In the novel Dongsoo wasn't there outside the red gate but in the manhwa he was.
The reason Dongsoo leaves is because he gets an emergency message from his guild back in USA. You will see why next episode.
. Chul Kim by this time had actually not eaten for days and had some frostbite. So part of me feels a little sorry for him. But he did choose to separate into these groups. So he made his bed as the saying goes.
FYI Chul means Iron in Korean ironically

Also notice where Kim's sword is. It's hard to tell but jinwoo kicks it back to where Kim was to give him the option to help defeat the boss or attack him. Either way Chul Kim would be helping to kill the boss. All he had to do is attack the boss and he might have lived. But he chose death ☠️.
The system was made for a specific reason and Because he has the system the voice doesn't register him as an enemy though.
The system is interfering and causing the glitches. There's a reason for this but i can't say anymore because of spoilers. But I will point out that the other hunters didn't notice anything which is telling. So only Jinwoo saw that glitch.

Later on you get more shadows with interesting personalities as the story progresses. Some are cute, funny, others are so dramatic. As they level up they become more kinda sentient and their personalities start being more apparent.
Yoonho Baek has the eyes of the beast. That's why they change color. So he can tell how powerful Jinwoo is. In the novel he thought if he fought him that he would win but possibly have to be prepared to lose a limb in the process.
When his hair turns white and he has claws it's the first stage of his transformation abilities. There's a reason it's called the white tiger guild 😊. He's another character I like.
.I wish he could have gotten Barca/ Barkua as a shadow soldier. I could see Igris having to constantly break up fights with Barca and another shadow soldier that Jinwoo will get. I won't say who but anyone who has read the source material will get it. 🤣
in case you didn't notice the HUD screen pop up when Jinwoo stabbed Barca/ Barkua where paralysis was applied. So that's why he doesn't move/dodge Iron's hammer.
Jinho is always coming up with new outfits 😁. Also he is soooo nice, and just like myself at times misunderstandings things. But he's just so chipper it makes me smile.
Unfortunately Jinwoo not as strong yet as many think he is. All of the other S-rank in the country are more powerful than him at the moment. Don't worry he will be stronger than the other S-rank in this country by the end of season 2. However there's other S-rank hunters in the world that are still stronger than him at that point in the story. Jinwoo will eventually get stronger than them too but that's later on in the story.
Iron just in case you didn't notice
The red aura and red glowing eyes is called the shout of provocation a taunt skill to draw aggro from the boss in other words, keep the bosses attention on him so the other fighters can attack while he's distracted.
After the job change quest his shadow storage is max at 20 but by the time he leaves the red gate his shadow storage is max 30. Just wait until the max is in the hundreds of thousands or millions.
this is my interpretation as to why Iron looks the way he does
It's because Chul Kim is arrogant and thinks he's big stuff so he is bigger and has cool armor.
Just like Igris kept his eye scar as a badge of honor.
