It’s an anime with a dumb story about school girls participating in tank battles as a sport, yet there are a few complaining about the speed of the tanks.
Guess what? The tanks being faster makes the all anime even more enjoyable.

The world needs to be internally consistent. Not real. If the magic makes sense in the world, it’s fine. If they’re depicting the real world, it has to follow real world rules to an extent.

It’s about feel… When you see a mech, you subconsciously think it’s human and should be as fast, being a fantasy thing helps as well… Since we know it’s imaginary, we don’t feel “deceived”
The problem occurs if the artist is trying to establish it as pseudo-fantasy… If you use a real world thing, you have to follow the real world rules because that’s what we are used to… A tank drifting like cars doesn’t look “realistic” like a human like mech running like at the relative speed of a human running…

It’s called suspension of disbelief. In fantasy settings you can fully suspend it, but in real life settings everybody has their own limit. Like I hated Lycoris Recoil cause assassins going around acting all cutesy is dumb af

There this one guy that sent confidential blueprints to a tank game company because they got one tiny detail wrong. Obviously he got fired and reprimanded.

I would not give a 10/10 to 3 of that anime honestly.
Strike Witches – Pantless girls go up for air combat maneuvers with props for legs.
Kancolle/Azur Lane – Same as SW, but on water.
HaiFuri – A destroyer that needs less than 30 people to operate instead of the hundreds usually needed. The speed of the ship is also ficitious.
Meanwhile its fine for people like Tom Clancy to make up shit I guess since its not anime. /s

This is a stupid take that gets made far too often. ‘Hurr durr its not real so it doesnt need to make sense’. Yes it does. Not for our worlds rules, but theirs. Weird magic that makes no sense with the established magic rules get called out aswell.
