For those who don’t know, the anime is Made In Abyss and basically>!the dad turned his daughter into a barely living mass of organs in a briefcase so he could survive the effects of the dungeon. For more context, the effects of the dungeon in question do things like make you bleed out of all your orfices and kill you, and only affect you when you go up. So the purpose of what he did was to transfer the effects to the mass of organs instead of himself.!<
The setting is about delving into a giant abyss full of eldritch horror. Now, the hardest part for delving the abyss isn’t the monsters, but a curse for those that dare going up after entering it. The deeper you go, the harsher the curse would be. The child in the picture lived in the 5th layer of the abyss, brought by her ‘father’ from the surface. The curse if you try going up (even just a stepping up two times on a stair) is ATLEAST bleeding out of your every orifice.
The twist is, her ‘father’, one of the highest ranking delver, found a way to mitigate the curse so you don’t get any negative effect of it. And that is the curse could be transferred to another person that love each other (even something like familial love). So her ‘father’ trick the kid to love him as a father, cut her up to the size of printer’s ink cartridges, all while keeping her alive so he can go deeper into the abyss and the curse would transfer to the kid when he is going up.
The sickest part is… The curse could only transfer if BOTH love each other. So the Father indeed love her, in his own cursed way.
