We finally got a tangible goal now.
I'm really enjoying your reactions to this anime. It's great to see someone just chill and let the story take you on a journey, through all the ups and downs.
Thanks for being the catalyst to my eyeball washing today.🥲
If you zoom in on the map from Ep 1 you'll see a lot (I think most) of the places shown in the anime. You can follow their travels.
Frieren was already older in human terms when she was with Flamme, than Fern was when Frieren started training her. I'd put her at ~1,300 years old now.
Haven't checked the comments on previous episodes, but these first 4 were aired back-to-back in Japan in a time slot normally used for movies. They form a sort of prologue for the remaining 24 episodes. When I point people to Frieren I recommend they watch all 4 in one go, if they can.
It's densely written, with close to zero filler. You are good at picking up on stuff the first time, but you're still missing some things. 🙂Many conversations which might seem like they're making scenes/characters more believable, and even minor details that could be taken as the animators flexing, turn out to be important. It's one of the few anime I truly feel benefits from a rewatch (but not until you're seen the whole thing first)…fair warning, things will hit different if you do that.
Combat is obviously not the focus, but when it happens it's consistently turned up to 11. 🤘
Frieren, Himmel, Heiter and Eisen were together 10 years during their adventure, that covers starting off from the King’s castle, fighting demons along the way to the Demon Kings castle, defeating the Demon King and then traveling back to the King’s castle were they went their separate ways. So traveling to Ende, where the Demon King’s castle is, shouldn’t take a full 10 years.
Finally done with the prologue 🧐
One of my favorite quotes from the anime. "Even after a thousand years, I'm still dancing in the palm of my master's hand"
Any time you have a question in this anime it will be answered. If not immediately, then in a later episode.
