  1. Ron Kamonohashi returns! Grappling with the revelation that the people who orchestrated not only framing him but also leaving him with a deadly ability to kill criminals are none other than the House of M, and they’re already planning to do even worse to drive him to despair.

The OP is pretty fun and action-packed, as Ron and Toto do battle in a world of murder orchestrated by the House of M, and directly confronting Winter Moriarty! Also, Amamiya is the only main character without a first name!

Amamiya still appears to want nothing to do with Toto if she can help it, but she’s always happy to see her beloved Kamoo-san in his latest cover identity of a sweets seller! So good he even manages to seduce a police detective on the job into signing a contract.

But less amusing is a grisly murder of a man whose body was pierced and left for dead on a unicorn statue. Not even Ron’s usual sweet talking a corpse can downplay how serious this is. Especially when they find out the poor stiff was left holding on for dear life above the statue before he let go and died. And the House of M left a calling card AND clues to the next murder to make sure Ron knows this is personal and that it’s deliberately trying to drive him to despair.

Yeah, these guys look like crypto criminals. Not that it means they deserve what Winter is doing to them.

As nice as it is to see Chikori, I’m not sure if they have the time to humor her, but as a Shibuya Native she might offer some insight.

To think the biggest clue to crack the next possible murder was a dude complaining about the handling of his yakitori.

Well, should’ve expected they wouldn’t be able to prevent the 2nd murder, but it happened right under their noses thanks to a smokescreen and leaving the 2nd victim with an arrow to the chest. And a new clue to the final murder. Toto is after the last possible victim, but can Ron crack the code and figure out how to save him before Winter ends him?

The new ED is cute and serene with the pastel colors and all your favorite season 1 characters/moments! Including buck-naked Amamiya! All the while Ron and Toto put the puzzle pieces together!

  2. Time_Fracture on

One of two sequels I watch this season. We are so back.

Hopefully nothing changes much. So far I noticed Amamiya’s lips are…. thicker this season? Also some animations are static, but if the plot still enjoyable, I will definitely still enjoy this season, just maybe give a lower score later.

Revelations 9:6 “During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.”, same as with the plate’s message.

  3. I waited eagerly for this!

This episode was darker than the entirety of season one combined. I was internally screaming throughout the episode. Ron, poor baby! Fuck House of M so hard, neither Ron nor the victims deserve this.

I had a good feeling about S2 and this episode did not disappoint. I have high hopes for this show, fingers crossed.

  4. ObvsThrowaway5120 on

Man, it’s nice to have Ron and Toto back. First case back and it’s already personal. House of M really like their little games don’t they? They’ve got a real thing for the theatrics.

  5. Anime Sherlock is back! With extra anime bullshit going by the House of M subplot coming into play with hot Evil Lizbeth Salander.

Bold moves too. Implaling a guy on a unicorn, shooting another in the middle of Shibuya Crossing. I’m curious what they have planned for the third guy that ran off.

  6. my boys are back! and it is not starting off slow at all, two deaths, one episode, can you save the third, Ron?!

  7. The thing what Winter is doing is that he is cluing Ron where to go, but in a twist, he will kill them before Ron can save them. Such a cruel thing to do.

Ron with the good old that is what Isshiki said as he makes deductions.

  8. We’re back! Man I missed Ishiki and Ron. Can’t believe it’s been like a year since this was last on. They wasted no time throwing us right back into the thick of things with the House of M/Ron conflict intensifying. Thought we would kinda have a chill first episode with how those first few moments started, but nah this quickly went real dark real quick.

It’s so weird seeing Ron who’s normally cooler than the other side of the pillow and extremely composed getting irritated and even frustrated with not being able to solve stuff in time. The unicorn impaling murder was brutal as fuck man, imagine the emotional and mental turmoil you’d be in hanging on for dear life. But even when they found out where the next murder was gonna be taking place they couldn’t stop it.. has to be deflating for Ron who’s been lauded his whole life as a detective prodigy

This time the cases are clearly way more personal to Ron and you can see from how they’re showing his eyes more and even the way he talks being different, play time’s over. Can’t wait to see more of this battle against House of M. Also great seeing my baby Amamiya again! Chikori cute too, but something feels off with her idk

  9. Man I wish more people were on this. It really keeps you on your toes and guessing throughout! Also, Winter is a girl…right?
