ゾンビの黙示録…でも猫が?! | ニャイト・オブ・ザ・リビングキャット キャストインタビュー

And another fun thing is for me, I’m arguing with my friends about like, you gotta check out this, but they’re not cat people. They’re like, dogs have more personality. And I’m like, I don’t know about that. So, how do you guys feel about that? Like, how do you convince the the dog people out there? It’s a that’s a really hard line, you guys, right? Because there it’s like there’s this divide. I think why can’t you like both? And also, cats are so sweet. They’re just a little bit different than dogs. Nerd reactor roll out. Nite of the Is that how you pronounce it? Nite of the living cat. N of the living cat. Yeah. And the concept’s crazy. It’s kind of like a zombie apocalypse, but with cats. But what I like about this is that, you know, when you think of a zombie apocalypse, all right, let’s hurt the zombies, but with the cats, you can’t do it. And when joining this project, what was that like when you like did you felt, you know, relieved about that? Yeah, it’s exciting. It’s kind of It’s adorable because you just want to hug them. You don’t want to run. I would not survive five seconds because I would just hug them all and touch them and then I’d be a cat. I think a lot of the fun and the humor comes from the ways in which um the ways in which our characters uh try to kind of deal with the world that they’re living in, but without hurting the cats. No cats are damaged in the in this. They they you know they’re protected. Sure. So they’re you know they’re spraying they’re kind of spraying water at them to get them to go away or he cries about it later. Throwing catnip. Yeah. At one point uh at one point my character Kinagi, you know, he’s fully uniformed. So the cat, you know, can’t infect him, but he he picks up a cat and he’s and you think he’s about to like hurl it and then he’s like, “No, I can’t do it.” And sets him back down and lets him go. So u you know, that’s there’s a lot of that. Yeah, I think that it’s so interesting that they are uh our passion. We’ve found, you know, a kindred spirit in the love of cats and yet it is also our demise in the temptation and and fighting against uh you know the willpower not to, you know, not to cuddle with cats in order to lose your your human your humanity. So, there’s one right here. I think it’s kind of smart and uh and most of all, it’s fun. It’s really fun. And we’re at a cat cafe. So, I was wondering if there’s like any cats that you’ve grown fond with where you’re like, I want to have this cat by my side in a nandemic. These little black cats uh are really sweet. They’ve been sleep when was sleeping here. That little guy’s been here. And I think the the little tabby that’s been sitting on the chair, they’re all they’re all really cute. I want them all. I want all the kittens, too. This cafe has a kitten room uh that’s separate and uh there’s one in there who is a real hunter. He’s he he spends his time if you just stand at the window and you watch he he just kind of he he kind of has fun kind of stalking the other cats. So they’re they’re napping or doing their thing and he’s just kind of I don’t know. He’s he’s compelling to watch. I think I kind of like these cats up here that are just really chill. Uh not bothered by any of it. not bothered by uh whatever’s happening or not happening. So, maybe I should take a page from the upper deck there. All of these cats are adoptable, by the way. So, uh if anyone’s coming to this cat cafe or others near you, you might you might have a chance to uh you know, bring home a door prize. Bring home a door prize, parting gift. So, do you think uh like as you mentioned, Lou, with the cats up there, do you think it’s a part of your personality, too, why you chose those cats? Yeah, I’m fundamentally a lazy person. I I see where you’re going, John. I’m I I would agree with you on that that I uh I’m not ultra motivated. Uh I I like uh I like a good nap during the middle of the day, you know. Um, I’m not a necessarily a nocturnal person. This guy, I love this guy because he he just comes in to check it out and then leaves. Uh, but yeah, I I would say I um I like to live a luxurious lifestyle of a cat. What about you, Jason? Uh, you know, I I just I’m I marvel at the way these cats have their everyone has their own personality. Um, they’re not like dogs. Dogs are just fundamentally dogs, you know. And I have a dog. I love them. But uh uh these cats are really it’s really interesting to see these cats in groups. I mean our in our family, we have one cat, but when you see these cats kind of socializing with with each other, uh it it it it does kind of feel like, hey, there’s there could be some danger here. We’re on their turf. Good point. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Ria, I mean, I just love cats. I think it’s so cute and it’s nice to be in a cat cafe. It’s nice to see that the cats are up for adoption, too, if anyone’s interested in doing it. And what a fun show to be a part of. I’ve never seen an anime quite like this one. Um, I just think it’s really it’s been a fun wild ride. Every day or anytime we get to go into the studio, you know, it’s going to be a fun experience and a fun time. I always get to see and hear their characters because they always record before me. So, I get to hear and see everything you guys do, and it makes it even more fun when I go in there and do what I have to do. So, it’s fun. And another fun thing is for me, I’m arguing with my friends about like, you got to check out this, but they’re not cat people. They’re like, dogs have more personality. And I’m like, uh, I don’t know about that. So, how do you guys feel about that? Like, how do you convince the the dog people out there? It’s a that’s a really hard line, you guys, right? cuz there it’s like there’s this divide. I think why can’t you like both? And also cats are so sweet. They’re just a little bit different than dogs um personalitywise, but I think you know don’t don’t hate on the cats, but like like both of them. It’s okay. You don’t have to draw the line in the sand be like it’s cats or dogs, you know? I love all of them. Like I wish I could have all the dogs and all the cats. So that’s just me. I’m sorry. This show is a sendup obviously of of the apocalyptic and zombie genres. Um, but in most of those shows, the, you know, the zombies are just, they’re just mindless. You know, they’re just out to, you know, eat your flesh and there’s there’s not a lot. Uh, you know, cats uniquely are um they’re these cats are not mindless and even and the ones in the show are typical cats. They’re not zombie cats. Uh, but they will turn you into a cat if if they jump on you and they touch your skin, you know, if you So, uh, we learn more about that process as the show goes on. You know, every every episode reveals a little more about kind of what happened to cause the the cat demic or the nandemic or whatever they’re calling it. Um, so, um, but but yeah, the the the I think, you know, I think the one of the great things about the show is that you don’t have to be a a cat lover or a dog lover to to watch and enjoy it. Um, but it it it it certainly is there for you if you are, and I think for, you know, cat lovers for sure. But if you love horror fan, if you’re a horror fan or a horror comedy, you’re going to love this. I think this show kind of breaks out of its kind of anime, at least in North America, the expectations about what what is an anime and what is it and who are our fan base. I think um this is a show that I think potentially uh a lot of uh could could find it could find a lot of fans outside of the typical anime fan base. That’s what it’s going to do. I think a lot of um I think it’s going to bring in a lot of people who’ve maybe never were into anime or ever seen anime because there are people that have not. Um and they might just love it because it’s fun. It’s it’s it’s interesting and it’s getting crazy. It’s going to get crazier and it’s fun. It’s a good show. And I think with the uh the first episode like it’s a great start on showing how crazy things are and then Lou you you’re a character. I’m like, I know. Spoiler, spoiler alert. Uh, you turn into a cat. You know what’s great about it is, uh, it it speaks to his his affection for cats. Uh, which I love. I love We have this burly, you know, macho alpha male with 12-pack anime abs. Clearly spends time at the gym. Cool fauxhawk, but just cannot deny his passion for the feline. And um, it becomes his demise. and then we flash back and he’s part of the moving world. So we it’s like um good anthology storytelling very smart and so we give the uh we give the creator a lot of credit for that. So uh and back to your friend with the dogs I would just ask him sorry where are the dogs in this world? It’s a good question. Okay. Yeah. So, you know, it’s a brave new world and there’s no dogs or rats apparently. I don’t see any mice, rats, birds. Look, these they are very organized. They could have, you know, the cats could have just ate all the dogs. Exactly. What are they going to eat next? This is Rosemary’s baby of Cuz where are they? I don’t know. Yeah. Where are they? Where did they go? All dogs go to heaven. There you go. They’re in heaven. And uh last question I want to ask uh because in the the fourth I think it’s the fourth episode there’s like a a giant cat. And so the thing when when you’re uh cats like to size other creatures whether they’re like smaller, bigger and I always think like if I’m the size of a cat, would the cat try to eat me? So like how do you feel about that? Uh being eaten by a big cat? Yeah. I mean I don’t want to go through that. I’d rather be eaten by a shark. There you go. Shark week. Wow. Uh it doesn’t sound very pleasant. Sounds scary. Uh I think we would all probably avoid that uh typically. Uh so, you know, wouldn’t want to That cat in particular is is boss cat. That’s a hefty cat. A lot of bling too on that cat. And there’s a lot of mystery to that cat. So, I would I would I would I would advise you to keep your eye out on that cat. I don’t think that cat even wants to eat us. I think he just wants his Diero, his money, and maybe some more jewels. You know, he looks busy. I think he’s not going to eat us. Yeah. Bling bling cat. Yeah. Busy. He’s just chilling. He just wants his cut. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, it’s a pleasure chatting with you three and Yeah. Can’t wait for everyone else to just keep on watching the show. Yeah. Night of living. Night. Night of living. Night.
