um but yeah, thank you guys for watching. Uh no preview or anything. Um I imagine that will come up later in the week. Um as I said, some really nice action here. Even the first half did look really good. There was some really great looking stuff. Fortunately, again, I won’t go into it anymore, but had some uh had some defects in my opinion. Um, am I being stupid here or I don’t recognize this character that we saw in this like classic kind of Japanese setting at all. Um, Hosa Sojiro and just purely based off the eyes. I’m assuming that’s Hosu’s kind of brother or something. Maybe like an older brother, but um I don’t remember ever seeing this guy before. So, he’s certainly a character I looking forward to seeing more of. Um, yeah. Yeah, I didn’t know anything about that to be honest with you. I think Kikori was really cool. Uh, I did, as I said, I did watch the uh the trailer. So, I saw this shot specifically and it I really like again it looks amazing, doesn’t it? Just like the uh the metal reflects and such looks really cool. Her design is pretty awesome. Again, seeing her going flying about and such is great. Again, the defects really kind of spoiled it in my opinion. Uh spoiled a really cool little sequence. So, shame about that. But, uh other than that, some really nice uh some really nice animation in this uh second half. Um again, seeing Hoser number 10 kind of come together. Um it’s not exactly Hosa’s kind of style. I’m hoping that’s a thing where he can cuz I think that’s what made Hos one of my favorite characters in season one. His just his style of kind of doing things. that kind of sleek kind of um again almost assassin kind of undercover uh undercover is not the right word but you you know what I’m saying like um cool kind of style to it and if he loses that that will be a bit of a shame but uh still pretty damn cool just seeing him going head on taking on these things here. Um, again, apologies for so much complaining, but it’s just been the the biggest issue for me this season has been that sound design. Um, maybe not even the sound design, just like the the the choice at when to put some of when to place some of the sound effects and specifically when not to play some sound effects. Um, it just it just seems credible to me that it got past any kind of test screening or whatever. Uh, but again, let me know what you guys want in the comments.
