You guys need to understand supply and demand better. There is great variance in taste, some people look for wholesome, some people want action, others want something interesting or scary.
However your (or my) favorite anime makes people happy, it’s not even a blip compared to the armies of lonely people who watch stuff like this. It’s not a disturbing fact, it’s a symptom
