Anime fans are hypocrites

  1. The key difference here though.

One is a broken Man on a road to recovery and finding inner peace.

The other one is an annoying blonde twit that keeps shouting believe it and gets his ass kicked every time he gets into a fight and he has to cheat by making multiple copies of himself and most of the time that doesn’t even work.

  2. Because one feels believable and the other contrived.

All Thorfinn wants to do here is talk to Canute, and he’s willing to get beaten up for it. He makes a bet that rowdy soldiers would believably take up. Then, after talking to Canute, because of their history, Thorfinn’s attitude, and his own nuanced beliefs, Canute *alters* (not abandons) his plan to be a little less brutal and heavy-handed.

All that said, not really the fairest comparison because Naruto is written more for kids and Vinland Saga is written for adults.

    not really,

when you see a character like Naruto that intentionally made to be incredibly powerful you don’t want to see them lose. it’s easier to accept a main character struggling or having problems if they are set up that way.

Take Subaru from re zero for example, it’s my very clear in the show that he hasn’t got many powers and he’s not strong in that world. but because of how the show is set up we want to see him struggle so he can overcome all of his hardships. pretty much everything that can go wrong, does go wrong for him the world hates him and he has to find ways around it.

if he was in a show like Dragon Ball Z people would think “his is so week, he can’t even fight a bad guy”.

No SOME of them are hypocrites

    I think he’s a lil bitch.

No man is my enemy? no. No man is BORN my enemy. But men may through their actions make themselves my enemy.

The difference is also in the theme.

Naruto’s world basically glorified combat and is a battle manga at its core. So Naruto being a sorta Messiah trying to stop the fighting isn’t what alot of people signed up for.

Vinland Saga, on the other hand, is all about deconstructing the idea of war. War is not portrayed as a good thing, and Thorfin’s desire for vengeance isn’t treated as a good thing.

  6. Isn’t this naruto after the pain fight why he is taking an L from a women in the Naruto universe

Hmm… it’s almost like the writing is a big factor in whether or not a scene will be viewed positively.
