Japan loves blue

  1. A lot of those “blue” are because the word “ao” (blue in Japanese) can also mean “young”. That’s why blue is the youth’s color in Japan.

    The reason for it is, that the japanese word for youth is Seishun written 青春 in Kanji. Maybe some Bocchi the Rock fan remembers the song Seishun Complex. The kanji on their own mean “blue” 青 and “spring” 春. That’s why there are a lot of blue and spring themed anime around teenagers. Blue is easier to spot, though.
