Hello! This is my first digital art post on this subreddit!

This took me a whole week, or I’d say maybe 20-30 hrs? Which I don’t know if that’s fast or incredibly slow. Did have to cut some corners to get it done before her banner came out, and her trailer showed me details I was either missing/forgot, so had to make some small adjustments. Still, it leaves much to be desired. I think it was sloppily done, and just screams laziness, but TBF, it probably wouldn’t have looked much different had I gotten the time anyways. I posted this artwork to get some feedback and criticism for some of my recent works, as well as be able to ask questions that have long gone unanswered in my mind. I understand if nobody wants to read this verbal slop, so you can skip this, just answer a few, or just one question. Even one would be greatly helpful and appreciated!

    Questions/Problems:

    >sticking too close to reference or series I’m drawing/not having my own art style (too wildly inconsistent) (example of closest to reference hopefully shown below)

    >too reliant on references, outside of reference takes 20 sketches minimum for something semi-decent (sketch for general idea without using reference hopefully shown below)

    >copious amount of time/difficulty to look for like 50 different references (I’m sure it’s too much)

    >what is the line of using reference/should I rely on reference for only personal projects and rely on own abilities for posted projects?

    >using other artist’s style in posted artwork (don’t know if I can say which ones cuz of rules, I don’t want to teeter the rules on my first post):/

    >e.g., using face from one, colours from another, rendering style from another, etc., etc., eventually building my own style

    >lack of ability/lazy when it comes to drawing things outside my immediate interest/expertise, (clothes, objects, background, saturation/value, perspective)

    >size for drawing? (been using 2600 x 1725 but every drawing now is inching towards 30 MB and brush lags a lot towards the end…but otherwise small subjects become extremely pixelated)

    >does drawing become easier or harder over time? (recent drawings require a lot of mental focus for me and thinking, and I don’t know if it’s normal to start getting dizzy/headaches)

    >what needs change/needs improvement in this piece? What about art would you recommend that I need a better understanding in to improve? (anything at all, really)
