I read the manga and my takeaway is that you can’t binge this, you have to watch it as it airs/releases, or you’ll get bored pretty quickly.

I feel like the people complaining about Nokotan being random nonsense paid literally zero attention to to marketing or otherwise went into it with expectations that were totally off base. I went in fully expecting random bullshit and have been enjoying it thus far.

I don’t watch much purely comedy anime, but the one I have watched random scenes from is Nichijou, and that’s all I have watched. Random scene with the awful tasting jam, random scene with the principal wrestling a deer, random scene with the girl suplexing a goat, random scene where the dog bites the girls.
Watch them once every year or so. They are random stuff happening, they are hilarious. Let people have their fun.

I laugh multiple times every Shikanoko episode, and I don’t think I’ve laughed once watching Makeine. No hate, I like both shows, humor is completely subjective.

One of the things that made me weird was the CGI Deers. And then the Ending song is literally advertisement of some Deer Park.
Quick question: Is this some plot by Japanese to promote Deer Tourism???
Chaos and unpredictability is part of the appeal. Each and every episode had me yelling “what the fuck? Why? What?!” multiple times, and I’m all here for it.

For me this was a very rare case where the PV was hilarious but the show kinda failed to live up to it. Whoever put that PV together did a great job.
