I couldn’t participate in last year’s rewatch because I was already in too many rewatches at the time, but this year’s sprung up when I still had one more spot left in my schedule, so here I am! Been wanting to watch it for a while, mostly because I loved almost every other KyoAni show I’ve seen so far + I know this and Full Metal Panic! were written by the same guy. **First Timer, Source Reader, Subbed**
I am one of the few people in this damn Subreddit to have read Gatoh’s novels, I am contractually obligated to be here.
First of all, ah, that KyoAni goodness. I personally pictured the whole thing looking like Monogatari when I read the Novels, but there’s no denying that this fits the wonderful fairyland (Quotation needed) that is AmaBuri. They also got Sento naked in the OP so they definitely know what us guys want out of an Anime. Speaking of, damn is she perfect. It’s one thing to have Kanie or the narrator say she’s constantly poker-faced, but the dull framing many of her bits have just highlight how few shits she gives about letting Kanie have a good time.
I mentioned this before in CDF, but I must say I didn’t expect the mascots would be this *tiny.* I mean I know Kanie referred to them as “A bunch of Chibis” once or twice but I thought he meant that more in terms of the artstyle, *not* them being tiny like that. Still, Moffle himself is good: That perpetual Sagara Stare is perfect, even if he’s sadly not Tomoko Kaneda here [](#sadholo)
I will say though, this isn’t actually a *complaint* per say but it does feel like the way the Anime is directed the fact that there’s some supernatural stuff going on is somewhat less of a surprise. The Novel reminded me a lot of the first Haruhi Suzumiya Novel, which was written in such a way where [Haruhi]>!it was kinda hard to tell if there actually *was* supernatural stuff happening or everyone was just messing with Kyon.!< Now obviously it doesn’t reach quite the same level of messing with the reader (The whole chunk before the big reveal happens much later in Haruhi than AmaBuri and the very fact that the Novel is narrated in the third person does lead some events to have some degree of objectivity that isn’t there in Haruhi, which never once leaves Kyon’s perspective) but it was something that stood out. Here though, that’s missing, so when Kanie suddenly reads mind it feels more like ~~the epilogue, or rather~~ the punchline to a joke, plus just the inherent difference of dropping it in Episode 1 out of 12 instead of Chapter 1 out of 4 (Discounting a prologue and epilogue). None of this is me criticizing the show, just moreso a general observation.
That bit at the end was also all I needed to know that [Novel]>!this is not gonna be a very accurate adaptation of Volume 1: Much higher goal to reach, many more days. I guess they’re gonna go all Eupho on it and stretch it out across a whole 12 episode run. Which hey, Eupho ~~but moreso the flawless masterpiece that is The Tatami Galaxy~~ showed this is far from a bad idea so I’m looking forward to see what they do to make time till the ending.!<
I dunno what else to say, a bunch of these events are fairly fresh on my head (I started reading the books like two weeks ago without even knowing this Rewatch was coming) so I was perpetually getting a feeling of Déjà vu when reading this. The next episode previews are amazing though [](#azusalaugh)
So much happened lol! Got a chunk of my thoughts above in reply to Shimmering-Sky, as for the rest:
OP gets a 7 and ED gets a 6 for the moment, let’s see how a few more listens affects that and as I see more of the cast to tie into the visuals.
Never done a shooting game that intense at a fair/carnival lol, usual just the one where you have to shoot the shape out of a piece of paper. I used to kick butt at my local town carnival tossing beanbags at these weird cat targets though, still have a few stuffed animal prizes in a box in the attic probably from those wins lol. Obviously from the winners wall photos in the episode Moff is looking for a certain kind of player to really get those good scores :). If the park wasn’t geared mostly to kids I’d say Seiya should switch the sweets house to a paintball course and market to the older crowd.
Also forgot that the manager makes the magic croquettes that everyone loves, I’m gonna have to try a recipe and have some to munch on by the finale!

1) Dude can have the princess, I’ll take the one in the toiban. I mean, to not quite misquote Eye-gore, um, never mind. I don’t predict romance as much as shenanigans.
2) It’s been more than a few years since I last watched this, and it was on Crunchyroll at the time. Or was it Funimation? It’s been a while. There’s a lot I didn’t remember, and stuff. I think the thing that still bugs me the most is the little flashback PTSD bits (also in the OP) with the Princess. I get the feeling there’s some disturbing backstory there. Maybe why the child star quit? I dunno.
3) I think Sento’s *attractions* looked most appealing, but I should probably shut up now. 😛
Meanwhile, back to my second favorite attraction, Moffle’s Candy House *Of Horrors* … I wanna go shoot the mousies!
Kanie was playing it like a joke, he hardly tried.
I want to (wish they had done this) see Sento take on the mousies. I bet she can beat insane mode.
Otherwise, I guess the thing that struck me, although I can’t say it’s a new observation is what a great job they did on portraying a totally run down theme park.
Aside: I used to visit Six Flags once or twice a year, until one year, about 2PM, I suddenly got the feeling it wasn’t for me anymore. Can’t imagine why. I think that was around 2001. Anyway, they used to have two log rides, but eventually one of them was abandoned, and wandering through the park and seeing this abandoned log flume ride in the middle of an otherwise “vibrant” park was very much a non-sequitur.
This entire episode reminded me of that log ride.
Also, hail Kyo-Ani – They make even a run down, hard luck theme park look amazing.

Sento is probably the hottest anime girl I’ve ever laid eyes on.

It’s hilarious Seiya is such a narcissist, that’s definitely different than most anime MCs.
I guess the love hotel must’ve spent a lot in bribes to the transit company so that the bus stop never got renamed. Since so many couples visit the amusement park, getting the stop confused with a love hotel must be reallt good for business.
“My reflexes will knock your thigh-high socks off”. My man has been paying attention to what’s important.
I guess Moffle’s frequent visitors are just wargame fanatics. Makes sense, given the whole killing theme.
Out of the 4 fairies I definitely like Sylphy the best, but it’s hilarious how Salama has this “what am I doing here, I want to go home” look of a retail worker.
The tour is over, and it’s almost impressive how every single ride and attraction in the park is sad and decrepit.
Daaaaaaamn Isuzu is stacked.

This animation style sure brings back memories… it’s been a while since anime looked like this. Late 2000s to early 2010s. I felt young once again. The OP was nice and it even has that TV announcement thing (I’ve never known how it’s named) from that era.
Kannie tried to take some control in this “date” , but its not an option for you, Seito has a gun and may use it If he doesn’t comply. Japanese bystanders love gossip about our main characters, she’s wearing a mid skirt, he’s so overconfident yada yada, I found hilarious that She’s carrying a gun and no one bats an eye.
Seito knows lots about this park and its attractions… a park that has seen better day. Even its main entrance is now a Love Hotel. Seito takes her date for tour a this decaying park. The rat shooting game looks funny I wanna play as well.
That Moffle costume looks so good. HAHAHA it started beating up Kannie. The fight ended literally with a bang.It was a man in a costume right, surely you are joking Seito. The fairies seem nice. Water fairy is best grill.
Yes! Amagi park sucks and that made Kannie enraged, but that wasn’t the reaction I was expecting from Seito. OMG she’s got a full dossier on him, so detailed in the emotional side that got him an outburst.
So he’s got a past as a famous child actor (better hide him from P. Diddy), it was his stomach that made him interested in the park, so Seito takes him to meet the Princess CEO herself, whose he supposed to replace.
They’re taking this Magic Kingdom, maple land, fantasy very seriously. It was real!? Magic transference Kiss, and another ship joins my fleet. was that a flashback? are they childhood friends?
Back at home Seito is there naked. and he has mind reading powers!<
And roll credits. ED sounds good aswell.
Now to the questions.
1. I know my early 2010s anime
tropes I want Latifah but Sento will win. Its now
2. I was expecting it a little more lively. The scenes and trailer and OP are full of activities and here it still seems kinda calm.
3. As said before definitely the rat shooting game.
4. Both OP and ED are kinda 6-7/10. But its not a cruel score. I just can’t compare them with AOT OP 3 or Code geass OP 1. Or Spy x family ED 2. absolute bangers
I think this themes will grow on me during the rewatch.
It was a fun episode. I liked that Seito was completely deadpan while Kannie was freaking out or snarking about the park. Solid episode, I would and will watch episode 2. See you tomorrow

**Rewatcher**
This episode didn’t have much of the weird, weird characters, it was mainly an introduction to the park itself. And the park really brought back memories. I’ve been to Japan a number of times, and been to a number of parks like this. Faded, tired, more staff than guests, lots of stuff out of order, getting overgrown by weeds. It can be quite awkward going up to a ride, and the guy there has to run it specifically for you because you’re the only person there. They go through the whole process, and write down on the ride log “1”.
What’s annoying is that on the other side of the coin, you have the big parks, Disney, Universal, etc, absolutely bursting with guests. You go there and stand in a line for four hours for a ride and all you can do while you’re waiting is look at the sky, it’s magic hour. There are people that want to go to theme parks, they just have to go to the ‘standard’ one. Oh, and then when they do get on the ride, they take selfies of themselves and spend the rest of the ride ignoring the ride so they can edit their selfies before posting them.
Also, another weird thing about Japan is just how few kids there are. A lot of you are probably familiar with “少子化”, but theory is one thing. Going to a kid-centric place and every kid having 2+ adults with them is another.
Anyway this show isn’t about the downfall of Japan. It’s about Kanye West and 50 Cent saving Queen Latifa.

* Man I knew I’d be late to the first episode after we delayed it, not used to doing these at 22:00EST.
* Honestly kind of annoyed that Crunchyroll doesn’t have this anymore, and Prime you need to buy it (already own the Bluray, really need to get around to buying an external Bluray drive), glad I checked that out before the rewatch started and found an alternative or I’d be in trouble.

Inside is no different, weeds growing in the cracks on the ground, the fountain is empty and dirty, spider webs are growing on stuff, and there’s a dead frog on the ground.
* Also, it’s a ghost town. 2,110 average guests on holidays, I’m no expert on running theme parks, but that doesn’t sound like it’s a good thing.

* Elementario, basically a stage show with four faires, Muse the fairy of water, Sylphy the fairy of wind, Koboli the fairy of Earth, and Salame the fairy of fire.
* Fun fact, Sylphy is voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa, who would go on to voice Omae Kumiko in Hibike Euphonium.
* Given the state of the gentle flower ride, I would not go on that roller coaster.
* This music brings me back to my days as a kid playing roller coaster tycoon on the old family computer, well mainly the demo since I never owned the game until I was older, so many hours spent on that Diamond Heights scenario.

* She wants Kanie to become the new manager of the park in an attempt to get another 250k guests before the deadline or the park will close, and the maple landers won’t become homeless.
* So, the premise of the show is, Queen Latifa and 50 Cent ask Kanye West to help restore their theme park so they don’t lose their home.
* In order for him to believe her story, she endows him with magic, by kissing him. We see a bit more of that memory and he passes out and wakes up back home.
* **GYATT DAMN SHE THICC.** Forgot that KyoAni can and has done some lewd scenes.
* Major props to Kanie for immediately slamming the door shut like a normal person would instead of doing the cliche thing that most anime MC’s do and stare at her, even if she does have a nice butt, no excuse to stare at it, plus she’d probably shoot your eyes out.
* Also props to Sento for also not blowing his head off for accidentally seeing her naked, most female characters would at the least slap the MC in the face for that.
* lol, his sisters name is Aisu, so we have Kanye West complaining to Ice Cube about why 50 Cent is in their bathroom.

OP is a 10, and ED is a 9 (Fun Fact, on a whim I decided to do my write ups for the episodes prior to the start of the rewatch, not something I do normally, but decided to do it all at once, normally I’m only an episode ahead as a buffer in case something comes up to prevent me from watching that days episode, and you’ll see a more natural reaction to the ED in a few episodes.)

Well epsiode starts in a one heck of a way. Asking someone on a date while pointing a gun in them though I have seen this clip before.
Kaine seems a bit obbesed with himself to the point that people around him start noticing it.
Why the fck the entrance of the amusement part turned into love hotel?
The Amusement park really is in poor condition. Also why the people visiting it looks so devoid of life? Like they looks so bored.
Turned out this park is run by people who came from magical realm which I already suspected it since that mascot made a appearance cause they will way it was moving didn’t feel very human. Oh and there are fairires too.
Kaine received mind reading powers from general manager Latifa. Also seems like he has visited this park or Latifa before in the past.
Overall a funny epsiode. Isuzu has a eye-catching design. They way she speaks remind me of Senjougahara from Monogatari
And she also keeps very less expressive face most of the time like her. Will be interested in seeing how she came in contact with park , how she knew all about Kaine and what’s her motivation to help the park out.
Unfortunately the director of the series Yasuhiro Takemoto passed away in the arson attack at KyoAni.
First-timer, raw
Hey this was fun! The girl’s deadpan guidance was hilarious, as was the realistic depiction of a theme park where they’d cut all the corners. A summary of this episode probably wouldn’t catch my attention, but the amazing pacing really made it work.
I also liked the latter half. Flashbacks hinting at the MC’s forgotten are a well-worn trope, but again, the direction was impeccable. Besides, the uniqueness of this MC actually does have me interested in how he got this way.
And the classic, unironic princess character is something I just realized we’ve mostly forgotten and feels fresh and new. She’s a great counterpoint to the zany two leads.
Questions
1.Romance
It feels like there’s going to be some doki-doki, but not an outright resolution. For him to end up with the princess would be refreshing though.
2.Expectiations
All I knew was that there’s a theme park involved. I didn’t expect it to be decrepit or that there would be actual magic lol. It’s certainly zanier than I expected!
3.Attractions
Not the coaster lol. If I’m going to go more than a few times, developing strategies for the mice-killing one would be fun. Also the girls in the stage show were giving it their all despite the lousy audience, so I wouldn’t miss it.
That’s certainly something to spring on someone at the barrel of a gun.
Ah, bureaucracy.
This place looks like a dump.
Everything’s out of order and all the staff have quit. Yup, that about sums up any Planet Coaster run that’s gone to shit.
These kinds of light gun games are fun, I’d have definitely gone through this over and over again as a kid. Actually, I distinctly remember having done so in some kind of Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Vs LGMs ride in some Disney park. Maybe Hong Kong or Tokyo.
Some of them certainly have run out of shits to give.
Could be worse. God knows some of the pre-built designs are _really_ bad. To say nothing of the either ridiculously boring or outright lethal rides most players end up putting together (the fact it hasn’t killed them with several hundred lateral Gs already places it head and shoulders above the Blender coasters RTGame makes, at least in terms of practicality if not actual entertainment value).

I don’t think there’s anyone who does Planet Coaster or RCT “disaster save” videos like LegendOfTotalWar or Bitt3rSteel. Perhaps an idea for Marcel Vos?

I’d imagine a good place to start would be blocking off most of the park and just having a couple fixed-up rides as a quick moneymaker while slowly fixing up and cleaning up the rest of the park, opening it up bit by bit as it is repaired. 3. I’ve seen worse coasters in PC/RCT. I’ve _made_ worse coasters in PC/RCT (it beats what I used to make of “slope going up on a chain link, turn around 180, slope going down”).
These kinds of light gun games are fun, I’d have definitely gone through this over and over again as a kid. Actually, I distinctly remember having done so in some kind of Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Vs LGMs ride in some Disney park. Maybe Hong Kong or Tokyo.
